A space that was only used as a pass through now has become a daily destination. Located in pastoral Great Falls, VA, just outside of Washington D.C., this sunroom needed to be a welcoming year round retreat for an active family of four. Inspired by resort lifestyle, the space was reconstructed using the same footprint as before, adding floor to ceiling windows. Air conditioning and underlayment heat under new wood-look porcelain tile were added to ensure the room could be enjoyed no matter what season. Sunbrella fabrics were used on the settee and chairs that will stand up to wet bathing suits and barbeques. Game room for a family beach house in Galveston, TX. The owner has an art collection he wanted to display so we gave him walls he could use for a blank canvas. Custom playful ceiling design is meant to give the room an unexpected twist of interest while keeping the walls nice and open for the art to be displayed. We paneled the elevator and a vintage gate to coordinate with the rest of the room. Wide/long plank LVP with a thick underlayment/pad was selected for durability and easy cleaning of sand and sea water.

This home in Johnstown needed a new roof and better attic ventilation. This home does not have soffits, so we used Cobra Intake Pro to provide more intake of fresh air into the attic. Vinyl plank flooring is a great way to improve your floor without spending lots of time and money. The quality of recent products are quite high and it has many colors, shades and designs to replicate hardwood or natural stones. Also, some are waterproof and can be used in bathrooms and kitchens. Many planks are already attached with underlayment, which saves on labor and material costs during installation. (see some product at Home Depot page) A few weeks ago, a client asked me to install waterproof vinyl plank flooring in the kitchen and bathroom. Both spaces were relatively small and I was able to install them in several hours and applied new baseboards the next day. I really liked the client’s choice with the lighter theme and rectangle tile shape. As you can see in the photo, it lightened up the bathroom significantly as well as giving it a clean, modern look.
