The only full bathroom in this 1906 craftsman home needs to function well for a family of four. We swapped out a claw foot tub for a large walk-in shower with a recessed shower curtain track. Two wall-mounted faucets pour into a wide trough sink. A custom-made medicine cabinet with an arched mirror is flanked by two opaque globe sconce lights.

A millwork wall cleverly hides the entry to the laundry/ mechanical room while providing an integrated track which allows artwork to be displayed and easily swapped out without damaging the meticulously finished wall.

In the kitchen, dark outdated cabinets were swapped out for Glacier white cabinets from Grabill Cabinets in their Devonshire door style. A beautiful waterfall walnut countertop from Grothouse pops next to the white ENVI Quartz countertop in Statuario Fiora on the island. A beautiful custom Vent-A-Hood in black and stainless steel creates contrast around the perimeter of the room.

We got to start with the most spacious master suite, essentially the full second floor of a classic Chicago Bungalow. We gutted the bathroom, swapping the huge dated tub for more storage, upgraded the dual pedestal sinks to a custom double vanity, and gave the double shower a makeover, adding a rain head. This custom home theater was designed to be the ultimate gathering spot for a large family. The space combines comfort, style, and functionality with thoughtful details that make every movie night feel special. Our clients loved it so much they’ve swapped trips to the cinema for cozy nights in their new theater.

When the homeowners purchased this house, it had good bones — but needed a vision. Ready for a new chapter, they wanted their dining room transformed into a proper gathering space: formal enough for holidays, warm enough to linger. The direction was sophisticated, earthy, and organic with a slightly masculine edge, inspired by the wife's New England roots. We kept the architecture and gutted the built-ins, rebuilding with purpose — custom millwork featuring reeded cabinet faces, a mirrored backsplash, dark wood tones, an arched detail, and an exotic stone top strike a balance between feminine and masculine. A hidden pantry door disappears flush into the wall, and wainscoting was added to ground the space. Floor-to-ceiling window treatments fill the wall for balance, with the curtain track tucked inside the bay window for a clean, floating effect. An iconic mural-style print from Rebel Walls anchors the room as a large-scale work of art — a subtle wash of earthy tones that doubles as a focal point. Every outlet and switch was swapped for aged brass, tying every detail together into a room that feels like it was always there.

This bright Santa Monica ADU features a cheerful palette with a bold blue tile backsplash, warm oak accents, and clean white cabinetry, creating a welcoming retreat in a compact footprint. Sometimes we start with a few foundational items and a blank slate. We’ve worked with these Clients on their previous home, and they were ready to make their bedroom suite all their own. Keeping the built-ins was a requirement as was wallpaper, some new window treatments, a closet overhaul, and all the decor and details. We kept the bed and drapes and swapped the rest to create a luxe sleeping retreat. Phase 2 of this project was to tackle the dining room and adjacent powder room. The dining room had a small sun room attached to it that was not being utilized. We turned it into a luxe home bar with custom cabinetry and a stunning quartz countertop / backsplash. Gold wallpaper on the ceiling completed the room and highlighted all of the fun metal details throughout the space. We ran the color from the bar through the dining room and accented it with bold wallpaper. We added some contrasting colors with the rug selection and brought in wood tones with the furniture to ground the space. FUN FACT : The art over the fireplace is a vintage photo from District’s Vintage Chicago Project, featuring photos found in vintage furniture over the lifetime of the store. This is sophistication in the kitchen. These are custom made cabinetry from Dutch Made Inc. These are a maple cabinet with a beautiful paint and a glaze on the base cabinets. It is the perfect partner to the chenille upper cabinets. The hood wall steals the show with it's elegance and open space. This is a custom hood that is breathtaking and timeless. Glass doors around the window give depth and elegance to the kitchen that only glass can do. Don't miss the appliance garage on the countertop to provide plenty of storage. Eating and entertaining at the island is perfect with the stools and snack bar area. Last but not least is the incredible wall of ovens, refrigerator and pantry.
