I can't emphasize enough how highly we think of Michael Hyden. He helped us turn our likes and dislikes and functional needs into our dream home. Thoughtful consideration went into every aspect of the design as Michael really listened to us talk about our family and our lifestyle. I would recommend Hyden Design for your next project. Michael was very flexible when we needed to meet to discuss our project. We had ideas in our head and Michael was able to start sketching the ideas and turned them into an excellent home design. With his experience he was able to make suggestions and talk us through pros and cons for each of our ideas. Now that the project has moved from ideas to paper and on to the construction phase, Michael still checks in on our project.

I have used Michael Hyden (Hyden Design Group) for various new home construction projects since 1997. The latest was started last fall and should be completed this month ... project cost in excess of $500,000). I found Michael easy to work with, able to take a concept or idea and generate a number of designs and/or options to evaluate and select. I've worked with different designers and architects over the years in Cleveland, Chicago and now San Antonio and have found Michael to be the most consistent in accuracy and detail.

We engaged Mr. Hyden based on a recommendation received, and recently let another designer go that drug out our plans for 9 months, and had some shortcomings in the design. We had our original plans 80-90% done, and took time out to list the EXACT changes and concerns that didn't get done with the previous designer. Mr. Hyden met at our property/office and took the plans, notes, our check, and some sketches back to his office and began to work on it for 2 weeks. During the initial consult Mr. Hyden stated we only get so much meeting time with him, and it's so much per square foot. He then proceeded to enlarge and inflate our plans, and conduct a pointless meeting with a rudimentary sketch that had numerous errors. We had absolutely no need for this secondary meeting since we covered EVERYTHING in the initial meeting and our plans were nearly complete. We just needed our plans with the changes discussed, and then a meeting to discuss minor items. This plan was like starting from day one! The real aggravation came when we already paid the previous designer over $2500 and then Mr. Hyden took another $250 for wasting our time. In the attachments You can see the plan we had that's more detailed and the plan that was sent to us.

We are new to Texas and are very fortunate to have come across Michael. All the information he gave me was wonderful and he has been so helpful in pointing us in the right direction to get started.
