We need your generosity so that we can give her the enchanted room of her dreams as she endures 2.5 years of treatments. We're breaking out our magic wands and designing a gorgeous room for this sweet little girl. With your assistance, we can create a fairy tale space for Kaylee and her family to rest and recover. Kaylee's story hits especially close to home in our tight-knit community. Her mother, Kelly, is an oncology nurse at Rady Children's Hospital. Yes, you read that correctly - her mother has spent the last 8 years compassionately caring after children who have been diagnosed with cancer. In fact, she was one of the dedicated nurses who so wonderfully cared for Savvy Giving by Design's very first recipient, Kasey Harvey. And Kelly is not the only hero in this family. Their son Drew is 5 years-old and daughter Kaylee will turn 3 in August. Kaylee's diagnosis, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, turned this family's world upside down. While her prognosis is, thankfully, very good (with a 93% cure rate), the treatment will be incredibly arduous. Kaylee is facing 2.5 years of ongoing treatment with periods of intense chemotherapy followed by "maintenance" chemo. As hard as it is to believe, Kaylee's treatment will not be complete until she is 5 years-old and preparing to enter kindergarten. Given the ongoing and onerous treatment regimen that Kaylee faces, Savvy Giving by Design knows that she will need a beautiful and comfortable room where she can rest and be visited by family and friends. Kaylee is currently transitioning out of her crib and we have big intentions for this princess-loving little girl. Our plan is to combine fun and functionality with details and personal touches that will show Kaylee that there is an entire community rallying behind her. We will incorporate Kaylee's favorite colors (pink and purple) and turn her fantasies into reality by installing a built-in castle bed that makes her room feel magical and shows this little girl that anything is possible. This room will have some very personal special touches incorporated into it to pay tribute to Kaylee's fairy godmother. When Kelly was 13, she lost her very best friend, Jessica, to cancer. Kelly paid tribute to her dear friend by naming her daughter Kaylee Jessica and she wholeheartedly believes that Jessica will be watching over her little girl as she travels this difficult road. With sufficient funding, we will also be able to do a little makeover for Kaylee's knight in shining armor, her big brother Drew. We recognize and appreciate that Drew faces a struggle all his own as his little sister battles this disease. Savvy Giving by Design is a the philanthropic arm of Savvy Interiors, Inc. We are registered with the state of California as a nonprofit and awaiting our "formal" 501(c)(3) designation by the IRS. Your donations are tax-deductible. All monies collected will go directly to this space! Any excess funds will be distributed directly to the family. The extensive remodeling done on this project brought as a result a classy and welcoming perfectly U-Shape layout kitchen Pantry. The combination of green and brown colors and the selected textures along with the long rectangular kitchen island perfectly positioned in the center, creates an inviting atmosphere and the sensation of a much bigger space. During the renovation process, the D9 team focused their efforts on removing the existing kitchen island and replacing the existing kitchen island cabinets with new kraft made cabinets producing a visual contrast to the rest of the kitchen. The beautiful Quartz color river rock countertops used for this projects were fabricated and installed bringing a much relevant accent to the cabinets and matching the brown metal tile backsplash. The old sink was replaced for a new farmhouse sink, giving the homeowners more space and adding a very particular touch to the rest of the kitchen.

These repeat clients were looking for a relaxing getaway for their family of five young kids and themselves to enjoy. Upon finding the perfect vacation destination, they turned once again to JRP’s team of experts for their full home remodel. They knew JRP would provide them with the quality and attention to detail they expected. The vision was to give the home a clean, bright, and coastal look. It also needed to have the functionality a large family requires. This home previously lacked the light and bright feel they wanted in their vacation home. With small windows and balcony in the master bedroom, it also failed to take advantage of the beautiful harbor views. The carpet was yet another major problem for the family. With young kids, these clients were looking for a lower maintenance option that met their design vision. To fix these issues, JRP removed the carpet and tile throughout and replaced with a beautiful seven-inch engineered oak hardwood flooring. Ceiling fans were installed to meet the needs of the coastal climate. They also gave the home a whole new cohesive design and pallet by using blue and white colors throughout. From there, efforts were focused on giving the master bedroom a major reconfiguration. The balcony was expanded, and a larger glass panel and metal handrail was installed leading to their private outdoor space. Now they could really enjoy all the harbor views. The bedroom and bathroom were also expanded by moving the closet and removing an extra vanity from the hallway. By the end, the bedroom truly became a couples’ retreat while the rest of the home became just the relaxing getaway the family needed.

To step foot through the enormous front door is to immediately feel like you’re getting to know these homeowners. It was integral to Cluck’s vision that we incorporate the energy and personality of the clients and their family, and to build them a home in which they could fully be themselves. They wanted a modern farmhouse that would be at home in both their Park Road neighborhood or in their hometown of Long Island, New York. Through the many different variations presented in the Design Process, the team navigated an incredibly thin and long plot of land (68’W x 1,000’L) as well as a 40’ elevation change from the street to the lowest point in the property. This modern twist on a traditional form used cypress and mill-finished steel for the exterior, and incorporated large sliding doors that pocket completely into the wall to create a seamless indoor/outdoor living space. Speaking of outdoors, great efforts were made to preserve the feelings of being among the trees, and to camouflage the six-car garage into the landscape. This garage, dubbed The Moto Dojo, includes a green roof, a rooftop deck, a full living room, kitchen, and bathroom, and a gym (hence the latter half of the name). Solar panels line the flat roof portion as well, to power their house and their electric cars. Thoughtful details carry throughout the interior of the house as well. A 20’ canyon runs through the center of the home, separating the kitchen, family, and dining room from the office space and outdoor transition. The 10’ x 5’ door and custom-built steel and beech staircase add a dramatic flair to the entrance, as well as the three skylights above the stairwell. — Completed 2022

Blanchard Mountain Farm, a small certified organic vegetable farm, sits in an idyllic location; where the Chuckanut Mountains come down to meet the Samish river basin. The owners found and fell in love with the land, knew it was the right place to start their farm, but realized the existing farmhouse was riddled with water damage, poor energy efficiency, and ill-conceived additions. Our remodel team focused their efforts on returning the farmhouse to its craftsman roots, while addressing the structure’s issues, salvaging building materials, and upgrading the home’s performance. Despite removing the roof and taking the entire home down to the studs, we were able to preserve the original fir floors and repurpose much of the original roof framing as rustic wainscoting and paneling. The indoor air quality and heating efficiency were vastly improved with the additions of a heat recovery ventilator and ductless heat pump. The building envelope was upgraded with focused air-sealing, new insulation, and the installation of a ventilation cavity behind the cedar siding. All of these details work together to create an efficient, highly durable home that preserves all the charms a century old farmhouse. Times have changed and so has the kitchen. Some houses just demand a style and a presence, and this home is certainly one of those houses. It had an old out of date kitchen from the 1970’s misplaced in a grand stone house from the 1920s. There was a traditional servant’s kitchen with back entrance that did not look grand, as was the case in those days. We recreated the front entry’s cased opening with leaded stained glass, matched ribbon Mahogany on the cabinets and trim just like the original dining room, and tied in leaded stained glass at the cabinets. The backsplash was designed to keep that servant’s kitchen feel, but with grandeur, reclaiming marble pavers from the property. Introducing an exquisitely designed powder room project nestled in a luxurious residence on Riverside Drive, Manhattan, NY. This captivating space seamlessly blends traditional elegance with urban sophistication, reflecting the quintessential charm of the city that never sleeps. The focal point of this powder room is the enchanting floral green wallpaper that wraps around the walls, evoking a sense of timeless grace and serenity. The design pays homage to classic interior styles, infusing the room with warmth and character. A key feature of this space is the bespoke tiling, meticulously crafted to complement the overall design. The tiles showcase intricate patterns and textures, creating a harmonious interplay between traditional and contemporary aesthetics. Each piece has been carefully selected and installed by skilled tradesmen, who have dedicated countless hours to perfecting this one-of-a-kind space. The pièce de résistance of this powder room is undoubtedly the vanity sconce, inspired by the iconic New York City skyline. This remarkable project took two years on and off to complete, with our studio accommodating the process with unwavering commitment and enthusiasm. These repeat clients were looking for a relaxing getaway for their family of five young kids and themselves to enjoy. Upon finding the perfect vacation destination, they turned once again to JRP’s team of experts for their full home remodel. They knew JRP would provide them with the quality and attention to detail they expected. The vision was to give the home a clean, bright, and coastal look. It also needed to have the functionality a large family requires. This home previously lacked the light and bright feel they wanted in their vacation home. With small windows and balcony in the master bedroom, it also failed to take advantage of the beautiful harbor views. The carpet was yet another major problem for the family. With young kids, these clients were looking for a lower maintenance option that met their design vision. To fix these issues, JRP removed the carpet and tile throughout and replaced with a beautiful seven-inch engineered oak hardwood flooring. Ceiling fans were installed to meet the needs of the coastal climate. They also gave the home a whole new cohesive design and pallet by using blue and white colors throughout. From there, efforts were focused on giving the master bedroom a major reconfiguration. The balcony was expanded, and a larger glass panel and metal handrail was installed leading to their private outdoor space. Now they could really enjoy all the harbor views. The bedroom and bathroom were also expanded by moving the closet and removing an extra vanity from the hallway. By the end, the bedroom truly became a couples’ retreat while the rest of the home became just the relaxing getaway the family needed.

This multi-level island features seating at counter height on both long sides as well as raised bar seating on the back which is open to the great room. The microwave drawer is conveniently located and the beverage center holds both wines and other drinks in close proximity. Newman Associates/Paul Mansback Inc., RE Marble and Granite, Capital Kitchens and Delicious Kitchens & Interiors, LLC.

On this ultra-custom pool hall design, we had the pleasure of working with Lonnie Unger, currently with Stones Throw Interiors. Our team worked closely with Lonnie to come up with the custom design for the wall paneling, custom cabinetry, as well as the wine cellar door. This project allowed us to showcase our many different design skills and expertise. Our collaborative design work created this beautiful speak-easy style pool room and lounge. From sleek and classic shaker style paneling, to dramatic 3-step crown molding, this project makes a theatrical statement that is sure to impress all guests. Custom Design Application A modern design element that we utilized, was carrying over the wall paneling design to the cabinetry. This design element creates a continuous appearance that ties together the entire room, making the pool table and accessories stand out. The same paint for the walls and cabinets was also used for the custom wine cellar door. One special feature that is important to notice, is the wood threshold at the bottom of the wine cellar door. This piece is crucial for maintaining a temperature-controlled wine cellar. Without this piece, there would be a dramatic increase in temperature within the wine cellar. Wine cellars are recommended to be kept at a strict 55 degrees to ensure wine preservation. The threshold stops the air from escaping. Collaboration with Designers With a showroom in River North, Chicago, we pride ourselves on being in the middle of the River North Design District. We are lucky to have the opportunity to collaborate with top Designers and Professional Individuals in Downtown Chicago.
