We renovated the exterior and the 4-car garage of this colonial, New England-style estate in Haverford, PA. The 3-story main house has white, western red cedar siding and a green roof. The detached, 4-car garage also functions as a gentleman’s workshop. Originally, that building was two separate structures. The challenge was to create one building with a cohesive look that fit with the main house’s New England style. Challenge accepted! We started by building a breezeway to connect the two structures. The new building’s exterior mimics that of the main house’s siding, stone and roof, and has copper downspouts and gutters. The stone exterior has a German shmear finish to make the stone look as old as the stone on the house. The workshop portion features mahogany, carriage style doors. The workshop floors are reclaimed Belgian block brick.

Inspiration for a mid-sized coastal dark wood floor hallway remodel in Providence with brown walls

The goal for this Point Loma home was to transform it from the adorable beach bungalow it already was by expanding its footprint and giving it distinctive Craftsman characteristics while achieving a comfortable, modern aesthetic inside that perfectly caters to the active young family who lives here. By extending and reconfiguring the front portion of the home, we were able to not only add significant square footage, but create much needed usable space for a home office and comfortable family living room that flows directly into a large, open plan kitchen and dining area. A custom built-in entertainment center accented with shiplap is the focal point for the living room and the light color of the walls are perfect with the natural light that floods the space, courtesy of strategically placed windows and skylights. The kitchen was redone to feel modern and accommodate the homeowners busy lifestyle and love of entertaining. Beautiful white kitchen cabinetry sets the stage for a large island that packs a pop of color in a gorgeous teal hue. A Sub-Zero classic side by side refrigerator and Jenn-Air cooktop, steam oven, and wall oven provide the power in this kitchen while a white subway tile backsplash in a sophisticated herringbone pattern, gold pulls and stunning pendant lighting add the perfect design details. Another great addition to this project is the use of space to create separate wine and coffee bars on either side of the doorway. A large wine refrigerator is offset by beautiful natural wood floating shelves to store wine glasses and house a healthy Bourbon collection. The coffee bar is the perfect first top in the morning with a coffee maker and floating shelves to store coffee and cups. Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring was selected for use throughout the home, offering the warm feel of hardwood, with the benefits of being waterproof and nearly indestructible - two key factors with young kids!
For the exterior of the home, it was important to capture classic Craftsman elements including the post and rock detail, wood siding, eves, and trimming around windows and doors. We think the porch is one of the cutest in San Diego and the custom wood door truly ties the look and feel of this beautiful home together.

As the kitchen is in the center of the house, we finished it with wish bone chairs they perfectly complement industrial wooden table they have. We kept the old chandelier and vase.

Doug Sturgeon Eclipse Photography | This space needed to play double duty. Provide an inviting area to work and consult with clients during the day while also serving as a functional kitchen, bathroom, living and sleeping space for my client that downsized from a townhouse.
It was a tall order, but we worked closely to ensure the space functioned well in both capacities. The result is a travel inspired, eclectic, yet modern space that reflects my client's personality and style. It was a multi phased project given all the kitchen & bath renovations required. The previous kitchen had been removed entirely so we started from scratch and we're extremely proud of the result.
Favourite pieces include the subtle iridescent backsplash, the moroccan lighting, the sliding glass shower enclosure, the imported media unit made from fishing boats, the hanging bike and my clients travel photographer that add colour and his personality to the space.

A small addition (approx 200 sf) to an 1950's ranch house in Los Altos Hills...The project did completely renovate the existing house and focused on integrating the house with the exterior spaces. The Family Room opens out to the front yard patio while the Living Room focuses on the exterior view of the San Francisco Bay... This is the second project of what will be a three phase project.

Despite its exposed ceiling, this laundry room is bright, inviting, and full of style.
The foundation wall received light blue glass tiles along the perimeter capped with a wood trim painted white to match the trim. The wall is a muted robin eggs blue colour. The cabinet is from Ikea with a brown-grey quartz countertop and stainless steel sink. Linoleum was installed on the concrete floor for warmth and clean-ability.

H2D Architecture + Design developed a comprehensive vision for the renovation of this Bellevue residence, creating a cohesive master plan that can be implemented in phased construction to align with the homeowners' priorities, budget, and timeline. The first phase reimagined the primary suite, including a redesigned bathroom, reconfigured closet and bedroom. Strategic space planning enhanced the functionality and flow of each space while creating a serene, spa-inspired retreat tailored to the homeowners' lifestyle. Future phases will transform the home's main living areas through a complete reconfiguration of the kitchen, dining room, entry, and living room. The design will improve circulation, increase functionality, and create light-filled, beautifully connected spaces.
