“Our back yard went from ugly to awesome thanks to Lindgren Landscape. It started out as a barren patch of dirt and Lindgren transformed it into a beautiful and relaxing area, including a special area just for our dogs. Designer Jamie McCarn took my vague ideas and turned them into a design that included a beautiful dry stream bed, flagstone walkways, water-wise perennials, just the right trees placed in just the right spots and plentiful turf areas (for dogs and humans alike). It’s a wonderful blend of hardscaping and plantings with lots of beautiful curving lines. Jamie never blinked when I asked for minor modifications and plant switches. She even accompanied me to the landscape supply yard so that I could pick out just the right boulders, as I had very specific ideas about the boulders (including needing some nice flatter ones for doggy perches). She was also creative and accommodating in presenting alternatives that would keep the overall design within our budget. As for the crew: I have been involved in many a landscaping project and have honestly never, ever seen such a hardworking crew. Foreman Juan Gomez, crewmembers Juan Carlos and Cruz just never seemed to stop (and my apologies if I have forgotten someone here). They worked hard all day, every day – and they were working in temps from the high 90s to low 100s for the whole job. At the end of each day, they cleaned up the area and at the end of the job, they took pains to clean up the street in the front of the house where the equipment, supplies and all the materials had been staged. They left the area looking better than it looked before the job started. Kudos, too, to Project Manager Brian Leavitt who oversaw the whole project! Every person on the team was extremely accommodating when I had questions. No one ever made me feel as though I was pestering with silly questions and requests. When I asked that the flagstones be placed a bit closer together – no problem! When I asked that a tree be planted an inch the other way – no problem! They went above and beyond in every possible way. I told Jamie that I didn’t want a ho-hum yard, but something special, and the Lindgren team delivered.”

“We hired C2 after purchasing a newly built home in Somerville, MA, which had a large, awkwardly sloped yard, sparse grass and lots of mature trees, some of which dead and a liability. C2 planned the remodel to suit our young family's needs, including leveling the yard, turning part of our asphalted driveway back into a garden, creating a deck extension, installing a shed and a new fence, building a vegetable patch, removing dead trees and replacing them with fast-growing birches so privacy is maintained, creating a path in large custom cement squares from the front to the back of the house, building a custom sand pit for the children and installing subtly lit wood steps and a slide into the remaining sloped side of the yard, and planting ground cover along the driveway. On top of all the functional elements, our brief to C2 was to give the generic suburban look of our home a more sophisticated, contemporary feel, while ensuring maintenance needs and costs were minimal and doable by ourselves, thanks to a fully automated concealed irrigation system. We also asked for all flowering plants to be white to match our home. Scott and Jane listened and understood exactly what we wanted. When completed, the work resulted in a gorgeous green space that we were able to enjoy immediately, but as they had promised, it took two years for the plantings to really mature and fully envelop our private oasis in the middle of the city. When it came time to sell our home we discovered that investing in the services of a landscape architect more than paid for itself. It gave our property a unique advantage on the market. Our "airy sanctuary", as one of the buyers called it, had a bidding war on the day of our first open house and sold to a cash buyer for more than asking price.”
