When a 7 year old Brooklyn hip-kid is also an animal lover, you get this woodland boy's room, designed to grow and maximize storage. This small kid's bedroom features a storage bed, wall shelves, a spacious desk hutch, and a storage ottoman to accommodate ample toys and books, as well as a custom designed closet to suit a growing child's needs. Hipster Animals removable wallpaper is fun for a 7 year old, but still cheeky and cool enough for a teen. And while woodland animals abound, they are balanced by mature decor elements like neutral colors, dark blues, boyish plaid, and chic wool and leather textures meant to grow with child. This room is one of our favorite small space designs - it's fun, personalized, and makes the space look bigger--while also providing storage and function. These renovated bathrooms blend sleek, modern design with functional elegance. The space features clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic, highlighted by neutral tones of soft greys and whites. A large frameless glass shower with a rainfall showerhead takes center stage, complemented by smooth, matte black fixtures for a striking contrast. The floating vanity, with a white marble countertop, is paired with a large mirror that spans the wall, creating an open, airy feel. Textured tiles in a geometric pattern adorn the floor, adding subtle interest, while underfloor heating provides added comfort. The overall atmosphere is calm, bright, and sophisticated, with an emphasis on both style and practicality.

This Rainbow Fish Mural runs throughout all three rooms of this Jack & Jill bath. Built-in pullout stools that look like drawers make using the sink easy for little kids. A bright, inviting powder room with beautiful tile accents behind the taps. A built-in dark-wood furniture vanity with plenty of space for needed items. A red oak hardwood floor pairs well with the burnt orange wall color. The wall paint is AF-280 Salsa Dancing from Benjamin Moore.

A new home can be beautiful, yet lack soul. For a family with exquisite taste, and a love of the artisan and bespoke, LiLu created a layered palette of furnishings that express each family member’s personality and values. One child, who loves Jackson Pollock, received a window seat from which to enjoy the ceiling’s lively splatter wallpaper. The other child, a young gentleman, has a navy tweed upholstered headboard and plaid club chair with leather ottoman. Elsewhere, sustainably sourced items have provenance and meaning, including a LiLu-designed powder-room vanity with marble top, a Dunes and Duchess table, Italian drapery with beautiful trimmings, Galbraith & Panel wallcoverings, and a bubble table. After working with LiLu, the family’s house has become their home. ---- Project designed by Minneapolis interior design studio LiLu Interiors.
