After interviewing a number of contractors to build our modern desert house, we selected Tyler/Apollo Builders for his can-do attitude on our energy-efficient, high-performance project. The valley’s contractors (at the time) were skeptical and inexperienced with the type of construction and materials our project required. Not only did the project introduce non-traditional materials for residential construction, our project was also a major renovation of an existing structure using the exterior block walls, an infrastructure overhaul, and major site work. From the outset, Tyler worked closely with our engineer & design team to educate himself on the material specs and constructions methods. Once construction began, he and his subcontractors were attentive to making sure the house was built to perform as designed. Regular communications kept the project strictly within budget while monitoring schedule. And, when issues arose, Tyler practiced transparency and perseverance when working with the team to identify potential solutions. It’s been one year, and our house has the aesthetic appeal we sought while performing brilliantly. The house is water efficient; it uses 1/3 the electricity (no gas) of a comparable sized house; the indoor air quality is top-notch. For a contractor who had never built a high-performance, passive house, Tyler excelled. We recommend him for his integrity and capacity for tackling the unknown.

We recently used Apollo Builders, LLC to remodel our kitchen and wet bar. The kitchen project involved removal of an old custom built stucco range hood and replacement with a custom built brass hood, removal and replacement of kitchen backsplash and removal and replacement of a kitchen chandelier. The wet bar was remodeled and a new quartzite top was added. Throughout the project, we worked closely with Tyler Kerstner, owner of Apollo Builders, who, from start to finish, supervised the remodel and always kept us updated and informed as the work progressed. Tyler was always attentive to our needs, always available for questions and guided us, with his expertise, in making design and material choices along the way. His subcontractors demonstrated professionalism and high quality with detailed attention to cleanliness and containment of dust and dirt. We are extremely happy with our new kitchen and wet bar, and, without reservation, would highly recommend Apollo Builders to anyone starting a home remodel project.

Purchased a Scottsdale house that needed significant updating. We used Apollo to remodel 2 1/2 bathrooms, install wooden floors, remodel the fireplace, full interior painting, and other upgrades. Tyler was excellent throughout the process: design, helping us make material choices, spotting (and solving) issues as they arose, dealing with mid-construction changes we requested, and finishing on time, as promised. Has stayed involved in the inevitable punch-list process, to make sure we are completely satisfied. Always reachable, always reasonable. Excellent workmanship for a fair price. We couldn't have been happier with our experience.

Tyler is highly recommend. His team did an amazing job transforming two bedroom rooms into a second master bedroom. In addition transforming a 20 year old condo bathroom into an amazing shower. Dear Tyler, This letter of recommendation/review dated January 30, 2023 (hereinafter the "Letter of Recommendation") is submitted without reservation. We are the homeowners that retained Apollo Builders to remediate major damage done to (i) the two-car garage; and (ii) the laundry room. The damage was extensive and required, among other things, reconstruction of the load-bearing walls supporting the garage and the laundry room (hereinafter, the Damaged Areas). My wife and I are both seniors; unfortunately, my wife suffers from difficult health-related issues that require the intervention of various specialties found at the Mayo Clinic. I stress this point because Tyler Kestner was highly sensitive to these health issues when planning the remediation of our home. The reconstruction of the Damaged Areas commenced on January 24, 2023, and concluded on January 30, 2023. The Apollo staff were impeccable in the performance of their job, including: (i) on-time arrivals; (ii) assemblage of the materials necessary to complete the remediation without delay or aggravation; and (iii) assuring that each of the subcontractor groups likewise followed the very high work ethic displayed by the Apollo staff. The restoration of the Damaged Areas is now complete; the work was expertly done in accordance with applicable professional standards. For example, during the work period, Tyler examined continuously the work done by his staff and his long-term retained sub-contractors. (These tradesmen have enjoyed many years’ relationship with Tyler; they also perform their work consistent with the Apollo high work ethic.) The Apollo team built a beautiful enclosed bar in our game room. This project required demo of an existing smaller bar wall and a large closet to create the new space. From the beginning of the project to the end, Tyler and his team took great care to keep the project area clean and contained. The subcontractors used were professional and of the highest quality. The supervisor of this project communicated with us proactively and also responded to any questions we had along the way in a very timely manner. Most importantly, the end product is beautiful and we are very happy with our new bar.

Home remodeling in these days of supply and subcontractor shortages is challenging. To add another challenge, my US home remodel project began while I was out of the country. During weekly online meetings with Tyler Kestner, owner of Apollo Builders, I was very comfortable with his detailed progress reports and updates on my project, as well as the security provided for the site. During this time, most of the demo work was completed on the kitchen, three bathrooms, and other structural work including a new front door system and a new entry to the back patio which enabled easier access and a more open view to the backyard. When I was able to return to the United States and monitor the progress for myself, I was pleased with the progress as promised by Tyler. There were some hiccups along the way, as can be expected in a large project but Tyler and his site manager were quick to ameliorate and fix any problems. I created a “punch list” for his team and sub-contractors and the items were all dealt with to my satisfaction. Tyler also provided good advice on certain areas of the remodel and I agreed with his style suggestions. Mostly, any problems were due to the supply chain disruption. In addition, the sub-contractors were “good people” and I appreciated their contributions to the final result. The tile sub-contractors were given some tricky tiles to install and did a great job. I used my own painter that I had known for many years and Tyler had no problem with his participation. And now, while sitting in my beautiful new kitchen, I can say that I can recommend Tyler and Apollo builders. While the original timeline was changed due to unavoidable supply delays, I was kept abreast of when the new deliveries would arrive, which I much appreciated. I am very pleased with the results.

Tyler, Apollo Builders and his crew came to our rescue! Apollo Builders was professional and caring during our remodel experience. We had contracted with another company who left us high and dry. Took all our money, never completed the job, and the portion that was completed was substandard. We had about 10 builders come through our half completed project to give us a bid on redoing and completing our project. Half were not interested because they were not confident enough to take on the challenge. Tyler was! His evaluation of our project was the same but he took the time to find out what exactly our expectations and desires were. It was a long process in getting to the final end but Tyler was so ever patient. He knew we were gun shy and had a lot of doubts and fears. He was reassuring and clam. We used Apollo Builders for a major remodeling that involved removing and adding walls, adding 25' floor-to-ceiling exterior sliding glass panels, adding a bathroom, new tile in entire house, a new fireplace, and kitchen and family room updating. Apollo Builders and their design team did a fabulous job of remodeling our home. Their pricing was very competitive and they paid close attention to all details. I had Apollo, build a significant overhang for my house. It was very architectural in nature as I have a mid-century modern home. He completed the work on budget and on deadline. It is the focus of my house now. His professionalism from start to finish was refreshing, especially in an industry saturated by less-than-honest contractors.

Tyler was very professional and exceeded our expectations, listened to our needs and concerns along with offering suggestions. Accompanied us to retail stores for selection of materials and quality products throughout the project. Did not cut no corners or attempt to compromise on any part of project or deviate from plans unless we wanted changes during process. Very articulate, detailed and focused. Added upgrades and did exceed my budget, but by my choices and selection of appliances. His work crew, plumbing, electrical and all others were equally efficient and professional and cosmetically detailed. The last important thing was scheduled time frame to complete the kitchen which was met. I would and will use Tyler and Apollo builders in the future. Keep in mind, his estimates were neither low end or high priced, middle of the road average. But you will get the best workmanship and satisfaction.

I hired Apollo for a fairly large scale home remodel, which included adding a retractable glass wall from my living room to my covered patio, a complete kitchen remodel, and a master bath remodel which included changing the entire footprint of the bathroom. Tyler and his team were outstanding on every dimension. I've remodeled a few different homes with different contractors over the years and never had an experience as great as with Tyler. Any time you do something this large, things are going to go wrong--but with Apollo, they took care of everything. The work was immaculate and, most important, I never had to worry. They never cut corners. They were upfront with the costs. And they completed the work on time. I couldn't have asked for more and I'd hire them again in a heartbeat!

Tyler and his Apollo team has remodeled much of our home including, 3 bathrooms, an office, large fire place and two living areas. My wife and I have enjoyed working with Apollo. They have helped us with our designs, colors, choosing tile etc. If something didn't turn out right, Dwane (the supervisor), was there to make sure it was fixed.
