Lisa is an extremely knowledgable and talented designer. She had excellent recommendations for the type and placement of plants that were both appropriate to the surroundings and climate and, at the same time, beautiful. She essentially held our hands throughout the entire process from start to finish and made sure that we achieved the result we had hoped for. And did we mention patient…. It was a pleasure working with her.

Lisa created a beautiful design for our front yard that combined both form and function. She is a true professional and we highly recommend her.

Lisa Bellora is a true professional -- an excellent designer and a fount of knowledge about plants and trees. She collaborated with me every step of the way to achieve and exceed my vision for my half-acre yard. Initially, she provided three alternative detailed designs. Then we selected all the plants and trees to be incorporated in the design. My knowledge of plants is limited, so she showed me pictures on her laptop and described the characteristics of each plant we were discussing -- its drought tolerance, rate of growth, and eventual size. She was also sensitive to budget constraints: she suggested that we use existing materials in my yard as much as possible, and offered alternatives when my desires exceeded my budget. She consulted extensively during the installation process to make sure that every detail was done properly, and she has followed up on any question or concern that has arisen after the project was complete. Our objective was to create a natural looking landscape using more drought tolerant plants and native species. We collaborated together to establish the design requirements and then Lisa created the detailed plans. Lisa oversaw acquisition of the plants and placement. It was easy to work with Lisa and her extensive plant knowledge and experience resulted in a beautiful, very functional landscape that met our needs.

Lisa is a multi talented genius! She knows all about plants, design and the science underlying beautiful and ecologically friendly gardens. She presented three designs for a complete makeover of our property and all were wonderful, making it hard to choose. We incorporated bits from all in the final plan! We are looking forward to implementing the plan as soon as we complete the remaining items of our interior remodel. Lisa is making our garden dreams come true!

I highly recommend Ornamental Gardens by Lisa. We have a very small lot that was suffocating under overgrown, inappropriate, high-maintenance plantings from thirty years ago (when the house was built). Lisa created a fabulous design that opens up our spaces and makes our yard a lovely, pleasant place where we want to spend time.

When we decided to revamp our front and back yard landscapes we had the fortunate opportunity to meet Lisa. Not only did she educate us about water-wise landscapes and rain gardens, she came to our house, set up her table and chair in both the front and the back yards and sketched her designs right there! I had a small idea of what I wanted, but after she listened to us, she designed a front yard which shows off the architecture of our house and a backyard which is people and pup friendly! Having her design our landscaping was the best decision we made. We're very happy with her work and we've had so many compliments on our yard.

Lisa was a joy to work with! We wanted a low water yard with lots of color. She planned our front and both side yards, and added 2 rain gardens of rock to catch the rain from our roof. Her plan was outstanding and her prices very reasonable. We planted in Feb, and the result is beautiful. We love it and have received many compliments from our neighbors.

This woman has forgotten more about landscaping than most of us combined will know in our lives. She's honest, straightforward, professional, and a delight to work with. We don't bother with competitive bids, either, because we know the quality, value, and results she provides are only dwarfed by her reasonable prices. Over a number of years Ornamental Gardens by Lisa did organic maintenance for my drought tolerant back yard which had many plants, a lemon tree, gardenia tree, all connected to a drip system. She was honest with the highest integrity, hard working, and extremely knowledgeable. When she became a full time landscape designer I hired her for my front yard and with taking in my needs and wants designed a beautiful front yard. She even recommended some contractors to interview and I chose one. Am now waiting for the project to begin in September - my request for starting then.

Lisa is one of the best people we've ever met (Seriously!). She is kind, thoughtful, and a lot of fun. We met her at the Del Mar Home Show and asked her to help us with our backyard. She drew up several different plans and tried to meet all of our needs. Once we found a layout we liked, she helped us find fair and honest contractors to do the work (this was a big help). During the construction, we hired her as a consultant to stop by to check on the contractor to see how the work was progressing. If issues came up, she found creative and thoughtful ways to work around them to keep the project and "vision" moving toward our goals. In the end, she helped us to build a WONDERFUL. It's all we hoped for; it helps us live the life we want with our family in our home. Lisa is fantastic, that's all there is to it!
