Guests are dazzled by a plethora of custom electronic selections, incorporated into the latest technology in a cozy, yet high-end residential-style environment. The entire space is home to dozens of custom paintings by local artists and master-crafted wood works and built in cabinetry. The reception area is complimented with a 55” custom designed Art Screen TV with retractable art that rolls up into a motorized casing to reveal a 4K TV screen. The additional spaces show beautifully, with a modern family room, a sophisticated entertainment lounge, and fully functional, stocked wet bar. An acoustically treated 2-Channel listening room houses the finest in McIntosh audio equipment complete with a turntable. This room was designed for vinyl record or streaming music for ‘audiophile enthusiasts.’ The DeVance 18 seat movie theater boasts a state-of-the-art perforated ten foot screen, JBL Synthesis 7.1 surround sound system and crystal clear Runco projection system. Guests enjoy luxurious motorized leather theater seating complete with warm throws and leather ottomans for comfortable movie viewing. The DeVance restrooms continue the Electronic Lifestyle theme on a more personal level, as they are equipped with the top of the line sensor faucets and sinks by TOTO USA, Electric Mirror TVs and the ‘cleaner and greener’ electronic TOTO USA Washlets! The ultimate vision for the DeVance Experience was to create an environment unlike any retail storefront or big box shop, where a unique and exciting experience awaits existing and prospective clients, guests, trade partners and business associates. Theater millwork interiors by Mancave DFW, custom theater seating, leather furnishings, and wood tables by Touch of France, Silestone surfaces by Cosentino USA, stone fabrication services by A-A Marble also contributing exotic granite vanity tops, faucets, sinks and toilets by TOTO USA, and Kane theater carpeting by Natural Selections.

When an expanding family outgrew its beloved A frame vacation home, chaos followed. Outdoor gear multiplied exponentially, while any organized spot to stow it did not. Expected amenities were non-existent for needs of the crowd of outdoor enthusiasts. SV Design addressed the lacking elements and added practicality, with style: the multigenerational family members and friends can now appreciate space for the variety of hobbies and interests they pursue. Having worked with Siemasko + Verbridge in the past, the family turned to SV once again knowing we would design solution to address the growing list of concerns. SV’s design of a three-story addition with a relatively small footprint was just what the home needed. A covered entry now provides the option of entering the main house or stopping off in the mud room to remove boots, drop off skis, and hang up wet clothes. Regardless of the way you enter the main house you will be greeted with a naturally lit, welcoming staircase of reclaimed white oak timber treads and steel stringers and rails. Each newel post is capped off with a polished granite sphere to pay homage to the Granite State in which the house resides. The open stair invites you up to a spacious family space for playing board games, listening to music, gazing at the stars, or just lounging about in the warm comfort of the home. Traveling downstairs from the main level is a new, kid friendly media room for popcorn and movies, or a little video game sibling competition. Perhaps the most striking new feature of the home is the custom designed Adirondack style bar built of varying tones of willow branches and bank. Topped off with a contrasting aged zinc counter, backsplash and shelf the bar is the perfect spot for the resident bar tender to mix up a tasty concoction for sitting by the crackling fire just steps away. This home will provide comfort and ease for the family to relax and enjoy their getaway for years to come.

This kitchen addition project is an expansion of an old story and a half South Bozeman home. A complete demolition and rebuild of this structure would be the best course of action, but we are in a historic neighborhood and we will be working with it as is. Budget is an issue as well, so in addition to the second story addition, we are limiting our renovation efforts to the kitchen and bathroom areas at the back the house. We are making a concerted effort to not get into too much of the existing front half of this house. This is precisely the type of remodeling work that requires a very skilled and experienced builder. And I emphasize experienced. We are lucky to be working with Luke Stahlberg of Ibex Builders. Luke is a talented local Bozeman contractor with years of experience in the remodeling industry. Luke is very methodical and well organized. This is a classic remodeling project with enough detail to really test a contractor’s skill and experience.

Pierre Jean-Baptiste Interiors reimagined the space as it now exists using some of our clients few requirements including a stage for the family comedians at the rear of the lower level, a movie screening area, a serving table for frequent soiree’s, and cozy resilient furnishings. We infused style into this lower level changing the paint colors, adding new carpet to absorb sound and provide style. We also were sure to include color in the space strategically. Design Objectives: Create a Dark Theater Space: Ensure the room mimics a traditional movie theater environment. Provide Comfortable Theater Seating: Include enough seating for the family and guests. Integrate a Dry Bar Area: Include a space for snacks and drinks. Optimize Space Utilization: Maintain an open area for additional activities. Design Challenges: Natural light: The room was too bright for a theater setting. Seating: Accommodating six theater seats without obstructing views. Lighting: Ensuring the lighting does not interfere with the viewing experience. AV: Finding a clutter-free solution for AV equipment. Dry Bar: Incorporating a dry bar area without overcrowding the space. Viewing: Ensuring the TV placement allows for comfortable, optimized viewing. THE RENEWED SPACE Design Solutions: Natural Light Control: Installed blackout remote shades on the back window and painted the walls dark charcoal to reduce natural light infiltration. Seating Arrangement: Built a second level for the back row of seating to ensure unobstructed views for all movie watchers. Lighting Design: Installed sconces on either side of the window that shine from the sides (to avoid interfering with the viewing experience). AV Equipment Storage: Utilized existing recess areas with custom shelves matching the cabinetry and concealed cables using a PVC pipe system. Dry Bar Integration: Created a dry bar area on the back wall with a refrigerator, candy storage, and a small counter space for a popcorn machine and ice maker, with locked drawers to prevent unsupervised access. Optimal Viewing Distance: Evaluated multiple floor plans and placed the TV on the most suitable wall to ensure optimal viewing and comfortable reclined seating. Final Thoughts: The completed home theater has been a resounding success, providing a versatile space for the entire family. Bringing the inside out to expand the living area. This was an existing project where we retro wired and hid everything. Full surround sound with subs in the ground.

Our client in a small downtown Toronto home renovated, creating an open floor plan. They didn't want a TV on the wall so we mounted a Sony projector behind a pillar and used the existing painted wall above the fireplace as a theatre screen. The Marantz audio receiver was hidden in a nearby closet keeping with a clean minimal aesthetic. To create a home theatre surround sound experience, we placed three in-ceiling speakers above the fireplace and two above the sofa. We fitted the bay windows in the open living and dining room with sheer Lutron blinds. For strong Wi-Fi we installed a Ubiquiti network system strategically placing hard wired, wireless access points throught the home.
