Curated Classic Designer: Amy Van Wie Cabinetry: Brookhaven I – Frameless Cabinetry Wood: Maple and Knotty Cherry Finishes: White Lace on Maple; Matte Bistro on Knotty Cherry Door: Perimeter – Fremont Recessed; Island and Hutch – Fremont Raised Countertop: Kitchen and Island – Barroca Soapstone; Hutch – Bianco Carrera Marble Awards 2013 Showcase of Homes, Executive Homes Runner-up – Best Kitchen Featured in the 2013 Showcase of Homes, the kitchen of this stunning home needed to be extraordinary. With 9 foot ceilings, special height cabinet panels were designed at 45″. The maple cabinetry from Brookhaven was installed along the perimeter of the space and finished in white lace with Fremont Recessed doors. To mix and match different styles and finishes, the island and hutch were designed in knotty cherry, with Fremont raised doors and matte bistro finish. Barroca Soapstone tops off the kitchen and island cabinets and a 3cm thick sheet of Bianco Carrera Marble tops off the hutch. The finishing touches were the details including oil rubbed bronze bin pulls and knobs, split panel doors with glass walls along the range wall and custom panels to cover the refrigerator. For the hutch, mullion glass doors and bead board accents with matching wood knobs and corbels finished the design.

Inspiration for a huge transitional women's dark wood floor walk-in closet remodel in Chicago with flat-panel cabinets and white cabinets

Transforming this kitchen into the wide open space that it is took several products to complete. Starting with the Holiday Kitchens Cabinetry, this couple used Character Hickory with a Canterbury door style to give their home a cabin feel. The lighter perimeter cabinets were done in an Autumn stain while the island used the contrasting Granite stain. The tops were also used to create contrast. Both Cambria quartz, the perimeter is Blackwood while the island features Annica. Blanco sinks accessorize the quartz. The main sink is Anthracite while the bar sink is metallic gray. Delta Trinsic touchless faucets in matte black go well with these sinks. Creating a statement with the backsplash took the help of Interceramic tiles. The design behind the stove & hood was achieved with Union Square 8x8 tiles in their Madison pattern. Subway tiles in a 3x6 size were used for the rest of the surround in the colors Matte White & Graphite. Other amenities in this kitchen include a microwave drawer, several pullouts, and stools from Holland Bar Stool. The stools are comprised of black metal with cinder seat cushions. Lastly, the vinyl tile flooring run throughout this great room was presented by Karndean's Van Gogh line. The color chosen was Reclaimed Redwood. *Note: the lighting fixtures and appliances were provided by the customer.

Kowalske Kitchen & Bath was hired as the bathroom remodeling contractor for this Delafield master bath and closet. This black and white boho bathrooom has industrial touches and warm wood accents. The original space was like a labyrinth, with a complicated layout of walls and doors. The homeowners wanted to improve the functionality and modernize the space. The main entry of the bathroom/closet was a single door that lead to the vanity. Around the left was the closet and around the right was the rest of the bathroom. The bathroom area consisted of two separate closets, a bathtub/shower combo, a small walk-in shower and a toilet. To fix the choppy layout, we separated the two spaces with separate doors – one to the master closet and one to the bathroom. We installed pocket doors for each doorway to keep a streamlined look and save space. BLACK & WHITE BOHO BATHROOM This master bath is a light, airy space with a boho vibe. The couple opted for a large walk-in shower featuring a Dreamline Shower enclosure. Moving the shower to the corner gave us room for a black vanity, quartz counters, two sinks, and plenty of storage and counter space. The toilet is tucked in the far corner behind a half wall. BOHO DESIGN The design is contemporary and features black and white finishes. We used a white cararra marble hexagon tile for the backsplash and the shower floor. The Hinkley light fixtures are matte black and chrome. The space is warmed up with luxury vinyl plank wood flooring and a teak shelf in the shower.
