Leslie Parke
Local Artists in Berkshire
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsOctober 28, 2012
“I have worked with artist Leslie Parke in both a professional and personal relationship. Leslie is an impeccable artist & worker who brings the quality of the work relationship up to the same level as the quality of her artistry. She never 'settles' for less than she knows she can achieve, or aspires to achieve. Her paintings easily represent the caliber of work she can create and pushes herself to develop. Professionally, Leslie works well with groups of people, is open to ideas & collaboration and yet she has clear and decisive opinions which always benefit the group. We collaborated for 2 years on a community organizing project which brought more than a dozen artists together to show & present our artwork to a tri-state community in the form of a fine arts tour in New York State. I highly recommend Leslie Parke for any creative endeavor and believe any client would be better served to work with her.”

“I have been working with Christine for several months and when we have meetings and consultations she is always prompt, organized and enthusiastic. Her work and aesthetic approach is of the highest order and she takes her time and has a gentle manner that makes all work go smoothly, including problem solving issues - and she always meets deadlines. I strongly recommend her - one conversation with her will put you at ease and allow your dream project to manifest with clarity and a schedule!”
BIG BANG MOSAICS
Local Artists in Berkshire
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsFebruary 14, 2014
“When my kitchen was destroyed by a leak from upstairs, I had the opportunity to (finally) recreate it so that it was exactly what I wanted. I love mosaic, and I wanted to cover the entire backsplash with an original work of art. The kitchen area is quite small, and I had in mind something like a jeweled cave. We spent a long, long time looking for an artist that could produce what we wanted. We loved Cynthia Fisher's abstract mosaics, and contacted her about our job. This was the best decision we made in the entire remodeling process. We are in California and Cynthia is in Massachusetts, but this was not an issue. She guided us through the measurement process, sent photos of the work in progress so that we could provide feedback about what we liked or didn't like, and completed the work on time. Besides the artistic elements, the job was quite challenging technically--the mosaics had to fit around light switch plates and outlets, and around the edges of the cabinets. Not only did thing fit perfectly, but the mosaics are designed so that the switch plates are integral, not visually separate from the work. Installation went smoothly (it helped that Cynthia was available to talk to the installer whenever we needed to consult.) The result greatly exceeded my expectations. I got exactly what I wanted, and I love, love, love my backsplash. I give Cynthia Fisher and Big Bang Mosaics my very highest recommendation, both as an artist and as a professional. It was a joy to work with her.”
Jen Violette

“Jen Violette's work has graced my home for many years. I've collected bottles, vases and sugar/creamer sets, all colorful, whimsical and warm. When Jen started making fruits and vegetables like those pictured on this website, I couldn't resist some pears and peaches. Orders have always been sent on time and as promised. Jen is as beautiful as her work”
Stephen Procter Ceramics
Local Artists in Berkshire
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsOctober 30, 2012
“Stephen Procter's large-scale pots and urns are among the finest we have ever seen. We have three in our 1 1/2 acre garden at the moment. They add stature and grace and, being stoneware, we can leave them out all winter here in southeastern Vermont. Being a garden designer, I recommend Stephen's pots to my clients without reservation. Furthermore, Stephen himself is a joy to work with.”
DC Studios LLC
Local Artists in Berkshire
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsMay 7, 2014
“DC Studios created two exceptional stained-glass artworks for my house in Germantown, NY. I asked Doris to create artwork to replace the broken glass windows in a pair of hallway bedroom doors in my c.1888 Queen Anne Victorian. She drew her inspiration from the sunset views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains outside the bedroom windows. Her process included several computer renderings from which to choose a design, as well as hand-selecting glass pieces with me at her studio. Her meticulous attention to detail and method and her love of the nuances of each piece of glass made me view the art of stained glass from an entirely new perspective. Doris is a true artist and master of this medium. I could not be more happy with the outcome.”

“Our first opportunity to work together was when I was hired to do sound and provide cameras for the director/editor of SGG's promotional videos for their artists. The shoot schedule was very well planned and the level of craftsmanship of the work by the artisans on camera was superb. I also do product photography and ad design for local publications and worked with owner James Knight on these projects. His sense of design and purpose is well communicated, and his level of attention to details makes the process of working with Mr. Knight a pleasure and always brings better than expected results. His specific personal taste and aesthetic is what I think sets his shop and gallery apart from other local businesses.”

“With a written description, and a few emails, Natalie was able to create the perfect piece of tile art for our new home within our budget. She was able to capture the essence of the location, the Missouri Ozarks, with the river, hills, moon and a bat. Thanks Natalie, it was a pleasure to work with you. Cheryl Ross tieszen ”
