Collaborated on project development from design and permitting to installation in 2014. Over 10 years, we’ve maintained close communication with the owners and their maintenance provider, RP Marzilli to ensure the landscape is kept in top condition. The sloping yard allowed us to create a stunning infinity-edge pool, while the large evergreen plantings provide privacy and edge habitat. New England stone walls and mature tree layers beautifully integrate the house with the surrounding landscape. Angela Kearney, Minglewood, LLC

Once the trees were removed a Japanese hemlock and a columnar yew were planted on the top layer of stone retainers, (most of which had been buried).

This elegant backyard transformation blends modern clean lines with natural textures, creating a serene and stylish outdoor living space. The custom-built grill station features a stone veneer base, granite countertop, and horizontal cedar privacy screen, all set beneath a bold wood pergola that adds architectural interest and shade.
The adjacent landscape features organic curves, boulder accents, and a dry creek bed of mixed river rocks, which bring a touch of nature into the structured space. Thoughtful planting, layered mulch, and soft outdoor lighting enhance the cozy, curated look—making this backyard ideal for relaxing evenings or weekend entertaining.

This Sherman Oaks backyard construction project showcases a fully executed Sherman Oaks outdoor living build featuring a custom-engineered Sherman Oaks pergola, newly installed Sherman Oaks paver patio, structured ficus privacy hedging, layered planting design, professionally installed Sherman Oaks lawn, and an integrated Sherman Oaks irrigation system.
Constructed entirely in Sherman Oaks, this outdoor renovation combines structural carpentry, precision hardscape installation, strategic plant layout, and efficient irrigation planning to create a private, durable, and visually refined backyard environment designed for modern Sherman Oaks living.

This garden comprises a complex layering of textures and subtle coloring. Also many of the plantings were designed to attract wildlife and the overall design was one of elegance, with a combination of naturalistic and formal plantings. Special attention was paid in the site planning and garden design to the water wise design of this landscape. The brick is unmortared with a sand base to ensure the return of valuable water to the soil and plantings. Plantings are arranged according to water needs, good soil preparation was paramount, plantings are irrigated by drip system and a good covering of wood mulch was used.

Layers of textures create visual interest while maintaining a soothing calm in the monochromatic garden.
