In this kitchen we updated the existing cabinetry with new Top Knobs Edwardian Lund Pulls & Knobs. A Distressed Medallion Designer Maple Island in Black Heirloom with caffe glaze was added to accent the room. Instead of a typical sink an undermount 4’ Galley workstation was installed. Accessories for the Galley included an upper tier cutting board, an 11” bowl, an 11” colander, 1 lower tier platform with cutout for bowl/colander, 1 lower tier platform and a galley drain rack. For the faucet, we installed a new Delta Pilar Single Handle Pull Down faucet with Touch 20 Technology in brushed nickel and a drinking water faucet. A new 3cm Cambria Quartz countertop in Canterbury color was installed. The backsplash is 4x4 San Mateo honed tumbled tile with San Mateo pencil molding and San Mateo 2x2 rope border behind the range accented with 1x1 Sonoma glass tiles in Hemp color.

The Challenge
This original mid-century Colorado Springs home hadn’t been updated in 40 years. We were tasked with transforming a dysfunctional, outdated space into a seamless design that maintained the integrity of the original architecture - including a challenging layout, seven different flooring types, and old lighting and electrical.
The Solution
Within a limited budget we streamlined the finish palette with natural materials to play with the concept of indoor/outdoor living; gutted the bedrooms and combined two guest rooms into one large master suite; updated the electrical with recessed cans and Noguchi fixtures (which pay homage to the home’s 1960s roots); and filled the home with new furniture and accessories that speak to the homeowner’s love of modern design.

The client's request was to continue the spa-like environment Dona Rosene Interiors had just completed in the adjacent master bathroom (see Ethereal Bath) into the Master Bedroom. An elegant, antique silver finished chandelier replaced the ceiling fan. An upholstered headboard & tailored bed-skirt in the ethereal gray green linen compliments the geometric fabric used on the pillows & drapery panels framing the shutters and hanging from a bronze rod. The 3,400 SF, 3 – bedroom, 3 ½ bath main house feels larger than it is because we pulled the kids’ bedroom wing and master suite wing out from the public spaces and connected all three with a TV Den.
Convenient ranch house features include a porte cochere at the side entrance to the mud room, a utility/sewing room near the kitchen, and covered porches that wrap two sides of the pool terrace.
We designed a separate icehouse to showcase the owner’s unique collection of Texas memorabilia. The building includes a guest suite and a comfortable porch overlooking the pool.
The main house and icehouse utilize reclaimed wood siding, brick, stone, tie, tin, and timbers alongside appropriate new materials to add a feeling of age.

Sliding barn doors not only look awesome they serve a purpose here of preventing swinging doors getting in the way in a small space. The barn door to the bathroom doubles as a door over another small closet with-in the master closet.
H2 Llc provided the closet organization with in the closet working closely with the homeowners to obtain the perfect closet organization. This is such an improvement over the small reach-in closet that was removed to make a space for the walk-in closet.

Our clients had been in their home since the early 1980’s and decided it was time for some updates. We took on the kitchen, two bathrooms and a powder room.
We started first on the hall bath which was basically just in need of a face lift. The floor is porcelain tile made to look like carrera marble. The vanity is white Shaker doors fitted with a white quartz top. We re-glazed the cast iron tub.
