This project was one that we loved doing! Our client was a single Dad with a teen daughter who needed a space where she could read, study and entertain her friends other than in her bedroom. Our solution was to design a hip, somewhat retro-inspired room that had formerly been an unused sunroom. She loved the calm, blue color palette and felt that she now had a space that was "all hers."

This project was an exercise in minimalism — how it can be embraced and incorporated at multiple levels. Typical of San Franciscan Victorians, the dark interior of this home was segregated and circulation spaces were narrow and dark. The stairs to the upper level was an afterthought and tucked away.
By removing the walls and rebuilding the stairs, we shifted the focus of this home’s interior and made the stairs the focal point. This project pays homage to the stairs, a critical element in the function and tone the home sets. As a transitional element, it carries the user from level to level, function to function, and mindset to mindset. The goal of this remodel was to invite the user upstairs and offer a more integrated transition to the upper level while at the same time using it to create a shaft of light into the inner recesses of the living space below.
As one ascends the stairs, the floor gradually disappears revealing a naked structural spine as the stairs reaches the upper level. The dormer addition offered ample headspace and invites columns of light to penetrate below. The cantilevered floor and shadow play this offers, dynamically marks its imprint on both levels.
Ancillary and storage spaces tucked away neatly and delicately – reminding us that expression should not be at the expense of function. Delicate and clean food preparation areas — now integrated with the rest of the home — invite us to celebrate this expression of unity.

The temple features a futuristic design with spherical domes, highlighted by illuminated seams that hint at advanced construction techniques. This architectural marvel combines the sleekness of modern design with the timelessness of spiritual spaces. Ambient light filters through the dome, casting a soft glow and creating a serene, otherworldly atmosphere for contemplation and worship.

This family room and kitchen area works seamlessly together to create a feeling of unity. The vaulted ceilings over the family room subtly draw the eye up and quietly divides the two spaces. The chandeliers in the kitchen area create a cozy atmosphere. The trim around the sliding glass doors and the dining room window are framed in white. The kitchen island is seen to be quite spacious and can easily seat six people.

Located in the coveted West End of downtown Greenville, SC, Park Place on Hudson St. brings new living to old Greenville. Just a half-mile from Flour Field, a short walk to the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and steps away from the future Unity Park, this community is ideal for families young and old. The craftsman style town home community consists of twenty-three units, thirteen with 3 beds/2.5 baths and ten with 2 beds/2.5baths.
The design concept they came up with was simple – three separate buildings with two basic floors plans that were fully customizable. Each unit came standard with an elevator, hardwood floors, high-end Kitchen Aid appliances, Moen plumbing fixtures, tile showers, granite countertops, wood shelving in all closets, LED recessed lighting in all rooms, private balconies with built-in grill stations and large sliding glass doors. While the outside craftsman design with large front and back porches was set by the city, the interiors were fully customizable. The homeowners would meet with a designer at the Park Place on Hudson Showroom to pick from a selection of standard options, all items that would go in their home. From cabinets to door handles, from tile to paint colors, there was virtually no interior feature that the owners did not have the option to choose. They also had the ability to fully customize their unit with upgrades by meeting with each vendor individually and selecting the products for their home – some of the owners even choose to re-design the floor plans to better fit their lifestyle.

When a design-build kitchen remodel and interior design are in unison, it means that the process of renovating or creating a new kitchen is seamlessly integrated with the overall aesthetic and functional goals of the entire interior space. This unified approach ensures that every aspect of the kitchen remodel aligns with and enhances the broader design vision for the home. This stunning Ijamsville Maryland home renovation is an example of that unity in a project.

The interiors of this loft bridge the gap between downtown Chicago and the rapidly-developing Fulton Market neighborhood. A study in contrasts, each space
was designed to feel modern yet comfortable, sleek yet cozy, and raw yet refined.
Throughout the property, materials, finishes, art and furniture create unity, hierarchy, and distinction between the various public and private spaces.
Present on every level, raw concrete columns expose the building’s frame and connect every space of the structure. Likewise, the exposed poured-in-place concrete core remains visible on every floor. Raw, heavy metals and dark finishes further expand the material expression; while wood is used on the ceiling to signal social spaces.
Street art from the site was repurposed throughout the property as wayfinding. The art brings the history of the neighborhood inside the building and creates a distinct identity for each level. Furnishings reflect the contemporary design of the building and the industrial history of the neighborhood. The pieces are raw and layered, merging black pipe, upholstery, leather, and steel into a single contemporary design. Outfitted with simple, sculptural forms, softened with woven textures and rounded corners, the design takes advantage of the sweeping downtown views afforded by the building’s rounded facade.
