In October 2020, we renovated our house in Montauk. As part of the renovation, we were looking for a stainless cable system for our outdoor decks. Our contractor made it very clear that we were across the street from the ocean, and that we should consider ordering the Feeney system because even though it’s the most expensive, their hardware is superior and used on marine vessels. The cost was over double the price of the competition, but our contractor was told by the Feeney representative that their product was the Rolls Royce of wire cable systems. We were willing to pay for top quality, rather than have any issues. And we assumed a company with such an expensive product would stand behind it. We finished the project in April 2021, and by October we started seeing light rust stains on various pieces, not all. Over the winter the rust got even worse, as these attached photos show, but they company said they couldn’t address the issue until the spring, when temperatures were over 50 degrees. In March 2022, Feeney sent someone to clean and seal the wire system. They also sent us a copy of the warranty, which stated the wire system would need to be cleaned and maintained periodically, which was never brought up when purchased. The whole purpose was to get stainless steel system that wouldn’t need maintenance that frequently. Our contractor was not told about the high maintenance factor from the Feeny rep, and he was embarrassed that he recommended them, as you can imagine. Every page of their brochure says LOW MAINTENANCE. By summer, we started noticing stains coming back again. Being in the metal business, I can see that the rust between the parts in the system can’t really be cleaned without being taken apart. They offered a surface cleaning, but the problem is unfortunately the overall quality of the parts. At this time, Feeney has not offered a remedy for this situation, and is blaming the contractor (of course) and not accepting any accountability for their substandard parts. They aren’t all discolored and rusting, only certain parts in the system. This shows that the quality of their stainless steel varies from part to part. I am writing this so homeowners and contractors avoid using Feeney in their projects, thus avoiding lawsuits and unhappy customers.

We've used Feeney CableRail stainless steel wire systems and DesignRail aluminum railing systems on our custom residential projects since 2003. Each project we do is unique and even-though the stainless wire tends to have a contemporary feel it can me combined with many different railing materials to fit each homes style. We love it and will continue to use it because it looks amazing and performs just as well in our ever changing Northern Michigan seasons.

Time will tell how good the Product is but their customer service is a joke. Tried to return off the shelf components (not the rail that was custom made) and was told I could not return because it had now been too long .....although they had told me 51 days ago they could and I had been waiting for a return authorization.

I love this product. Feeney makes by far and away the best cable rail products we've used. On this house we used a competitor's product that was in stock at our local building supply for the rails with wood posts but it wouldn't work well for this rail with steel posts so we had our salesman order the Fenney. We'll never go back to the other brand. The Feeney was faster, simpler to install, and provided a much cleaner appearance.

Feeney IS the best source for cable rails. We've been using these for years and appreciate when it is done right! You can't go wrong with this company.

I am an Architect and I worked with Feeney on my 2016 Sunset Idea house project--. The house has huge views of San Francisco Bay and Downtown Oakland. I selected the Glass guard rail system to minimize any blockage of these views. I also used the same glass guard rail system on the interior for a complete look. The installation came out terrific and can be seen in my Houzz portfolio. The Feeney project manager was great to work with and provided suggestions on how to accomplish my vision. I would recommend their system to anyone.

I am a contractor in Corvallis, OR and recently finished a remodel of my own home. I used Feeney's DesignRail for my staircase and their CableRail for a custom support application for open Bamboo shelving. The process of ordering DesignRail was seamless and the product arrived within a few weeks by freight. When I started the installation, I had a couple of questions about fasteners and cable tensioning and called the Feeney support staff. They were very professional and eager to help. Feeney's products are top notch and I love their open, contemporary look. I will use them in the future for all of my cable and railing needs.

today was possibly the worst customer experience ever in dealing with a company whose claim of a "lifetime warranty" on it cable rail product is bogus at best. we used well over ten thousand dollars of their product on a new deck, and now one year later two fittings went bad. today we attempted to have them returned to the company for replacement...maybe a value of $75 total. after nearly an hour of phone calls to sales reps and the corporate office, they CANNOT accept the broken fittings unless we, the end customer, track down our contractor and the contractor's supplier...just so, as they claim, they can get their "paperwork" straight. we are dumbfounded. we offered to return the two broken fittings to them at our own expense, and that was rejected. they told us "they don't work that way." instead, they want us to track down our contractor from last year, have him contact his supplier to get the order number, just so they could track the delivery of that order number to their system, before they will make good on a defective product. that is their concept of a lifetime warranty. needless to say, we will never recommend this product to anyone.

We have used Feeney's cable rail products multiple times including their post system, as well as cables on custom fabricated post projects. We've never had any problems with the product and have always received impeccable service. We look forward to submitting more photos of completed projects for the photo contest!

When we are lucky enough to work with a client who wants a contemporary design with clean lines, the only cable railing system we specify is Cable Rail by Feeney. Everything about their railing system is top-notch including their sales and support team. We highly recommend them. Feeney Cable rail assemblies are the only ones we use. We have been using them for approx. 8 years now. We find they are the easiest to work with and the best performing. Feeney makes some of the most elegant and forward thinking cable railing components available. we have spec'd both their standard 1/8" system (which has proved to be wildly more cost effective than fabricating locally) and also their custom parts realize our stair designs. They offer a great product in cable rail. As an architect I've used it on numerous projects where I want to maximize views or simplify wood framing. I've even used it as a shower rod.
