Painted Interiors

I have worked with Ward on several projects, and he has always gone above and beyond my expectations. He is a true artist in his technique and his understanding of the subtleties required. His work is what adds that special element to create memorable interiors. His skill, reliability, and work ethic are what I rely on to add the ultimate touch to my design projects.

Our local church decided to restore the wood finish to the chancel arch that had been painted over in the 1950's. The original finish was discovered to be a vintage faux bois finish done in 1883. Stripping the paint turned out not to be an option, and so a faux wood grain finish was planned. Ward visited the site to learn our needs and show examples of similar work, and determine what design would complement the other interior woodwork.. His estimate was reasonable and we scheduled the work. He started and finished the work exactly according to schedule, and even provided some extra work. We had an option in the contract to remove some panels in the upper corners to hopefully reveal the original lattice motif woodwork. We discovered it had been removed in the 1950's. I quickly fabricated new pieces and Ward installed them, without missing a beat on the schedule. The workmanship is high quality, and the restoration was finished in a professional manner. The results are outstanding and much appreciated by the members of the church.

Ward* has done numerous installations for us through the years. An exterior faux stone driveway was done at a previous residence. And finishes such as a venetian plaster accent wall, a faux brick wall and a free floating accent wall (pictured in his online portfolio) are at our present home. He has a wonderful sense of design and color, as well as an impeccable attention to detail. His finished work is just beautiful. * note: full disclosure, I am a relative, however have paid full price for all installations

Ward created a pearlescent plaster finish for the wall in my master bath. Beautiful! No longer just a bath but now a spa I look forward to each day. He also turned a plain pine desk into mahogany showpiece with the burls in lovely detail. Being so pleased with Ward's work I had him back to paint and glaze my kitchen cabinets. Again, beautiful. The 'cherry' on top was his idea to color the glass transome above the sink, brilliant!

Edward Malnak and I have worked a few large projects together including a space in the 2014 Mansion in May at Blairsden (featured in DesignNJ Oct/Nov 2014).I found his work to be of the highest quality and that he had a good sense of design. I am always happy to work a project with him and would highly recommend Painted Interiors.
