This 50" x 42" window, "Off On Another Of His Tangents", needed to perform a dual function; The client wanted a bold artwork for the stairwell landing that also had to allow the view of their surrounding property and its rolling hills to be featured. The design represents the ascension from the first floor to the second, with a wide swath of negative space to capture the view. The earth-tone colors were inspired by the palette of a very well known artist's canvas which hangs in close proximity to this space.

Shower wall tile and vanity wall wainscots and floor base tile is 6" x 18" Carrera Marble on offset subway pattern. Shower floors are 5/8" Carrera Marble mosaic tile. All exposed edges including windows, shower walls, top wainscots and floor base are custom bull-nose profiled. Shower floor is custom mud set with SchluterSystems waterproofing and drain system.

A modern mid-century house in the Los Feliz neighborhood of the Hollywood Hills, this was an extensive renovation. The house was brought down to its studs, new foundations poured, and many walls and rooms relocated and resized. This commission involved the renovation and conversion of two duplex apartments into one single residence/retreat. The two existing external stairs were removed and replaced by a single internal staircase. This intervention made it possible to create one large outdoor area and maximise the existing view.
