We recently completed our first major design project using Kat Nelson Designs and we are extremely happy with the results! It was our first time working with an interior designer and Kat expertly walked us through this process. Our project initially involved designing our family great room including breakfast area and kitchen. We were so happy with results that we decided to design our formal dining room and powder room as well. Kat also helped us with a bathroom update. Her ability to source unique furniture, lighting fixtures, rugs and accessories is remarkable. She brought in great texture with custom drapes and pillows. Kat was even able to connect us with a local artist to commission original artwork that would fit our space. Being new to the design process, it was sometimes difficult to fully appreciate a designer’s vision. Often times fabrics and patterns she presented were not what we would normally have chosen. By stepping back and putting our trust in her trained eye, we were able to see how her decisions fit into the overall design plan and our vision for this space. We are glad we put our trust in Kat, because the results are amazing! This overall project has been a long time coming and we truly feel she has converted our house into a home! We hired Kat to help us redo a house we purchased in WaterColor at Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. She did a fabulous job! With her expertise, we were able to completely transform the house from dark wood and palm frond prints to beautiful updated furnishings, blues/green tones and whimsical, yet classic prints. Kat was respectful of our budget and taste and made excellent recommendations that were not only great looking, but durable too. We rent the home part time so it was important that furnishings and soft goods would wear well, as well as look good.
