Chris Black's team of Jennifer & Zak were great to work with from start to finish! They listened to what we wanted, made necessary changes to accommodate our requests, and added their own great ideas to the project. Though it took longer than we had anticipated, we never felt stressed about the project not being finished earlier. All of Chris' team is easy to work with, honest, professional, knowledgeable, likeable people.

Blackline was great to work with on my house due to their extensive past work on older homes in my neighborhood which always come with surprises. We did have a few but they were excellent about giving options about how to handle along the way. Really professional team, would work with them again

We hired Blackline for an extensive remodel on our home, including conversion of existing garage to laundry room and bedroom and the construction of a new garage. We could not be more pleased with the outcome. The price and schedule were confirmed prior to commencement of the project. There were no surprises. The construction remained on schedule and the price was consistent with the estimate. The quality of the work from the sub-contractors was excellent. There were very few issues with the process of our remodel.

Engaged Blackline for the construction of a new garage and redo on the from facade. We are approximately one-third complete with the project. Been pleased with their professionalism and the quality of work.

I used Blackline Renovations for a long overdue remodel of my kitchen, laundry, and living room areas. I had talked to a few companies over the years prior to meeting with Blackline. Having had a bad experience 3 years before, I was reluctant to start the process again. Chris and his team seemed different. They were knowledgeable, organized, and seemed excited about the prospects of turning my 1961 kitchen into something I could enjoy and be proud of. This would turn out to be a down to the studs renovation for approx. 50% of my house. Projects of this scope and duration are never without inconvenience, but it went smoother than anticipated. From design (I only had a general idea of what I wanted; few details), to project management, to execution, I can’t think of anything I would change. The end result is beautiful. The people were great to work with, and the results exceeded my expectations. Chris, Taff, and Jennifer listen and clearly care about the work they do.

I am an architectural free-lance photographer. I see homes and commercial buildings all the time. Photographing the renovations for Blackline is easy and thrilling! His work is detailed and clean! It's always a pleasure to see what he and his team can do with a space!

Although I was not the primary contact for this job, the interactions I DID have were of the highest quality. Every single person on the renovation team was professional, courteous, and efficient. We are so happy with the end results! In addition, after move-in, anything that comes up as a "punch-list" item is done in a timely manner.

Chris and his team were great to work with. Our first time doing a project like this and they were really helpful with decision making . We made a few changes along the way and they were very accommodating in implementing.

Chris Black and his team took it down to the studs to renovate the kitchen, master closet and new laundry. We also enclosed a porch, refinished the floors throughout, added attic insulation and poured a new driveway for our 1929 cottage. He was great to work with and had excellent weekly communication. We appreciated that he was very well organized and stayed on budget. I highly recommend him and I will use his company again.

Blackline Renovations renovated a guest bathroom for our home two years ago. We were and have been very satisfied with their work. Chris Black was professional every step of the way. We were satisfied with keeping to the timeline and budget. I was especially impressed with Blackline's subcontractors. Everyone did a great job. We would definitely use Chris for future projects and have recommended him to many in our neighborhood.

We worked with Blackline Renovations on 2 projects for our house in 2014-2015. We were very happy with the work. Chris Black always made himself available for questions we had and was able to handle all aspects of updating our house as we wanted both inside and out.

I contacted CB Construction to design and build 3 porches to my house. My budget was $35-40K and CB charged a $2000 design phase which was to contribute to the final build cost. When I decided to not move forward with the project, CB Construction worked with me to make sure I was happy with the value I got out of the design phase of the project.

Chris Black and his team were amazing to work with! They are highly organized and professional, and the project ran more smoothly than any I've seen in my design career. I've worked with numerous contractors, and none have ever been this organized. I was extremely impressed with Chris's processes and his crews. My wife and I hired Chris Black with CB Construction to do an extensive remodel/refurbishment on a 1970's vintage designer townhome. We had a great experience from start to finish. Chris has set up an excellent system for the owners to specify materials, communications were always clear. We felt completely informed on all progress during each stage of the project and were given full descriptions of any problems encountered. The project included: 1. Complete renovation of the Master bathroom (including installation of a steam shower) 2. Renovation and expansion of the Guest bathroom including a new shower 3. Adding a master closet 4. Replacing the air conditioning unit 5. Updating the duct work to include zoned thermostat controls 6. Taking a portion of the garage in to build a laundry room that revealed the need to replace the back wall of the garage. 7. Bringing the electrical system up to current code. 8. Rebuilding the stairway to code. 9. Replacing all upstairs flooring and tile work. 10. Repair and replacement of exterior siding in the courtyard with removal of a rocked in gas grill. 11. Repair of the upstairs deck. 12. Roof repair 13. Painting throughout 14. The worksite was kept clean throughout the project and final clean up was excellent. All of the contractors brought by Chris were responsible professionals and were responsive to changes made during the project. All of the workers were considerate of our neighbors. I would highly recommend Chris Black and CB Construction for any project. We are very happy home owners.

CB Construction provided me design & remodel services for my primary home; we fully remodeled our kitchen & converted a room into a master bedroom with en suite full bath. Since my wife was pregnant, we wanted these improvements completed before our child arrived, & we were set on quality work completed on or before their design completion date. The CB Construction team not only designed fully what was to be done, they also updated us weekly as to status. Because of the weekly updates, we were able to plan well around activities such as demo & painting to avoid any unnecessary risks to my pregnant wife & baby. The team finished ahead of schedule even though we added some design changes mid-remodel. We are / have been delighted with the quality work, & we had 5 weeks to spare before our son arrived. We highly recommend CB Construction for one-stop shopping for your design / remodel requirements.

Project: striclty budgeted house addition with garage in Dallas, TX\ Timeframe: February through April 2014 The budget was tight and CB worked hard to stay within the set financial limits. Their bid was at least 20% lower then the closest other bid and half of the highest bid. The addition exceeded my expectations, the garage is bigger than I thought it would be, demolition of existing massive concrete structure went smooth. CB team was available at all times, all deadlines were met or exceeded, the project was finished about 2 weeks ahead of schedule. This was a difficult project due to city codes, all problems were handled by CB contruction and the project altered as required.

Chris did an excellent job with the design and remodel of our kitchen and living area. I cannot say enough about how much we appreciated his honesty, integrity and creativity through the process. We were moving a lot of walls and shifting floor plan in a 1940's house, so there were unexpected obstacles along the way, but Chris was creative and budget-conscious in every decision he made with us. The project finished on time, within budget and was everything we envisioned and more. We now live full-time in our kitchen/great room. We really don't spend time anywhere else. Chris communicates better than anyone I've ever worked with. You may find cheaper bids, but you will not find a more honest and talented builder than Chris Black.
