This 2,500 sq. ft. commercial facility was meticulously designed to accommodate up to seven writers’ rooms and production suites—each capable of operating simultaneously without interruption, with four of the rooms built for mixing capabilities. With seamless audio integration throughout, the space ensures intuitive connectivity no matter where you are on the property. The aesthetic palette, paired with a loud and quirky speakeasy vibe, creates a fun atmosphere that reflects the owners’ personalities. The result is not just a studio that feels effortless—it’s an inspiring environment where writing, mixing, and production can happen with minimal sound transmission. Behind the walls, the architectural acoustics are second to none. The design emphasizes a true “plug-and-play” workflow: each control room, both isolation booths, and all common areas are acoustically isolated with extraordinary attention to detail. Each suite is equipped with dedicated, silent 1:1 HVAC systems. Eight independent floating-floor systems support the suites, while tailored sound-reducing wall assemblies and intentional treatments in the main suites deliver clarity and precision for mixing. To the right of the Fireplace, we took a couple of sections of wall out and properly transferred the load. These openings allowed for the French doors to be installed and also a Media Cabinet to be recessed into the wall. We built the Cabinet and ran all of the wiring for in wall speakers etc. The Components are hidden in the bottom of the cabinet and controlled with an IR extension.

To fully enjoy the winter holidays, with all the snow and cold, was the basis for our client’s decision to maintain their Chicago home when they were transferred to the warm and sunny west coast. A trusted caretaker was put in place to oversee and maintain their property; however, even excellent planning sometimes runs off-track. In the midst of winter the caretaker left on a well-planned vacation. The homeowner’s were apprised of dates and, without a worry, everyone went on about their daily routines. That is, until the caretaker returned and found the home in such utter devastation, he could not believe what had happened in such a short amount of time. The ill-timed vacation, planned during what became an extremely cold timeframe, was the home’s undoing. With the heat in the home turned slightly lower, to accommodate the emptiness, paired with the below zero temperatures, the hot water pipe in the main floor Sunroom froze and burst. The gushing, steaming water, unchecked, moved in so many directions, it is difficult to comprehend. As the water soaked through the Sunroom flooring to the walk-out Lower Level Area below, ice blocks were freezing before the water reached the ground; Ice blocks so thick only time and warmer temperatures were able to thaw. Since the heating systems were unaffected, the heat, paired with the steaming moisture, raised the humidity levels in the entire home; what wasn’t wet ultimately became mold covered. The humidity in the home was raised to such a level that window and door seals were compromised and condensation clouded most of the interior glass panes. The Kitchen wood flooring, saturated with water, buckled, causing the cabinets to lift and the granite to crack. The ceiling in the lower level Bar Area fell as the water flooded both the Bar and the adjoining Billiards Room, wreaking havoc on cabinetry, carpet, artwork, etc. After the insurance estimation determined the home was salvageable, the design phase began in earnest headed by LaMantia’s James Campbell, CKD and aided by Katie Suva, CKD, CBD as the guides. After a very long march towards recovery, the home is now back to the pristine beauty it once was.

This customer spent over 40 years building and renovating his home. In his younger days, he was an amazing building and craftsman. Recently, he suffered a stroke and lost the ability to build. He loved that we were able to keep storage features he had built in his previous cabinets and transfer them to the new cabinets. This homeowner chose shaker-style oak cabinets stained in Michels. He and his daughter are both pleased with the results, and with their huge increase in storage space.

This custom-designed space provides an inviting yet high-performance environment tailored for personal training and fitness sessions. Project Scope & Features: Design & Permitting - We prepared concept design layouts that we converted to construction drawings. We prepared and submitted all permitting applications for this home based business and provided client representation through each phase of the project up to and including final occupancy inspection. Space Planning & Layout Optimization – We maximized the existing footprint for optimal functionality, ensuring seamless equipment placement, circulation, and safety. Flooring Selection – We installed durable, shock-absorbing gym flooring to support high-impact training and reduce noise transfer. An existing wine cellar in a La Jolla, San Diego home was expanded to accommodate the growing collection of the owner. We worked on this project twice. The first installation was completed in 2008. After about 5 years, the client requested us to double the capacity of their wine room, but maintain the contemporary design. We added new sections to the existing racking to provide additional space for more wines. Stunning Wine Cellar for a Contemporary Home We completed a wine cellar installation project in La Jolla, an affluent city of San Diego, California, where we had to match the contemporary design of the home. The beautiful residential space was originally built with glass and wood. All the woodworking was constructed from Sapele Mahogany, which is common in many parts of the house. The cabinetry and furniture had to be the same tone and material. We have worked on this project twice. The first time was in 2008 and the second one was in 2013. We needed to expand and double the size of the custom wine cellar. A very integral part of this homeowner’s life is their wine and the collecting of wine. Our main goal was to create a racking design that consists of various orientations to allow the owner to store different sizes of bottles. Racking Features of the La Jolla Custom Wine Cellar The original room was constructed when the home was built. The architect, designing team, and contractor gave us a palette to match the existing cabinetry. The owners didn’t know what their needs were going to be. When they buy cases of wine, for example, they just put some of the bottles in the diamond bins and some in individual bottle spaces. In 2013, we tried to make the racking as universal as possible. The original capacity of the wine room was 1,100 bottles. It increased to 1,624 after the expansion of the space and adding more wine racks. Elevation 1 The first area of the room consists of racking for individual storage at the top section, with a VC-style cover for concealing the evaporator. There are diamond bins in the middle that can store nine bottles in each opening. We added many slots for large format bottles below the diamond bins because the owners stored bigger bottles in the first room, as big as 9 liters. What we did was to open up a couple of spaces to create a wider wine storage area. The whole racking in this area has a solid end panel. We took out the vertical supports and put the beam supports across to bear the load. We incorporated a coved tray feature to allow the owners to get a feel for the beautiful bottles in their collection. The large format bottles are stored in various heights, resulting in a cascading wine display. This style of racking allows for easy visibility of the wine labels. We installed LED lighting above this area to illuminate the space dramatically without emitting too much heat. Elevation 2 The next racking is labeled Elevation 2, which is the left wall that you will pass by before you go into the other storage area. It consists of horizontal display racks that can store both standard and larger bottles. These display racks, which are 8 ¼” deep, were installed with lighting and mirror at the back. The middle section has two glass shelves that provide an area for the client’s wine cellar accessories and mini car collection. Elevation 3 On the 3rd Elevation, the top racking includes slots with twelve coved trays and six solid backs. We added new individual column wine racks, and custom cabinets with scalloped neck supports to the existing cabinetry. Now, the total capacity of the individual bottle racking is 384, and the custom cabinets can accommodate 34 bottles. There is a double deep Sapele Mahogany tabletop where we installed very large steel supports under it. This will provide structural stability for bearing the weight of this big case storage area. The homeowner buys a lot of wine, so he wanted to have an area where he could stack all the boxes. He didn’t want the boxes to occupy the area at the front. With this feature, he could just bring the wines directly to this storage area, without affecting the aesthetic appeal of the front entrance of his La Jolla custom wine cellar. Elevations 4 and 5 The next wall is Elevation 4, which consists of wine racks for 98 magnum bottles. The top most section has a VC-style evaporator cover. Elevation 5 (in front of elevation 3), had twelve coved trays, 16-bottle custom cabinets with scalloped neck supports, and one hundred eighty individual storage slots. After adding new sections, we ended up having sixteen coved trays, 26-bottle custom cabinets, and 288 individual bottle racking. Rolling Ladder for Easy Access of Wines Another factor that we consider when designing a wine room is the convenience in accessing the bottles. Since the ceiling of this La Jolla custom wine cellar was tall (about 124” height), we added a hook rolling ladder. A hook ladder has fixtures that allow it to slide along the rail and can be lifted off the rail if you want to transfer it to another section of the racking on a different wall. A 200 SF addition to an existing master bedroom, this master bath and closet has created a much needed spa-like retreat to an already beautiful home. The ceramic tile floor resembles a lighter hardwood to match the rest of the home, but offers the resiliency of tile for the wet conditions of the bathroom. A double floating vanity offers plenty of storage, and four skylights and a large window offer enough natural light that artificial lighting is rarely used during the day. The shower ceramic tile resembles marble, but allows for an easier hard surface to clean and maintain. The brass fixtures allow for a warm contrast to the cool grays, and are a great alternative to the typical stainless steel or brushed aluminum look. The brass also compliments the tile floor, as does the light grey vanity color and the brass color accents in the shower tile and vanity backsplash. A small passage just before the entrance to the bathroom allows for storage space in the form of two built-in white cabinets on either side. A sliding pocket door with privacy glass provides privacy while transferring natural light from one space to the next. The overall feel is inviting and peaceful, with a natural charm brought about by the materials and colors chosen to complete this spa-like retreat.

This North Dartmouth, MA homeowner is enjoying her beautiful year round sunroom! After years of wanting a sunny retreat for her home – this customer finally hired Care Free Homes to make that sunroom dream a reality! Featuring Low E Argon, insulated, double pane windows and a scenisunroom dartmouth, mac view of her backyard, the homeowner chose sliding windows (one active and one fixed) to invite a gentle breeze in warmer weather. A single, full view, thermal insulated passage door steps out to the backyard.
