Horrigan O'Malley Architects began in 2001 and offers full services for our clients from pre-design through the completion of construction. I specialize in townhouse renovations, additions as well as co-op and condo renovations. I have extensive experience in New York City Landmark and NYC Department of Buildings approvals. Relationships with experienced engineers, expediters, material suppliers and other industry specialists create a collaborative and productive design environment. Home and Apartment Renovations from $100,000 to 5 Million. New Homes from 1 Million to 3 Million. Kitchens from $75,000 to $200,000. Room additions from $200,000 . I love to travel the world and enjoy incorporating ideas from my expeditions. Whether it be the tile from a wonderful bathroom in Rome to the way space is used efficiently in a safari tent in Kenya. Horrigan O’Malley was recommended to us by someone else in our building who had used them. We are so glad we took the advice as Christa was a much needed organizer, advocate and voice of sanity as we combined apartments in our renovation. She not only provided the standard architect plans etc but was also willing to answer artistic design questions and allay our fears during the seven month process. She recommended a good contractor and was usually quick to respond to our various issues. We definitely recommend!

Sarah Gerstenzang

Christa helped us with the renovation of a one bedroom apartment for my mother. She also was the architect for our own apartment which involved the gut renovation of a dilapidated building and the carving out of five new apartments. Christa has an incredible sense of space and proportion as well as an ability to balance the old and new. She is also very practical, professional and responsive. Unlike some architects she really listens to what you want and need but also pushes back firmly if you head down a mistaken path with an idea. I wish I had another project so I could work with her again!

I interviewed a total of 3 architects for a two story home addition. Christa was the only architect that listened and executed a drawing of my vision. She helped me realize my dream home with the most efficient use of space and modern conveniences. She provided me with detailed descriptions and drawings for my contractors and subcontractors. There was not one detail that wasn't addressed and the project completed beautifully and timely. Communication is so important and I always felt we were on the same page.
