For this project in Ambleside, we created a made-to-measure fitted bedroom. The goal was to maximise storage and dressing space without overpowering the room, as it had many windows with views to be admired. We selected Daval’s Made-to-Measure Fitted Bedroom Furniture, which allowed for flexibility in design. It features a backlite headboard panel, bedside chests with LED reading lights, and USB points with lighting controls easily accessible. A mirror-fronted wardrobe placed at a corner utilises the space beautifully for full-hanging storage while doubling as a dressing mirror. The design also features his-and-hers dressing areas so the couple can have their own dedicated spaces. Chests were strategically positioned, providing extra storage for small items while adding warmth and balance to the design. They had an ensuite bathroom with an alcove area outside, perfect for a run of robes for extra storage, with everything behind closed doors. This bedroom was thoughtfully designed by Mike Hughes and expertly installed by our skilled installation team. Halmann Vella was the main supplier of natural stone and assisted in the construction of the M&G Garden, one of the main gardens at the 2017 Chelsea Flower Show. The garden, which was designed by James Basson, director of Scape Design, was awarded a Gold Medal as well as the prestigious award for Best Show Garden and Best Construction. The garden was modelled on the Maltese landscape, particularly a disused Maltese quarry and utilised Maltese stone as well as a number of plants which are endemic to Malta. The garden took a whole year of planning and production. The stone was quarried in Malta and Gozo and eventually fabricated in Halmann Vella’s stone processing facility in Hal Far. During this process, both James Basson and Mark Fane, from the main contracting company Crocus, visited the company’s premises a number of times to supervise the process. Once finished the materials were packed and shipped to London, where a team of 8 Halmann Vella employees, lead by Contracts Manager Josef Zammit and Hugh Vella, Director of Operations at Halmann Vella, installed and finished the stone on site. Paterson of Oldmeldrum masterfully transformed a challenging turret space into a luxurious bespoke whisky room. This custom design required extensive planning, utilising SketchUp to visualise the final result. The 2.2-meter diameter turret, previously a cramped entrance, demanded creative bespoke furniture solutions. We meticulously crafted curved and radial units from natural oak, recreating the space in our workshop to ensure a perfect fit. The intricate project included integrated lighting provisions, with concealed cable pathways. After manufacturing, the entire installation was lacquered for a flawless finish. On-site installation required exceptional precision, with our team expertly adjusting the units to fit within a 2-millimeter tolerance. This luxury room design showcases our expertise in bespoke craftsmanship and fitted furniture, demonstrating our ability to overcome complex spatial challenges. The whisky room now serves as a stunning focal point, highlighting our dedication to quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction.

The design of this four bedroom Upper West Side apartment involved the complete renovation of one half of the unit and the remodeling of the other half. The main living space includes a foyer, lounge, library, kitchen and island. The library can be converted into the fourth bedroom by deploying a series of sliding/folding glass doors together with a pivoting wall panel to separate it from the rest of the living area. The kitchen is delineated as a special space within the open floor plan by virtue of a folded wooden volume around the island - inviting casual congregation and dining. All three bathrooms were designed with a common language of modern finishes and fixtures, with functional variations depending on their location within the apartment. New closets serve each bedroom as well as the foyer and lounge spaces. Materials are kept to a limited palette of dark stained wood flooring, American Walnut for bathroom vanities and the kitchen island, white gloss and lacquer finish cabinetry, and translucent glass door panelling with natural anodized aluminum trim. The scope included a bluestone patio, horizontal cedar fence with built in planters and bench with storage. Overhead cafe string lights and a pendant fixture allow this family to enjoy their garden after dark.
