I’ll paint you a picture. One year old townhouse, blank slate for a back yard (20x40), Ryan’s design ideas and an amazing crew. This all made for a beautiful front and back yard projects. Patio stones, composite deck, hot tub, electrical (garden lights, stair lights, power to the hot tub, power to the shed), shed, garden and planting as well as fencing. I am very pleased with the way everything turned out and especially happy with how professional the different crews and craftsmen were. When people visit they are always amazed at how much could be fit in a townhouse backyard without it looking like too much. Everyone comments on the beautiful large tiles used for the patio. What a positive experience! From initial consultation to final execution, the project was performed with extraordinary attention to detail. Our vision was far exceeded by the Green Works team. Ryan, a co-owner, took our vision and took it to a level we had not imagined - simply amazing! The on-site crew were professional, attentive to detail and just wonderful to have on site. Green Roots completed a large-scale backyard project for us in the summer of 2024 and completely exceeded our expectations! We were planning to have an inground pool installed, and were looking for Green Roots to plan, design and execute the surrounding patio spaces and gardens. The project included an armor stone retaining wall around the pool, multiple interlock patios, privacy screens, raised bed gardens, stone steps and more. Dave met with us multiple times to plan and design the project, listening to our wants and needs, incorporating our ideas, and suggesting elements that we would not have thought of. He was able to seamlessly incorporate the existing trees that we wanted to keep .After choosing a final design, the pool dig did not go our way and we were required to change the size and location of the pool. Dave generously re-did the backyard design again to work around the necessary changes, incorporating the important elements and presenting a new design that we loved. They were also very flexible in adding to the scope of the project last minute and starting the work on time as promised. Tasha, Quinn and the crew were hard-working, friendly and professional. We noticed their attention to detail and that they cared about getting things right, per the design. They worked long hours and always took the time to clean up the job site each night. We also worked with Ryan selecting plant material, he was knowledgeable about what would work in our space and patient with us taking the time to select the right plants. When a few arrived looking crispy (in the heat of mid-July!) the crew refused to plant them and ensured we received healthy replacements. Our backyard turned out beautifully, we are very happy with the end result! We would highly recommend the Green Roots team and look forward to working with them on our next project!

What a wonderful experience working with Green Roots Landscaping. The consultation, the design concept, the communication, the crew, a class act from start to finish. We tasked Ryan with finding us a way to revive the front of our property and live grass free while working the design around a fire hydrant. Ryan listened, understood and blew us away with his first design concept. Watching MJ and her crew work so happily and cohesively with pride of craftsmanship to bring his design to life was really a treat in itself. It was a pleasure working with Ryan and his dedicated team at Green Roots Landscaping. They were courteous, punctual and readily available to answer our questions and listen to our wants and/or suggestions. All work was of excellent quality and performed on time and budget The team worked their magic to eliminate the depressed section of the front walkway (an icy hazard in the colder weather), install a cistern and French drains to lead water/melting snow away from the foundation of the garage, install decorative panels to hide double rain barrels, eliminate the sunken pavement leading into the double garage and replace the paved front driveway with stepping stones and native plant material. Our new walkway, front entrance and adjoining side entrance in front of the garage consist of permeable pavers that both modernize and complement our home. The quality of the work is evident. Even more important, we observed that the staff layered much gravel and other material, providing the necessary foundation to support the pavers but also mitigate our Ottawa freeze/thaw cycles. Highly recommend!

Green Roots Landscaping Inc is a great company to deal with. We had a large project that required a complete re-do of our backyard. Ryan Crompton carefully reviewed the project, listened to our needs and produced a exemplary, beautiful project plan. The crew sent to undertake the work was made up of some of the most pleasant, hardest-working people we've ever met. They worked all day through both rain and high heat. Green Roots Landscaping is truly an exceptional design build landscaping company. We engaged Green Roots to redesign and build the landscaping at our home. This included the hardscaping, softscaping, grading, drainage and lighting resulting in a substantial change to the look and layout of our drive and walkways. Green Roots provided the design that was created after much considered thought. It was beautiful, contextual, functional, and achieved all the programming requirements that we had requested. As part of the design process, we received both two dimensional as well as three dimensional video fly-by perspective drawings that were a true representation of the finished product. The work was completed at a very high standard, with progress meetings throughout the project. David, the owner, and his team are professional, efficient, courteous, conscientious and friendly. We have worked with other landscaping companies on other projects and can say without hesitation, Green Roots is a cut above the rest. If you are pursuing a project, you need to seriously consider Green Roots.
