Carrothers and Associates transformed the exterior design of our home from a tired, outdated look to a modern west coast style. The same was done with the interior. We are utterly thrilled with our "new" home. David Carrothers and his staff were on-site on numerous occasions to work with the contractor to make sure that the results matched their vision. We would not hesitate in recommending this firm. They are specialists in residential and have a great deal of experience in both new homes and renovations.

David and has his team captured all of our needs in the drawings he provided us with. The house is stunning we are very pleased with there work and would highly recommend there company to do your work you will not be disappointed he is very creative.

The project was for a one story addition to our house of approximately 150 sq metres + a large deck. Carrothers and Associates advised us on layout, provided drawings so we could set out a budget for prospective contractors and our bank; applied for variances from the city and went to the hearing on our behalf; and provided detailed architectural drawings for the winning contractor. All aspects of the project went off without a hitch. The vision and planning was excellent.

We hired Carrothers and Associates to design our rear addition for our forever house. Dave was great to work with and was there every step of the way including design, variance meetings, permits and of course the millions of questions! I hired David to design a modern home unique to the area and to fit our needs. David went above and beyond and came up with a concept which was amazing. David is a leader when it comes to modern architecture and I will be using him for future projects.

My husband and I hired David to help us design a renovation to a 90 year old home that included a main floor bedroom, master bath room, a new eat in kitchen, and doubled the square footage of the house. He was patient with us as we explored our vision, and returned on several occasions to provide us with excellent suggestions. He listened carefully, was respectful in suggestion options, and was great to work with. Although we did not use the plans he provided, they were a significant feature on display when we sold the house. The new owners were so impressed by his work, that they engaged him to design a wonderful addition to the house!

Our home was initially designed with several interesting features such as a two way indoor/outdoor fireplace, large covered porches on the front and back, 2 sets of double doors out to the back and a large round window to define the front of the house. From there, we provided our input which was responded to to make the design even better. Fantastic use of space. Carrothers and Associates were available to answer our questions throughout and took the time to come on site to ensure all was done to plan and to resolve concerns to put our minds at ease.

I always say Houzz.com designed my house. The truth is David Carrothers and Associates did the actual design to our utmost satisfaction. David was attentive to our needs and led us through the process of our remodel in a highly professional manner. He gave us very clear plans that guided us through our associations with our contractor, millwork contractor and all the other trades that are a part of a home build. David, extremely capably, took ideas that I showed him on Houzz.com and expertly incorporated them into our final design and we couldn't be more delighted! We also had to apply for a variance for our project and David was there, with me at City Hall to guide me through the application. Having a good house designer at the start is the key to a successful renovation or home build; we were more than satisfied.

David and his team did a whole home design for us and filed for all our permits with the city of Burlington. They were on time, professional and very good at taking what we said we wanted and turning it into a great floor plan. They were patient with us and a pleasure to work with. Would high recommend.

David gave us the best modern home design ever. He was amazing to work with. He stayed on schedule . Was very flexible when we requested tweaks and changes. He knew exactly what we were looking for and he delivered it. When we started the project we were just concerned about the inside - we left one wall standing . By the end of the project the outside of our house has an amazing WOW factor. Our house won award of distinction in Ontario for 2014.
