A professional couple with an active family preferred traditional design, and needed to add warmth to the Dining Room without blocking the light the window provided. A valance would not have been able to be raised above the window very much, due to the generous crown moulding. But an extremely wide triple window needed to be cohesive. A center embellishment on the drapery hardware unified the two side panels. Cafe shutters provide sufficient privacy while letting in the light and few of the blooming dwarf ornamental tree outside.A William Morris fabric design called Snakeshead was a perfect match to existing striped chair seats. The drapery is pleated to pattern, and has a godet inset in a contrasting green.

This is a close-up of the drapery fabric. We used goblet pleats to add just a touch of formality, since this is the home's only dining area. We used architectural finials on the drapery rod to go with the style of the living room and incorporate some common elements.
