Ordered smart motorized roller shades and drapes in the beginning of Oct 2025 with the help of Scott Ruth. Scott provided a quote for Hunter Douglas. We okayed the proposal, sent in a major chunk of the payment from the proposal based on Scott's request to pay immediately. Expected delivery for the shades was end of Oct 2025. On the day of delivery the installer proceeds to install a couple of shades, has trouble fitting the shades and also programming the remotes. Complains that he has never worked with this brand and that he only deals with Hunter Douglas. I was surprised and told him we had ordered Hunter Douglas. The shades that were delivered were from a company called Yoolax. At this point the installer's conduct is pretty rude towards us. On top of this, Scott is travelling. Texts me saying that he mentioned about going with another brand. However, his revised estimates still mentioned Hunter Douglas. So I was not expecting a different brand. Scott reassured me that they are good and comparable to Hunter Douglas. So I reluctantly agreed to have the installer come back and try installing again. Second attempt, same story. He had a lot of trouble installing, was very rude and walked away without finishing the job. I told Scott about how the installation went and asked him not to send this installer back again. After several back and forth, Scott sent another installer who was also not able to install the shades successfully (more remote programming issues and fitment issues). It was already past Thanksgiving at this point. Scott came back from the holiday and tried to get in touch with the manufacturer in Taiwan to resolve the programming issues. It seemed to work at that time. The very next day, one of the installed shades popped out of the bracket and fell while operating using the remote. In addition, some of the shades were out of reach of the signal range of the hub and hence cannot be operated via smartphone. I conveyed my displeasure with the whole installation and the fact that we didn't get Hunter Douglas. His response was that this kind of issue can happen with Hunter Douglas as well. While this is ongoing, I have been sending constant reminders about the yet to be delivered drapes. The drapes were originally expected during the first or second week of Dec 2025. After several misleading messages about imminent delivery of drapes, Scott finally emails on March 18 2026 saying he cannot deliver the drapes, his company is restructuring and will refund the money. But will have someone come in to fix the shades that popped out of the bracket. It is May 2026 and I haven't received the refund and Scott seems to be unreachable.

We moved into our newly remodeled home and needed shutters badly. Scott came in and measured all our windows and ordered the shutters immediately. He provided and installed temporary blinds for us while we waited for delivery of the shutters. He handled all of the details of ordering and choosing for us which was just what we needed. The shutters arrived before the estimated delivery time and they promptly came to install. Installation was quick and clean. We could not be happier with our shutters and the service that was provided. Communication regarding all aspects of the process was provided so we were never left wondering what the status was. The employees are kind and respectful, we felt very comfortable having them in our home.

They did a great job, the custom blinds went in without any drama, and are working great, and as promised! Use this company for your blinds!!!

Ruth Construction remodeled my 2 bathrooms in my house in 2010. They also replaced all my windows in 2013, installed blinds in my bathroom, and added a pull down attic door ladder in one of my bedrooms.
