A two-tiered island anchors the center of this gourmet kitchen and provides seating for guests to visit with the cooks. And who doesn't love a window over a sink?

A galley kitchen layout is as classic and efficient as it gets. Long narrow kitchen spaces that connect with other rooms are perfect candidates for this type of layout. With the sitting room beyond and the glass door to the back yard, this kitchen reads larger and becomes a true hub in the main level circulation pattern.
Painted gray base cabinets anchor glass front white upper cabinets. Although a more recent trend, cabinets of different colors is an old and traditional look, originally established decades ago when farm kitchens were modified in stages often with cabinets of different colors or finishes.

Soft warm color makes the atmosphere in this kitchen cozy and friendly. This kitchen uses the vertically functional zoning method. The upper cabinets are decorated in pure white, while the lower ones are in light brown.
This amazing color contrast divides the room into two vertical zones: the lower cabinets are in perfect harmony with the floor, finished in the same light brown color and the upper cabinets blend perfectly with the ceiling.

Brass is Back! A north Dallas kitchen with an eclectic vibe. The original kitchen was very small. We combined the kitchen, laundry room, dry bar, under stair pantry and opened up walls to the three surrounding rooms to make this kitchen the true center of the house. The owners entertain a bunch and have events where people are inside and outside on their amazing property. They wanted to have flow to/from their side yard which features a fireplace, play areas, cabana bath, etc...

To make this small kitchen work-flow really work and to add storage. The original kitchen had the refrigerator sticking out into the kitchen passage area. We installed a built-in Sub-Zero model that only projected to counter depth, and to install a custom wood panel on it matching the cabinetry. This made the refrigerator look like the cabinets and reduced its visual presence. We also moved the range to the center of the side wall space which provided 4 feet of prep area on either side of the range. The soffits were removed from overhead and the cabinets were brought to the ceiling around the kitchen perimeter to gain more storage space.
