Design Services Provided - Architect was asked to convert this 1950's Split Level Style home into a Traditional Style home with a 2-story height grand entry foyer. The new design includes modern amenities such as a large 'Open Plan' kitchen, a family room, a home office, an oversized garage, spacious bedrooms with large closets, a second floor laundry room and a private master bedroom suite for the owners that includes two walk-in closets and a grand master bathroom with a vaulted ceiling. The Architect presented the new design using Professional 3D Design Software. This approach allowed the Owners to clearly understand the proposed design and secondly, it was beneficial to the Contractors who prepared Preliminary Cost Estimates. The construction duration was nine months and the project was completed in September 2015. The client is thrilled with the end results! We established a wonderful working relationship and a lifetime friendship. I am truly thankful for this opportunity to design this home and work with this client!

In the divide between the kitchen and family room, we built storage into the buffet. We applied moulding to the columns for an updated and clean look. Sleek and contemporary, this beautiful home is located in Villanova, PA. Blue, white and gold are the palette of this transitional design. With custom touches and an emphasis on flow and an open floor plan, the renovation included the kitchen, family room, butler’s pantry, mudroom, two powder rooms and floors. This hand painted mural of Giants Stadium Graffiti is in my son's room. The letters of his name (Lucas) create a frame for the stadium. Bricks, crumbling plaster and water stains, add an urban grunge feel perfect for an up and coming teenager. All the elements were hashed out clearly with my son ahead of time. We even had a signed contract. He had stipulated bubble letters, and when I decided to make it more angular, he was up in arms about the "breach in contract". In the end, he decided how it turned out was better than he could have imagined. He also has a better understanding of "artistic license".

The layout of this colonial-style house lacked the open, coastal feel the homeowners wanted for their summer retreat. Siemasko + Verbridge worked with the homeowners to understand their goals and priorities: gourmet kitchen; open first floor with casual, connected lounging and entertaining spaces; an out-of-the-way area for laundry and a powder room; a home office; and overall, give the home a lighter and more “airy” feel. SV’s design team reprogrammed the first floor to successfully achieve these goals. SV relocated the kitchen to what had been an underutilized family room and moved the dining room to the location of the existing kitchen. This shift allowed for better alignment with the existing living spaces and improved flow through the rooms. The existing powder room and laundry closet, which opened directly into the dining room, were moved and are now tucked in a lower traffic area that connects the garage entrance to the kitchen. A new entry closet and home office were incorporated into the front of the house to define a well-proportioned entry space with a view of the new kitchen. By making use of the existing cathedral ceilings, adding windows in key locations, removing very few walls, and introducing a lighter color palette with contemporary materials, this summer cottage now exudes the light and airiness this home was meant to have. © Dan Cutrona Photography

This country estate was inspired by the stone cottages dotting the beautiful English Cotswolds. With a large parcel of land, the design of the house was stretched along the east – west axis to maximize the natural light and views of the serene setting. Main spaces were created with offsets to allow multiple walls of windows and combining this effect, tall ceilings with floor to ceiling windows allow the natural light to be dispersed throughout the house. After many discussions with our clients, we were able to understand the living patterns, likes and dislikes of the family. With this understanding, the design was articulated to best accommodate their lifestyle in a beautiful and uplifting manner.
