Aaron worked as a sub contractor on our beach house in Morro Bay. Not only is he friendly and pleasant to work with, but he does beautiful wood and tile work. He installed all the tile in three bathrooms, our kitchen backsplash and fireplace surround. They are flawless. He also helped build the tongue and groove ceiling and the matching wood boxes for our skylights. We have been thoroughly impressed with his skill and attention to detail.

Aaron is that rare type of craftsman where technique, attention to detail and aesthetics are evident in every inch of his work. This young man has the skill and workmanship that one would expect from an old master. He can take the most dire situation and bring to life a new space that is inviting, functional and beautiful beyond expectation. Originally we had Aaron update our sad little kitchen, but early in the process we were so impressed with his skill, work ethic and especially his artistry, we immediately decided to remodel the entire house. He took our plain vanilla, dated ranch-style house and transformed it into a gorgeous, timeless home. All along the way he creatively solved challenging structural and design issues to make each space flow and work for our family and lifestyle. Even though the entire project took over a year, we were rarely inconvenienced by the construction. Aaron worked methodically and kept us constantly appraised of the timeline of projects and worked through obstacles with incredible speed and ease. The thing we most appreciate about Aaron his unwillingness to settle for "good enough". This is the fourth house we've owned and fourth remodel effort, and Aaron is clearly in that 1% of builders who genuinely take pride in their craft. He is meticulous, thorough and completes every aspect of every project with focused attention and quality. I'm pretty sure he treats each project as if it were he were working on his own home. While Aaron is excellent craftsman, he and his wife are extremely talented designers and make a perfect team. Aaron and Hilary worked together on many aspects of our remodel to bring our ideas and direction to fruition. They are both on top of all the newest materials, designs and if you can't find what you're looking for, Aaron and Hilary can make it. For example, Aaron built a beautiful bathroom vanity with a concrete counter top and Hilary employed several processes to achieve the colors for the look we wanted. She was also instrumental in finding the fixtures, accessories and lighting to complete the look. Since then, we've had Aaron back to remodel our front porch. Once he again, he took a basic, plain-jane element and transformed it into something that elevated the whole house. The porch remodel was relatively understated, but the impact was immense. We've had numerous comments from neighbors about how much better the porch looks. He is the expert everyone is looking for!

Bergantz Construction is our go-to for major and minor revisions to our 1940's San Luis Obispo home. Aaron is reliable, conscientious, and easy to work with on a daily basis. My husband and I appreciated his easy going nature as well as his constant professionalism. We wanted to incorporate an updated aesthetic to our home while still retaining its original character. Aaron gave us insight and ideas that fit in perfectly with our budget and our design and artistic taste. Anyone who has completed a home remodel knows how stressful the entire process can be. Aaron showed up smiling every day and due to his patience and calm demeanor made the experience so much less painful! :) We are absolutely thrilled with our end product and without hesitation would recommend his quality services to others.

We hired Aaron to build a new gate for our backyard living area. We asked him for: (1) something along a craftsman style which would look more like a door than a gate; (2) solid wood which would withstand the elements; and (3) a window at the bottom so our dogs could check out the neighborhood. He crafted the gate out of mahogany and added a beautiful finish. He helped us find high a quality handle/lock so it would look more like a door than a gate. Aaron did an absolutely outstanding job. He even added detail above the gate. Everything about the gate is perfect! One of the problems with our old gate was that every time it rained the gate would swell shut. We had a freak storm several days ago which dumped more than an inch of rain and the new gate opened just fine - no swelling! You can see in the pictures one of our dogs enjoying her view out her new window. In addition to the gate, we also had him install a new wood front door and wood windowsills throughout the house. He did an excellent job with those projects too. Aaron always showed up when he said he would and when he couldn't make it, he let us know. The work was done mostly according to schedule. There were a couple of delays due to a shipping error and problem with the front door itself, neither of which were due to anything on Aaron's part. He always left the work area neat and clean. His work isn't the cheapest, but he's a perfectionist which we were more than willing to pay for. We had previously hired Aaron to install small redwood decks at my mother-in-law's condo. His work at her house was also excellent. We went through a major home remodel about 9 years ago, and although we were mostly happy with our contractor and his work, we wished we could have worked with Aaron on that project. Hopefully, we can hire him to help us with our garage remodel next year!

Aaron helped us turn a dark, outdated and dangerous bathroom into a bright, inviting and happy space. The old tiles were glassy and slippery where I fell twice. The contractor did several different jobs for us. He replaced our dual glazed windows and put new trim around all of them, painted the outside of the house, replaced all the interior doors and frames and added new hardware. He just finished putting in new concrete in the backyard and a beautiful new composite deck with lighting. He works very hard, has a good attitude, does excellent work, and has good ideas to help with planning what the job will end up looking like. I would recommend him for any job. He is quite versatile and has knowledge about different materials such as tile, concrete, wood, etc.
