Nestled in the dunes on a double ocean front lot, the interior of this magnificent home is comprised of bespoke furnishings designed and built for each space. Carefully selected antiques and eclectic artwork blend colors and textures to create a comfortable, fresh palette balancing formality with a touch of whimsy granting the classic architecture an unexpected and lighthearted feel. This kitchen got a facelift with the help of new paint, counters, backsplash and fixtures. We updated the cabinets with contrasting paint, dark island and light along the walls. New pale blue tile give the walls texture, depth and a hint of color. Floating white oak shelves are mounted with iron brackets that compliment the dark pendant lights.

For her own home in New Canaan, CT, Shelley Morris gutted a mid-century, ranch style house, transforming it inside and out. Reinvisioning the exterior architectural elevation and interior floor plan, the designer orchestrated rich, textured materials including Venetian plaster walls, reclaimed wood beams, floor to ceiling mutton windows, wide plank white oak floors, painted custom millwork, and horizontal wainscot. Raising ceiling heights in most of the rooms (either cathedral or tray style), she also introduced round windows, French doors, a black granite surround fireplace, and all-new bathrooms, kitchen, plumbing and lighting. The furnishings are a layered collage of subtle textures and color.

For these Atlanta clients, we decided to go with a light and airy color palette for their master suite makeover. Pale blues, cool grays, and powerful golds complement one another and are timeless yet current. Tailored furnishings and subtle accents in the lighting offer a refreshing style while the natural textures and wall decor add depth and interest. Home located in Dunwoody, Atlanta.
