The front elevation of this home got a makeover with new Marvin Windows and Doors. Originally the home had a single front door with two sidelights. The entire assembly was removed and we installed a Marvin double front door. Going from a builder grade, single door to the Marvin Elevate Swinging French Doors really set this house apart, creating an elegant front entry. A bronze exterior clad was chosen, while the interior wood was stained to match the home’s original trim color. Two twin casement windows and one single casement window were removed. These were replaced with Marvin Ultimate Casement windows. These Marvin Signature Series windows have an extruded aluminum exterior, and a rich wood interior. Like the front doors, all the new windows were stained to match the existing trim. The doors and windows were all stained prior to installation. This kept installation time to a minimum, inconveniencing the homeowners as little as possible. All the windows open quickly and easily with a crank out operation. The windows offer a contemporary option with a flush exterior and narrow jamb. These windows have a sleek design and narrow jamb which makes them ideal for replacement applications, minimizing the tear-down of existing frames and walls. Their unique wash mode allows access to both sides of glass from inside the home. The doors and windows have the Marvin Simulated Divided Lite (SDL) grill design which is an energy-efficient way to create the look of authentic divided lites. SDL bars are permanently adhered to both sides of the glass. They are available with or without a spacer bar installed between the glass to create even more depth. Beyond a fresh, new look these Marvin Windows and Doors have increased the value of this home, and made it more energy efficient. From the street, we kept the 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom addition on the top concealed by a simple shed dormer which reduces the impression of bulk and keeps the house looking cozy and comfortable. A custom entry vestibule preserves the character of this 1930s Tudor home, using the original exterior stone arches to seamlessly frame a fully custom Kolbe arched-top glass and wood door. The door's sash features a Gothic-shaped head, paired with a half-round casement window fitted with true divided lites to match. All exterior wood is treated for protection against water, insects, and fungus. The floor is finished in white gloss porcelain Tile, laid in a geometric diamond pattern that plays off the curved stone walls.

It is a classic Mediterranean Revival in the Floridian tradition of Mizner.” This single-family residential home in Gables Estates, Coral Gables, Florida, successfully pays respect to the architecture of the Mediterranean and Renaissance Italian styles. From the use of courtyards to the high level of detailing, this project emphasizes the most picturesque and expressive qualities of these styles. The residence reflects the visions of two of Coral Gables’ first architects, who designed beautiful and timeless architecture in this garden city to become a lasting piece in the landscape. This project not only captures the breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay, but with timeless style and lush landscaping, it creates a centerpiece for the view from the bay to Coral Gables. The home is designed as a long gallery, with spaces connected by courtyards and public realms. Another large inspiration for this project was the idea of the garden and landscape. With Coral Gables as a garden city, landscape became an integral part of the conception and design. The durability of Marvin products, their ability to stand up to the South Florida climate, as well as the Marvin attention to detail and proportion, made them the perfect choice to employ in a project of such high standards. The range of products allowed the freedom of design to explore all possibilities and turn visions into reality. The result was a lasting piece of architecture that would reflect a level of detail in every part of its structure. When a client tells us they’re a mid-century collector and long for a kitchen design unlike any other we are only too happy to oblige. This kitchen is saturated in mid-century charm and its custom features make it difficult to pin-point our favorite aspect! Cabinetry We had the pleasure of partnering with one of our favorite Denver cabinet shops to make our walnut dreams come true! We were able to include a multitude of custom features in this kitchen including frosted glass doors in the island, open cubbies, a hidden cutting board, and great interior cabinet storage. But what really catapults these kitchen cabinets to the next level is the eye-popping angled wall cabinets with sliding doors, a true throwback to the magic of the mid-century kitchen. Streamline brushed brass cabinetry pulls provided the perfect lux accent against the handsome walnut finish of the slab cabinetry doors. Tile Amidst all the warm clean lines of this mid-century kitchen we wanted to add a splash of color and pattern, and a funky backsplash tile did the trick! We utilized a handmade yellow picket tile with a high variation to give us a bit of depth; and incorporated randomly placed white accent tiles for added interest and to compliment the white sliding doors of the angled cabinets, helping to bring all the materials together. Counter We utilized a quartz along the counter tops that merged lighter tones with the warm tones of the cabinetry. The custom integrated drain board (in a starburst pattern of course) means they won’t have to clutter their island with a large drying rack. As an added bonus, the cooktop is recessed into the counter, to create an installation flush with the counter surface. Stair Rail Not wanting to miss an opportunity to add a touch of geometric fun to this home, we designed a custom steel handrail. The zig-zag design plays well with the angles of the picket tiles and the black finish ties in beautifully with the black metal accents in the kitchen. Lighting We removed the original florescent light box from this kitchen and replaced it with clean recessed lights with accents of recessed undercabinet lighting and a terrifically vintage fixture over the island that pulls together the black and brushed brass metal finishes throughout the space. This kitchen has transformed into a strikingly unique space creating the perfect home for our client’s mid-century treasures.

Teak lift and slide doors open the pool house to the pool patio. These doors have a Tung Oil finish, True Divided Lites and medium exposure threshold to help with the direct exposure to ocean, sun, wind and salt.

Many Georgian buildings are grand in stature and require a suitably well-proportioned structure when designing a glazed addition. To Provide stable functioning doors, it is often necessary to incorporate a clerestory panel above to achieve the required height. these often include decorative architectural detail, enhancing the overall appearance of the building.
