Bryan Brown was recommended to us by the contractor that put in our granite. Brown repainted our kitchen cabinets. He took 6 weeks to complete a job that should have taken 1-2 weeks at the most. He did a very poor job with the painting. The paint was uneven and bubbled in many spots and—several months after the work was completed—the paint is peeling and chipping in places. Also, there was cabinet trim that he did not replace. He also kept several of our cabinet drawers and hardware and never returned the items. His work came with a one year “guarantee”, but he never honored this part of the contract for us. In fact, right after he collected his money from us, he shut his old phone and website down. Overall, his work was a very sloppy. I would never recommend this Contractor to anyone.

Steve and his team completed a sunroom renovation for us, and we highly recommend them. Their skill is of the highest quality - we are thrilled with the final result - and the whole project went smoothly and with the greatest attention to detail. They listened well to our desires but also used their expertise and creativity to figure out what worked best for our space. Steve and his team are professional, skilled, considerate, hard working, and always on time. The project was completed in a very timely manner and under budget. I hope we can use Monarch Construction again in the future, and I recommend them without reservation!

If you want a reliable, exceptionally skilled carpenter, who takes their work seriously, Jeff is your guy! He will tell you his carpentry work is his “art” and that’s truly how he will deliver his services. Jeff took down a wall for us and put in a beautiful cased opening; it truly changed the look of our first floor, creating a functional, open space between our dining and living room. Jeff also custom matched our 1939 trim and replaced all the quarter round in our home. Jeff communicates very well, is responsive, trustworthy, and reliable. If you want beautiful work and a smooth, easy process, look no further! We highly recommend Jeff and we can’t thank him enough for the work he has done on our home!

James and Kelly run a top-notch business. We are a military family that has used General Repairs exclusively since 2008. James impressed us immediately with his conscientious and careful work. He measures twice before cutting, he takes his time to plan the project perfectly, and then he executes that plan with the expertise of a highly skilled craftsman. Jon Lillyman and his crew are the ultimate in professionalism and experience. They transformed a falling down porch on our historic home in Richmond. They wired in ceiling fans and lighting, used precision craftsmanship to recreate original the splendor of the porch and entryway, and did it all with a sensitivity to the original historic look and feel of our 1880s home. Jon is a genius at his craft and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!!

Very professional from start to finish. Excellent workmanship and very tidy. I have an older home and Karl explained every thing in great detail. And matched the trim perfectly. I felt very comfortable with them in my home.

Brian did an AMAZING job at our new home! Crown molding, chair rail molding and “shadow boxes” to match what the builder did in our dining room. He prepared our quote quickly and adhered to it. He SHOWED UP when he said, stayed with our job til it was completed, he works hard, fast and clean. He was very respectful of our brand new home. Brian used lots of drop cloths to protect our hardwood floors and he’s very polite. You’ll love working with him, we did and I’m quick to give out his name and number!

I hired Geno to install new laminate floors throughout by first floor condo. He also installed a beautiful backsplash in my kitchen. Geno is easy to work with on with and extremely helpful in giving ideas that would work well on patterns and coloring. I was extremely pleased with the outcome of work. I highly recommend him.

Alan has done MANY jobs in my home i.e., removing walls and replacing support beam, putting in a 7 foot window where there was only a brick wall, putting in hardwood floors and porcelain tile floors and many other smaller jobs. He has also MADE faux columns for aesthetic purposes. His work is beautiful. He is a perfectionist. He and his helper Andy always leave the area for the day clean and replace everything they have moved. Hardly looks like they have been there. I would HIGHLY recommend them for ANY kind of home construction work.

Earl took up my existing tile floor and then laid new tiles without replacing the cement board which had naturally been damaged during the demolition. He never snapped any chalk lines and he did not remove the baseboards before

very incompetent, and stated that a roof only needed to sloop a quarter inch every 4 feet instead of every foot so I am now left with a roof that does not drain. He ordered twice the amount of supplies that were needed for the job and then tried to take the supplies that were not used even though they were paid for by me. Stated that he would return to correct the problem then never returned, cashed the check and will not answer any phone calls or text. I would rate this guy a -10 if possible I don't even want to give him one star. Do not use this guy unless you were willing to then hire somebody to do the work correctly

Mike came out to give us a quote on finishing our garage including electrical, drywall, insulation, etc. It took a few weeks to get his quote back but it was within our price range so we said it was a go. He even promised he would fit us in to start at the end of April. He then got in touch and asked to send the electrician back and the insulator. They came and spent over an hour and his team said the electrical was not as extensive as they thought. Fast forward 3 weeks with ZERO communication even after a couple calls. We were interviewing other contractors and I clicked on the quote and it had jumped over $15K. Either this company is incompetent when it comes to quoting their work or shady. Either way I would not recommend based on our experience. We found another contractor whose quote was right the first time.
