We purchased a home in Ottawa a year ago to be our future forever home and searched and interviewed a number of contractors prior to hiring OGC for design and now to complete our renovation project in 2019. We met initially with Nick who provided us with an outline OGC services both for the design portion and for the full general contracting services. We were so impressed with the lack of high pressure and professionalism of Nick and all of the staff we met at OGC, that we took the first step of having the designs done with them. Nick did not blink at the fact that I was in Toronto and my partner was in Ottawa, he said no problem we will meet via Skype! Nick babysat us through numerous revisions to the scope and minutia of our design and needs with extreme patience and great advice. We now have the plans for our forever home and are looking forward to working with OGC to make them come to fruition beginning in February 2019.

I never used a contractor before and at the time was wary of using one based on stories I had seen on TV. Since using OGC, I would definitely use their services again. Workers arrived at the site on time and were informative, friendly and professional at all times. Quality of work was Excellent! Follow up was excellent as well. When I called about a warranty issue, they were courteous and had a worker on site at the first opportunity I was available. I would definitely recommend this company to friends of mine. The neat thing about this renovation was the number of people I met that I had done business before but did not know they were affiliated with OGC.

I want to thank OGC for their patience with my home construction and their wonderful work. The contractors with this company were remarkably flexible when it came to things we wanted to change in the plans in the middle of construction. They seemed to genuinely care that we got the home we really wanted.

OGC was not my original choice for my home addition, but they impressed me after my first choice decided to increase their estimate right before construction was about to begin. I called OGC, and they got things sorted fast enough that they started on the same day the other team would have started. They finished on the same deadline, and though the services cost slightly more, I don’t doubt it’s better than the work my first choice would done.

Gutted the kitchen, redid the floors on the entire main level and opened up some doorways. Working with OGC was great. From the initial consult with Nick, seeing the 3d renderings with James and then finally kicking off the demolition with Brad. Everyone was always where they needed to be at the right time and were ready to answer any questions about the project at any time of the day. All the workers in and out of the house were very curious, professional and did a stellar job. I would hire OGC to work on any other part of the house and will be recommending them to friends and family.

Ottawa General Contractors helped my family recover our home after a fire that consumed one of the wings. I was very adamant from the beginning that I needed it to look as close to exactly like the other wing as possible, and I wasn’t interested unless they could manage that. I was satisfied with the estimate they gave me and with the confidence they showed when we first met to discuss the repairs. I am satisfied with the work they did at that price. I may have to wait a few seasons for the look of the two wings to truly match, but they got every construction detail just right.

I was looking for a renovation company to add more space in my main floor betwenn living rooma nd diningroom, cut off the partitionning wall and upgrade current flooring and kitchen. My friend refered OGC who I ended up hiring. I can tell they are selective with labours and sub contractors they employ, so we had a good vibe. It was very easy on my end, most of the time I just need to choose finishing materials, so the overall experience is pretty positive.

We hired OGC in March to for remove existing garages, and add a new room, in-suit bathroom for second floor and new garage, as well reno the old kitchen. Overall they did a good job, on-schedule and realible, we feel totally safe just to let them in out house working while we are gone for vacation.

We hired OGC to facilitate a complete renovation of our bungalow, which included an approximate 300 sq. ft. addition with basement room below, and a remodelled entrance way, bedroom, bathroom, dining area and kitchen. The most important objective of our renovation was to modernize and maximize the living space for our family in the most cost efficient way possible. Overall, we did achieve our expectations within our budget. Having no prior experience working with OGC we researched them online and decided to give them a shot. In addition to having a personal reference from a work colleague who spoke highly of OGC, they appealed to us due to the fact that we would be able to work with them from the design phase to materials selections, and all the way to project execution. Overall, OGC did a wonderful job, from the design stage all the way to the finished product. The OGC team that worked on our project was very attentive and helpful throughout the whole process. They took the time to listen to any concerns we had and reassured us that our expectations would be met. Throughout the design and build of the renovation, communication was an integral part and OGC uses a platform called Chatter where we took an active role when reaching out to the OGC team at all phases of the project. We were forewarned that there might be some obstacles and hurdles to overcome but once again we were reassured that they would be managed in a timely manner. The only obstacles were related to the materials selections as some of the materials were late or were incorrect. OGC reacted quickly to rectify the situation and the delay was effectively managed. Without a doubt, the best part of the renovation process was the finished product, however the highlight was being able to see the design that OGC provided come to life. If we were looking to do another renovation we would definitely work with OGC again.

Fifth, when my project effectively took place Ottawa General Contractors did their utmost to keep a tight control of the all process ( consulting with me and offering me viable options in case of unforeseen potential surprises) in order to stay within the previously agreed price of the project.
