If only this architect had come through with what he promised rather than costing me a fortune having to undo all of the mistakes that he did.

Having had the pleasure of photographing several of Steve Marchetti's projects we can say that we would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an architect to do a new home or a remodel. He is top- notch when it comes to careful attention to detail and esthetics in creating beautiful homes for his clients. As architectural photographers we are keenly aware of how it feels to experience a space... the light, the layout, the views. In Steve’s intelligent designs we’ve been totally impressed by his creativity of ideas & ingenuity in creating comfortable and exciting modern classics for living.

Steve helped us combine and fully renovate two apartments in a pre-war Brooklyn Heights co-op. He was brilliant. After carefully listening to our ideas, he presented us with various ingenious configurations, and then patiently guided us through an assessment of each and the ultimate selection of the right one. He then supervised the process of selecting a contractor, which resulted in our hiring someone who was truly terrific. Steve (and his staff), the contractor (and his crew), and our designer worked together seamlessly. Steve supervised the construction and design process with expertise, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor. He was terrific in making suggestions and improvements in the plans along the way, often taking our ideas and making them better. He knows how to balance, "must-haves," and "nice-to-haves" against a budget and time schedule. He is smart, creative, and a pleasure to work with. In short, we could not recommend him more highly, and have done so to friends. Thank you, Steve, for giving us such a wonderful family home!

As the General Contractor responsible for the Dutchess County House, we had the incredible opportunity of working with Steven and Kristin closely from the early contract stages, thru construction and punch list completion. Steven's passion and enthusiasm for design is second only to the excitement he exudes throughout the construction process as his vision comes to life. The opportunity to build for Steven was a wonderful experience for us as the GC and our new relationship is one we hope to continue and expand!

Steve and I worked together to photograph a project of his in Dutchess County, NY. It was a beautiful project, and thus a pleasure to work on, and Steve is great to collaborate with. I'd look forward to visiting more of his projects, and would recommend him without reservation.

I used Studio Marchetti when we completely renovated our apartment. The experience could not have been better. Steve Marchetti is a highly intelligent and experienced architect. He has in depth knowledge in all areas of his field. His work is extremely precise and he is an absolute pleasure to work with. Steve also has impeccable taste and makes a fantastic decorator. He is a true professional.

Steve built us our dream country house from the ground up! Steve was able to understand our vision for our home, despite our inability to clearly articulate it, and bring it to life. We could not be happier with our new home and fully credit him for helping our dream come true. Steve is passionate and thoughtful and sensitive to needs and personal taste. His vision and creativity blew us away. He is absolutely and staggeringly talented. Full stop. Steve's best quality is probably his ability to listen. He spends the time to get to know his clients and their individual tastes and needs. Our house is beautiful yet functional and meets our current needs as a family with young children without sacrificing style.

I'm not sure how he does it -- maybe by listening so intently to one's own ideas and treating those ideas with such respect while maintaining his own rigorous architectural design sense and standards-- but Steven Marchetti made us feel as though we had designed our own (beautiful) home renovation projects, when in retrospect it is clear that we never could have had such joyful experiences and wonderful results without him. In different antique homes over twenty years, each of them presenting challenges that required ingenuity and skill, we have worked with Steve to make happy machines for living. His dealings with subcontractors are invariably professional, good-humored, and politely forceful when required. The only regret I have is that we might never be able to design an entirely new house with Steve, because we are so happy where we are. So we're planning a folly.
