A new custom home for a client that asked for a French Country Chateau. We used real stone at the foundation; true stucco-on-masonry for the walls; operable wood shutters; and real stone sills and headers. A truly authentic construction on not-a-large lot. The space over the garage is an exceptional artwork studio.

The Alta Vista hardwood collection is a return to vintage European Design. These beautiful classic and refined floors are crafted out of European Oak, a premier hardwood species that has been used for everything from flooring to shipbuilding over the centuries due to its stability. The floors feature Hallmark Floors’ authentic sawn-cut style, are lightly sculpted and wire brushed by hand. The boards are of generous widths and lengths, and the surface is treated with our exclusive Nu Oil® finish for a classic style and elegance.

The main design goal of this Northern European country style home was to use traditional, authentic materials that would have been used ages ago. ORIJIN STONE premium stone was selected as one such material, taking the main stage throughout key living areas including the custom hand carved Alder™ Limestone fireplace in the living room, as well as the master bedroom Alder fireplace surround, the Greydon™ Sandstone cobbles used for flooring in the den, porch and dining room as well as the front walk, and for the Greydon Sandstone paving & treads forming the front entrance steps and landing, throughout the garden walkways and patios and surrounding the beautiful pool. This home was designed and built to withstand both trends and time, a true & charming heirloom estate.

For this project, the Villagio pavers were used in this small backyard to create an authentic vintage & classic look. These pavers were inspired by Montreal’s beautiful century-old streets. This pavement is also de-icing salt resistant, withstands harsh climates. Perfect for patios, walkways, driveways and decorative bandings. Vehicular & pedestrian friendly.

This Prairie Style home uses many design details on both the exterior & interior that is inspired by the prairie landscape that it is nestled into. I love this guest bath! The cabinet was made by the custom cabinet maker and we made it look like a piece of furniture. Paint is Pittsburgh Paint Ponytail 315-4.

Some things are just meant to be together–like olive tile and midcentury modern design. This kitchen happily combined the two, choosing a classic 2x2 Mosaic Tile in Sap Green Satin that lends the space an air of authenticity with its earthy, subtle sheen.

This MossCreek custom designed family retreat features several historically authentic and preserved log cabins that were used as the basis for the design of several individual homes. MossCreek worked closely with the client to develop unique new structures with period-correct details from a remarkable collection of antique homes, all of which were disassembled, moved, and then reassembled at the project site. This project is an excellent example of MossCreek's ability to incorporate the past in to a new home for the ages. Photo by Erwin Loveland
