A desire to live in Colorado, yet still maintain the family’s ties to Springfield, location of their home, evolved into a total transformation. Beginning with the removal of the white columns, red brick, metal garage doors, and a small front porch, and delicate landscaping this home was totally transformed into a Mountain Retreat boasting reclaimed beams, stone veneer, stucco, and flagstone help transform the home.

Arclinea Armour:
The kitchen design industry changed again with the launch of Armour last year. With a natural core in kraft paper mixed with new-gen resins, it is produced using high pressure lamination to create a highly evolved technical material with design capabilities for both horizontal and vertical applications, from cabinet fronts to countertops. The result, is an extremely durable surface that is scratch, abrasion, and finger proof resistant, buttery smooth to the touch, with velvety matte finish. It's water repellent and hygienic properties make it a smart choice for kitchen surfaces and the appearance of a matte lacquer to achieve that high-end modern look, for less. Armour meets the budget restraints of a multi-unit project or the savvy designer or homeowner.

Full Home Renovation and Addition. Industrial Artist Style.
We removed most of the walls in the existing house and create a bridge to the addition over the detached garage. We created an very open floor plan which is industrial and cozy. Both bathrooms and the first floor have cement floors with a specialty stain, and a radiant heat system. We installed a custom kitchen, custom barn doors, custom furniture, all new windows and exterior doors. We loved the rawness of the beams and added corrugated tin in a few areas to the ceiling. We applied American Clay to many walls, and installed metal stairs. This was a fun project and we had a blast!

Embark on a visual journey through our latest bedroom remodel! Witness the stunning transformation as a once ordinary space evolves into a dreamy haven. The focal point? A mesmerizing wallpaper headboard that sets the playful tone. But the magic doesn't stop there – discover the hidden gem behind it, a meticulously designed walk-in closet, adding both charm and functionality to this extraordinary makeover.

Kids' study room - study space traditional gender-neutral carpeted kids' study room idea in Raleigh with multicolored walls

New to the area, this client wanted to modernize and clean up this older 1980's home on one floor covering 3500 sq ft. on the golf course. Clean lines and a neutral material palette blends the home into the landscape, while careful craftsmanship gives the home a clean and contemporary appearance.
We first met the client when we were asked to re-design the client future kitchen. The layout was not making any progress with the architect, so they asked us to step and give them a hand. The outcome is wonderful, full and expanse kitchen. The kitchen lead to assisting the client throughout the entire home.
We were also challenged to meet the clients desired design details but also to meet a certain budget number.

This remodel of a mid century gem is located in the town of Lincoln, MA a hot bed of modernist homes inspired by Gropius’ own house built nearby in the 1940’s. By the time the house was built, modernism had evolved from the Gropius era, to incorporate the rural vibe of Lincoln with spectacular exposed wooden beams and deep overhangs.
The design rejects the traditional New England house with its enclosing wall and inward posture. The low pitched roofs, open floor plan, and large windows openings connect the house to nature to make the most of its rural setting.

This small third bedroom in a 1950's North Vancouver home originally housed our growing interior design business. When we outgrew this 80 square foot space and moved to a studio across the street, I wondered what would become of this room with its lovely ocean view. As it turns out it evolved into a shared creative space for myself and my very artistic 7 year old daughter. In the spirit of Virginia Wolfe's "A Room of One's Own" this is a creative space where we are surrounded by some of our favourite things including vintage collectibles & furniture, artwork and craft projects, not to mention my all time favourite Cole and Son wallpaper. It is all about pretty and girly with just the right amount of colour. Interior Design by Lori Steeves of Simply Home Decorating Inc. Photos by Tracey Ayton Photography.

"Our clients desired an open floor flan in the main living space, allowing the Architecture to be fully expressed. They challenged us to create a Kitchen that didn't look like a kitchen from the adjacent areas. What evolved is like a high-tech piece of furniture. It was also desired to have low profile light fixtures - so they didn't visually dominate the volume." - Randall Whitehead.

A leaky tub and some cracked tiles convinced our returning clients that an update to their primary suite was long overdue. The old bathroom’s traditional travertine tiles, stained wood cabinets, and bulky tub deck made the space feel heavy and dated. Our goal was to create a sophisticated, light, and serene space that was more aligned with their evolving style. Replacing the sizeable tub deck with a freestanding bathtub opened up the room and allowed us to expand the walk-in shower. A slim niche was strategically tucked into the corner ensuring products are within easy reach. Separate his and hers vanities provide ample storage with an abundance of drawers.. The dramatic veining in the marble-look porcelain provides the perfect backdrop for the minimalist tub and modern plumbing fixtures while the natural marble in the shower plays off the warm golds and grays. With thoughtful design choices and striking finishes, we transformed a dark and drab bathroom into a refined and refreshing retreat.
