Family room - large coastal open concept medium tone wood floor family room idea in Dallas with white walls, a corner fireplace, a stone fireplace and a wall-mounted tv

Set in a downtown Kirkland neighborhood, the 1st Street project captures the best of suburban living. The open floor plan brings kitchen, dining, and living space within reach, and rich wood beams, shiplap, and stone accents add timeless texture with a modern twist. Four bedrooms and a sprawling daylight basement create distinct spaces for family life, and the finished covered patio invites residents to breathe in the best of Pacific Northwest summers.

Countertop space is the ultimate luxury -- we made sure that these homeowners had plenty of space to bake, make pizza...This black quartz with dramatic white veining is a breeze to keep clean and requires little to no maintenance.
If anyone asks -- we are 100% team "sofas belong in the kitchen". Life happens in the kitchen! Upholstered in linen, the sofa is petite yet ultra comfortable for dining. These rounded black cane chairs are soft but modern for this young family.

Bedroom - large transitional master light wood floor and beige floor bedroom idea in Omaha with gray walls and no fireplace

Bask in the sunlight streaming into this minimalist haven in the heart of the Hollywood Hills. Clean lines and a muted color palette create a serene atmosphere, allowing the iconic Eames La Chaise lounge chair to take center stage. Its sculptural form and inviting curves beckon you to relax and unwind, while the plush white upholstery adds a touch of luxury.
A carefully curated gallery wall of black and white photography adorns the wall, adding depth and visual interest to the space. Each photograph, meticulously framed in black, tells a story of mid-century modern architecture and California's rich cultural heritage. The interplay of light and shadow in the photographs creates a dramatic effect, further enhancing the room's artistic ambiance.
The room's minimalist design is punctuated by a few carefully chosen accents. A small, round side table, crafted from wrought iron and topped with a single yellow flower in a sleek vase, adds a touch of warmth and organic beauty. The stone floors, cool and smooth underfoot, provide a natural counterpoint to the softness of the lounge chair.
This sitting area is a sanctuary for the modern aesthete, a place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse oneself in the beauty of design and art. It is a space that celebrates the timeless elegance of mid-century modern furniture and the enduring appeal of California's iconic architecture.

Sometimes a room just needs a good jooshing! This room had great bones and we built the room around the pieces loved by the homeowners. Toile set the stage. A master bedroom is not complete without a beautiful bed to anchor the space. This beautiful, rustic, french-country side inspired bed frame provided the space to drape beautiful linens. The headboard and footboard are both tufted in striped velvet giving and plush and luxurious hand. Flanked on either side of the bed are two cream colored bombe nightstands with gorgeous crystal chandeliers installed directly over the pieces. Reupholstering the bench and reading chair gave new life to them. A truly romantic space!

This room is right off the entryway and features large southern exposure windows, stately moldings, a fireplace, and two showstopping built-ins.
The two arched built-ins were original to this early 1900's colonial home. They infused so much history and character into the room, and they were so much fun to style!
We used a mixture of natural and organic elements in the styling of the built-ins. Some of my favorite pieces include the large driftwood branch, alabaster shapes, oversized air plants, bone beads, and framed geo stones. I also love the funky objects and ceramic vases used throughout. Lastly, we used a mixture of plants to add life and visual interest to the display.

What really brings this space to life are all of the decorative accents incorporated throughout the room. On the console in front of the painted shutters, we layered it with vases filled with preserved palm fronds; woven demijohns; vintage books; photos of family; etc. All of these pieces, along with the Turkish pillows and custom pieces of art, add so much character and depth.
