Liza Guest is by far the best decorator we have ever worked with! My husband and I wanted to refresh our family room and adjoining kitchen eating area. Even though it was our first time working with Liza, she had a real sense for what we wanted. She came to us with very creative ideas, and we loved all of her initial suggestions. What was great was that she was able to work with our already existing items. As a result, the rooms are even nicer than we anticipated, relaxing yet luxurious, just beautiful. I met Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ at the "Mansion In May" in 2017. She had designed a lovely, cozy space on the second floor. The room was charming and that is where I saw my cocktail table. It was the table of my dreams. It was love at first sight but it had been spoken for. I took Elizabeth's card contacted her several weeks later. The table had to be ordered from the U.K.and she did that for me. In all the months waiting for my table to arrive she was in frequent contact with me.Neither of us gave up. Elizabeth has an excellent eye for every space she sees--it's not "one size fits all"! Her range of knowledge and design sense is what sets her apart. Her attention to detail is what has impressed me the most. She researches everything and communicates well. She's not happy--until you are happy. The kind of design professional that makes the experience memorable.

I moved into a home that is quite interesting and definitely not a cookie-cutter property. It has great 'bones' and even though nothing of consequence had to be done to make it a lovely home, I decided to get an interior designer to make 3 rooms(LR,DR,FR) better than what they would become if left to my own decisions. Fortunately for me, Elizabeth happened to be nearby and after viewing samples of her work from her website and comparing that to a number of other designers, near and far, she was my choice. Her on-line examples were beautiful and tasteful and all unique, one from the other. This has turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. At the first meeting, it was clear that her mind was engaged on the project and just brimming with ideas. Now, my situation, had a couple of advantages: A. we could start as a blank slate for those rooms, and B. I did not require a tight deadline. Even if this had not been the case, Elizabeth would have developed a great plan to complete those rooms. So, what does she bring to a project? Many excellent things. Firstly, a wonderful personality that is always cooperative and never demanding that things be done only one way. This means that she generally provides multiple options, whether for specific pieces or colors or fabric or any particular choice. This includes cost options. Elizabeth aims to please and tailor things to the homeowner's taste and lifestyle, but at the same time never allowing you to make a foolish choice. This goes to another and critical characteristic: she has impeccable taste. Whenever, I had an idea that maybe was not the best, she would ever-so-gently, persuade or explain why a better choice could be made. At those times and now that I look back, she was invariably right. Another great advantage, is that she has contacts with all sorts of tradesmen/contractors if any are required. These, I have found to be all top-quality people with high standards of workmanship. And the arrangements are made by her, a big time-saver. Even more importantly, she has seemingly endless experience in getting great furniture. We got some unique pieces. If you think it, she can probably get it. And if you don't think it, she will offer it as a suggestion. A specific talent is Elizabeth's experience and knowledge in the world of art. We acquired a lot of pieces, some that I wanted and others that she sought out and I agreed to. Throughout all of this she saved me a lot of money. Many of these things would have never come across my radar. Elizabeth is a superb shopper, she is familiar with so many shops, manufacturers, custom-makers, craftsman, exhibitions, shows, etc. She remembers details, is ever-so-careful about measuring things and especially the best arrangement of furniture. Most of all she looks at the total picture. No detail is too small. She brought to my attention many things that I never knew about. Elizabeth ponders specific requests for items that may be out of the ordinary, as a challenge and she finds them. Amazing! As time went on, I expanded my wish-list for ala carte items outside the original 3 rooms. Those she found, also. I cannot imagine anyone else completing what was done for me in a better way. Elizabeth Guest is a thorough professional and very creative person who knows how to bring beauty to an interior design. There were so many wonderful surprises along the way and my project was a total pleasure from beginning to end.

Elizabeth is a talented and thoughtful designer. Her projects are uniquely based on her perception of the client's needs and style. It's always fascinating to see the elements that she brings in from other parts of the world. She not only creates beautiful spaces to live in, she also makes the whole process fun.

I had the pleasure to work with Liza on a project I designed in Lake George. She was the designer and I was the architect. She had an excellent grasp of the rustic environment for the home. She knew exactly what she wanted and how to make it happen. I especially liked her creativeness including designing a room using themes from the far east. The room fit so well in the final design of the home. Her use of colors is exceptional. She is not afraid to add splashes of color to liven up a space. Her attention to detail was excellent throughout the project providing a keen eye and understanding of the ultimate goal desired by the client. Her use of fabric and texture helped continue the rustic theme of the house from the outside and bringing it indoors. I would recommend her to any of my clients in the future. She was a joy to work with.

When I contacted Elizabeth Guest to help me decorate my house and make it a home the house was a blank shell. Builders grade paint, no window treatments, no personality at all. I also had small children with little time to decorate. Liza came to my home and listened to my wants and needs then went to her suppliers and brought me an array of beautiful high quality fabrics, wallcoverings and furnishings to choose from. She spent time narrowing down selections with me in my home at times that were convenient to me. Everything she brought was exactly what I wanted. I never had to leave my house and she stayed within my budget. The combination of her ability to incorporate my vision with her exquisite taste resulted in her giving me the home I dreamed of. Liza exceeded my expectations and I have a beautiful home that was achieved with minimal effort on my part. It was FUN!!

The interior design of my New Jersey home was completed by Elizabeth, and she brought beautiful wall coverings and high quality fabrics and furniture to make it warm and inviting despite its high ceilings and open space. Elizabeth is currently finishing up a total interior redesign of my 1930s-era home in Bethlehem, PA, which started in 2013 and continues in 2014. She advised us to install wainscoting in the living room and to reface its fireplace to a lighter marble, and layered bamboo blinds under elegant floral curtains (her design). She found wonderful antique chairs and a game table, and created ottomans and added pillows to a sleek couch and chaises. For the dining room, we accompanied her into NYC and selected an Italian dining table and chairs, which sit amid red walls, a gold ceiling and striped silk curtains. She is now working on a stone sunroom off our living room, and chairs have arrived as we await the window treatments, rug and other furniture in what is becoming a beautifully casual space. Elizabeth was involved in the positioning of the heating/cooling system, switch plates and outlets in every room. Each time we meet, she brings several wonderful fabrics or chair styles or table designs or accessory ideas, and my husband and I sift through those to find what makes us happiest. We also drive into the city to actually sit in any chairs before purchasing them (which she advises us to do!). Although these rooms are all beautifully appointed, they are still quite cozy and warm, and I find myself carrying my morning coffee into a different room each day just to sit and admire and enjoy what she has helped us to create. And apart from her fabulous knowledge of art and design, Elizabeth herself is beautiful, sensible and kind, sensitive to budgets and personal tastes and time constraints. We are proud to know her and to call her our friend.

Working with Liza was wonderful! She redecorated our living room and was able to create an entirely new, fresh look with many of our existing pieces. Along with a couple of newly upholstered chairs, Liza's guidance on new paint, rugs and a more open layout, turned a stuffy, unused room into a warm, inviting space. Because Liza was able to work with so many of our original pieces, we were able to splurge on some really fabulous fabrics and still stay well within budget. Liza coordinated all of the details, down to arranging the art on the walls. In fact, I think her eye for art may be her greatest strength and our collection now looks both more cohesive and more interesting. A true pleasure!
