I love this look!
can one plant Junipers or Tall grasses in a planter over and have it survive over the winter months?
Would ground cover survive in the planters?
Does anything need to be done to the planter?

    Hello Nathan,

They are a bold and stunning look. We are big fans. There is a lot of structure that goes into ensuring anything including grasses or ground cover can grow in them. There must be a proper, tamped 1 foot layer of gravel to support the weight and ensure it does not heave in the winter months. Since they are custom built we ensure they have holes drilled in the bottom. We fill them a foot from the top with clear gravel, then add a layer of fabric, then a foot of triple mix garden soil. This allows the planter to drain, and stops it from heaving or flooding in the winter or spring. With this treatment anything will grow in these planters.

The only caution you might consider is climate. If it is a really hot area, metal planters can get too hot for the plants and kill or damage them. If you are in a more temperate zone, you should be fine. They look great , don't rot and are all round fabulous.
