W Design Interiors

I visited some of the projects of the these designers first hand and was impressed with their product. We laid out a $20,000 deposit but within a couple weeks realized that we would not be proceeding with the build and would be staying in our original house so that our kids could stay at the school they love. There had been virtually no design work done, and while the it was "nonrefundable" the deposit was supposed to be applied to the hourly rate of the services provided. When I asked for a refund, less whatever expenses for the email communications, the firm told me they would be keeping the entire deposit, citing passing up on other clients in the 5 week interval between the deposit and the decision not to proceed as the reason for keeping the money. There were other statements made that should have clued me into their frivolousness, and I am only glad that I found out about their lack of budgetary concern before engaging them further. Our plans were for a several million dollar build, but the very idea of financial restraint doesn't seem to enter into their thought process. I think the "W" stands for Wasteful, and I would not use them if you don't want to throw money out the "W"indow.

We hired W Design to do a whole house design and are very disappointed in the design and our dealings with Wendy. She re-used furniture selections for our house that she had selected for other condos and homes. She picked a Dining Room table that had to be returned twice. The first time it arrived damaged and the second time it had a defective finish. She never helped us find another table and just abandoned us to find a table on our own. She tried to charge us a $10,000 up-charge on draperies for our home. We decided to purchase those on our own when we discovered the up-charge on top of retail prices. She also goofed on the layout of the Living Room. When all the furniture arrived, it was like a fortress to try and get in to sit on the couch. Thankfully, her assistant designer agreed that we had too much furniture and they took back several pieces. A console that was selected for the Office was cheap and overpriced. Overall, a very poor experience and we had to hire another designer to finish the project.

Very professional and forward-thinking. We've enjoyed our b2b with W Design very much and look forward to continuing our mutual desire to make Naples DAZZLE and SHIMMER!

Above all though, and most obvious to me, is that they genuinely care about their clients as people and treat them like family. While there are many talented designers working today I can say, without hesitation, that there are none better then Wendy Berry and the team at W Design!
