Designed by Paula Truchon of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Frederick, MD this bathroom is a Reico Kitchen & Bath turnkey remodeling project in collaboration with EPIC Kitchen & Bath. A success in the words of the client, this bathroom remodeling project was a true team effort. “Paula spent a lot of time with us and provided great advice on the design. Alece really ensured the project kept moving and was brought to closure.” The bathroom design is a transitional style that features Ultracraft Cabinetry and framed mirrors in Andover Cherry Porcini. The bathroom also features a Kohler white shower base, Kohler Caxton under mount sinks and Moen Voss polished chrome plumbing and accessories. A Kohler HydroRail in the shower provides versatility via the stationary showerhead or handheld shower in a small and cost effective footprint. A Kohler Levity frameless barn door style bypass door encloses the shower yet allows visibility of the beautiful tile surround. Tile selections include 12x24 Emil Eterna Natural Avorio floor tile installed in a diagonal subway pattern, 12x24 EGE Semik Arya White for the shower walls, tub apron and tub splash in a vertical stacked pattern with a Lunada Bay Tozen Glow Vanadium/Silver Martini glass mosaic accent band. Lauren Hunt from Reico Kitchen and Bath in Charlotte, NC, worked with The Atta Group to design a transitional-inspired kitchen and bar using Masterpiece cabinetry. The kitchen features Masterpiece cabinets in the Martel Evercore doorstyle in a Frost finish on the perimeter. The kitchen island and bar area both features the same doorstyle with a combination of two different finishes, Riverbed and Shortbread. The countertops are Calacatta Macchia Vecchia Sapien Stone Porcelain. The client shared their experience, saying, “I love the range hood and the slatted island decor. Riverbed is a beautiful color in both sun and shade. Lauren’s advice to get samples and lay them out in different lighting was invaluable. She went above and beyond, even coming out in the parking lot on a hot summer day to help us. We truly couldn’t have done this without her. Lauren was always patient and supportive as we made decisions, and she never pressured us. Any future projects we have, we’ll 100% reach out to Lauren. This kitchen, created as a new renovation, was added onto the home as a true team effort. Tom Fox, the architect, brilliantly coordinated the space to seamlessly blend with the adjoining family room. The major element in uniting them was the ceiling treatment, coffers with individual planks - not headboard. The circular chandelier was selected to represent infinity of the family circle. The kitchen was not photo ready, but I love to see the spaces I design lived in! The focal point is the custom copper hood, but the double sinks are an amazing feature as well. Both adults in the home love to cook, and clean up is a team effort. The double sink makes these chores more functional.

This home addition didn't go according to plan... and that's a good thing. Here's why. Family is really important to the Nelson's. But the small kitchen and living room in their 30 plus-year-old house meant crowded holidays for all the children and grandchildren. It was easy to see that a major home remodel was needed. The problem was the Nelson's didn't know anyone who had a great experience with a builder. The Nelson's connected with ALL Renovation & Design at a home show in York, PA, but it wasn't until after sitting down with several builders and going over preliminary designs that it became clear that Amos listened and cared enough to guide them through the project in a way that would achieve their goals perfectly. So work began on a new addition with a “great room” and a master bedroom with a master bathroom. That's how it started. But the project didn't go according to plan. Why? Because Amos was constantly asking, “What would make you 100% satisfied.” And he meant it. For example, when Mrs. Nelson realized how much she liked the character of the existing brick chimney, she didn't want to see it get covered up. So plans changed mid-stride. But we also realized that the brick wouldn't fit with the plan for a stone fireplace in the new family room. So plans changed there as well, and brick was ordered to match the chimney. It was truly a team effort that produced a beautiful addition that is exactly what the Nelson's wanted... or as Mrs. Nelson said, “...even better, more beautiful than we envisioned.” For Christmas, the Nelson's were able to have the entire family over with plenty of room for everyone. Just what they wanted. The outside of the addition features GAF architectural shingles in Pewter, Certainteed Mainstreet D4 Shiplap in light maple, and color-matching bricks. Inside the great room features the Armstrong Prime Harvest Oak engineered hardwood in a natural finish, Masonite 6-panel pocket doors, a custom sliding pine barn door, and Simonton 5500 series windows. The master bathroom cabinetry was made to match the bedroom furniture set, with a cultured marble countertop from Countertec, and tile flooring.

Christi Cooper had the vision, worked closely with the client, and put the final touches on this room. But as always This project was a team effort, the very talent ladies in the Interiors marketplace drapery workroom created the window treatments and all the bedding.
