CairnsCraft completed a wonderful remodel for my mom's bathroom to help her age in place. My mom is petite so Marie made sure all the fixtures and grabs were at the correct height and elderly friendly. Marie and Danny went above and beyond in communicating with my mom throughout the process. They left the house clean and tidy everyday and all their subs were wonderful. My mom says the CairnsCraft team was marvelous and kept her house immaculate! My mom is hard to please so this is definitely a relief to hear. We'll definitely use CairnsCraft again. :)

I was thrust into considering the possibility of a full remodel when I suffered two separate leaks within a few months. A friend who had recently remodeled her home recommended CairnsCraft Design and Remodel. CairnsCraft was the perfect design and construction company for me from start to finish. I live in a small unit in a downtown high rise building, which presented numerous design and construction challenges, due to physical constraints from the immovable stacked plumbing, location of the electrical wiring and concrete ceiling and floors which could not be touched. HOA regulations were also very strict concerning the sound suppression rating for the underlay beneath the flooring. I also wanted an island in the kitchen, which initially the designer was not certain could be accomplished within my small kitchen space. Svetlana create a completely new, open concept design for my kitchen, which included my desired island, tons more cabinet storage space, and a beautiful, functional flow of the entire kitchen to the rest of the living spaces. Marie and Svetlana spent countless hours to come up with a brilliant, creative, beautiful solution to meet the HOA’s strict underlay sound suppressant requirements. Both tiles and luxury vinyl planking were used, joined by mimicking the curve of the soffit above, creating a beautiful transition between the two materials. Svetlana also had fantastic designs for both bathrooms, She really took the time to listen to my needs and wants in the design and function, and added fantastic suggestions. She successfully created a design that incorporated everything I requested, and more. Marie and her team were always in communication with me during the entire remodeling process. I was frequently traveling internationally to remote locations, but never felt out of touch. Through the BuilderTrend app, I was able to see the construction schedule, daily photos of the work in progress, along with messages from the team and detailed invoices. I was always able to get in touch with Marie, the project managers and office personnel to discuss any concerns. Responses were always prompt and professional. I can’t say enough about the high degree of high skill, professionalism and the pride in the work of all the various individuals who worked on my project. Marie ensured that the work was up to her high standards, was on schedule and that the workspace was cleaned up at the end of the day. I am completely thrilled how CarinsCraft transformed my condominium from a somewhat cramped and a little bit dysfunctional space, into a beautiful, functional, open modern living area which I will enjoy for many years to come. I had a great experience working with Marie and the CairnsCraft team on my studio renovation. They helped transform a dated, underutilized bonus room into a modern space our whole family can enjoy. Marie and her team were accommodating, flexible, and thoughtful as we worked through the right scope and approach for the project. They also worked closely with both me and my designer to make sure the details came together smoothly. Adding a designer into the communication mix could have made things more complicated, but CairnsCraft made the process feel seamless. I especially enjoyed working with Danny and Dennis. They were easy to collaborate with, communicated clearly, and kept the project moving at the pace I needed. The subcontractor they brought in was also excellent and went above and beyond to make sure my dogs were safe while the crew was coming and going. Everyone was friendly with the dogs, and the crew was greeted each day with wagging tails. I’ve worked with several contractors, and this was the best experience overall. CairnsCraft Design & Remodel will be my go-to team for my next remodeling adventure.

I met Marie while visiting San Diego as I was thinking about remodeling my kitchen, I instantly thought of her and reached out to her. I live in Arizona and wasn't able to have Carin's Craft Design & Remodel complete the project however Marie went above and beyond to help me anyway. She was incredibly generous with her time, guiding me toward the right hardware, recommending trusted companies, and offering thoughtful direction throughout the process. I had a vision and had my own design but I was also inspired by her website and the stunning remodels she's completed for others--her talent, attention to detail, and passion for design really shined through. Even from afar, her support made a meaningful difference in my remodel. I am so grateful to Marie for her kindness, expertise, and willingness to help without hesitation. A heartfelt thank you!

We chose CairnsCraft Design & Remodel for our old fireplace replacement, which included a floor to ceiling modern stone fireplace surround and installation of a linear realistic electric fire. From the beginning, we were impressed with their professional approach. Charles visited our house at the beginning of the project and with Marie came to view the finished project. They are truly dedicated professionals. Matt, the project manager, was our main point of contact, and was always available, in person or to respond promptly to phone calls and texts throughout the whole process. With the Cairns Craft team, he produced a detailed project proposal with itemized costs and a preliminary timetable. We remained in our home during the remodel, and was kept informed by Matt, in conjunction with online software, about which subcontractors would be at our home each day and when they would arrive. All were skilled, friendly and respectful of our home, cleaning up at the end of each day. The stone fabricator who installed our fireplace surround was particularly impressive. He worked closely with us to ensure the design we were looking for was achieved. His attention to detail was impeccable and craftsmanship second to none. A special thank you to Matt who kept the project moving along and was there to oversee the progress from beginning to end. We are so happy with our amazing new fireplace and looking forward to working with the team on our next project early next year.

BEWARE!!! I hired this firm to provide a kitchen remodel from design to execution and it was a horror story to say the least. From multiple measuring errors in the designs, to numerous visible damages, this firm is not competent and arrogant. They use a sub contractor named Kaizen Built Inc who should be best known for attempting to repair new items that Kaizen damages. They pride themselves in "fixing" problems they created and / or damages. Furthermore bth firms do not live up to the basic pricinipal of owning your mistakes. They in fact damaged my new appliances by saying paint on the aluminum doors accidentally but never let us know until we confronted them afterwards. To this day they have not remedied this damage. A 3 month $120,000 (not including $25,000 in new appliances damaged by Cairnscraft & Kaizen Built) remodel has taken over 2 years and is still incomplete. I have comprehensive notes and evidence of the "many" mistakes, damages, re-damages and uncooperative behavior of these 2 incompetent firms if anyone is interested. I have also attached a few photos (limit is 6, I have many more) of their work which should clearly have you 2nd guess using them on your project.

We choose Cairns Craft Design & Remodel to renovate our two (2) bathrooms. They were professional, attentive & prompt to our questions and concerns. In partnership with Cairns & Marie, we established the project timeline which was exceeded. We are very satisfied with the quality of workmanship and are now enjoying our two (2) bathrooms. From the day Charles came to present information about CairnsCraft, to the last day of the project when Marie stopped by to give a thank you gift, our experience with Cairns has been fantastic. We had two incredible designers work on our home. Paola and Svetlana both listened carefully to our wishes and worked to create our dream kitchen. Having procured the design, we then had the opportunity to work with the construction team Marie managed. Every step of the way, matters were handled in a timely manner and Marie even managed to finish our project early! The whole experience was a joy - and having done two other kitchen remodels, we know this isn’t always the case! Marie, a master of communication, responded quickly and regularly to any questions or concerns we had. Finally, I have to add that working with Marie as our project manager saved us both time and money. We had a financial issue with the company that delivered our appliances, and on a late Friday afternoon, Marie called her many contacts and helped solve our problem! Thanks to CairnsCraft we now have our dream kitchen in our forever home.

Cairnscraft helped with a remodel project on our floors and kitchen. Their attention to detail was excellent and responsiveness to issues was efficient and appreciated. They kept to the budget and their tracking system was very helpful to manage expenses.

This is the second home renovation project we have done with CairnsCraft and we could not be happier to work with them. Marie and Charles are wonderful to work with -- they are kind, patient, and responsive, and they are very good about communicating over the course of the project. They work with outstanding subcontractors who do beautiful work, and their own employees are terrific. They get the renovations done efficiently, they stick to the budget carefully, and they get good and fair pricing. Our most recent renovation could have taken several months, but they got it done in just a few weeks and the work is impeccable. We have recommended them to many of our friends and will continue to do so, and look forward to working with them in the future on our next home projects.

I absolutely LOVE Marie and Charles. We used them to remodel our La Jolla home after another contractor left us high and dry (and "forgot" to get permits for his work." They came in and re-did what needed to be done at fair, reasonable, and straightforward pricing. They can be trusted with quality and time. CairnsCraft is now my go-to for any work I need done. They built an ADU for me on time and on budget for the same house in La Jolla. We later moved to Rancho Santa Fe, and they did it again, converting a four-car garage and outbuilding into a beautiful 1 bedroom apartment! They made it really sweet, with a kitchenette, bathroom with large tub, and heated floors. It's a little oasis built out of 500 square feet, and adds so much to our home.
