FB Electrical Services Inc.
Electricians in Boston
"It's not easy to find a contractor who's knowledgable, responsive, honest and respectful at the same time. I found this out when for the first time I needed an A-Z project done at my single house that I just purchased and wanted to convert it into a warm, comfortable and beautifully lit home. After having three different contractors try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge in the field, I simply asked my neighbor who he'd recommend and ended up speaking to Gene from FB Electric. He said this guy was excellent and reasonable. The rest was easy. The amount of money and time Gene saved me between electrical and HVAC work was substantial and I recommend FB Electrical to anyone who needs work done in their home. They did all the lighting, video and sound, alarms, air-conditioning and heating. I am very thankful and my family has been comfortable for the last two month since they finished."

"I recently bought a house that had old knob and tube wiring. The first thing I wanted to do was get it replaced, which is a major undertaking. It's an old, two family house with sections that were added on later, and piecemeal electrical upgrades that were done throughout the years. It was a daunting task in so many ways. Even worse, I was hoping to live in it while the work was being done! But the owner, Jesse, came out personally, spent time going over every part of the house and discussing options - re-doing all of the wiring vs just replacing the knob and tube stuff, how they were going to do it, some thoughts on how I might want to lay out new outlets, switches, circuit panels, everything. It was a refreshing change from the other electricians who just wanted to dictate exactly what needed to be done and run up a big unnecessary bill for things I didn't want. He presented me with options, and I selected one and we went from there. Then, there was the work itself. Absolutely phenomenal. Like I said, there were a ton of details, and they nailed it. They kept notes on what I wanted and did it right the first time, they rolled with the punches when I changed my mind on details halfway through the job, they asked questions on my preferences and offered sage advice. The attention to detail, especially the little things, like minimizing the disruptions from re-wiring and keeping the damage to walls to a minimum, went so far beyond what I was thought was possible. I was expecting to be totally without power while they re-did all the wiring, but no, they were able to keep our power on pretty much the entire time. Besides just doing a great job, they were also on time, they did the job right the first time, they finished when they said they would. All told, they ended up inspecting and replacing almost all of the electrical in the house, which is exactly what I asked for. All the outlets, now properly grounded. Most of the lights replaced with energy efficient LEDs that won't need a bulb replaced for decades. New circuit breaker panels instead of the old fuse boxes. Even had a couple of electric baseboard heaters installed. At the end of the day, I'm incredibly satisfied and happy with the work they did. These guys are true professionals in every sense of the word."

V M A Electric

"I have now worked with VMA electric over a 6 year period. I have been doing major renovations for 6 years as money became available. My first contractor introduced me to VMA and every chance I had, I hired them again. They are polite, professional, on time and Lorrayne schedules things excellently. The employees are professional and delightful. I have no complaints about any of the work done or the fees they charge. They have basically rewired my whole house over the past 6 years, replaced most of light fixtures and added two generators. VMA added fabulous lighting in my library and they do low voltage work too. They stand behind their work and are now on contract to service my generators. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this company. Hire them and you will be pleased with their work."

"Great job installing a couple ceiling fans and all new smart devices throughout my house. Pro Electrical Services is up to date on the latest technology with their knowledge and abilities. The new smart devices make turning lights off and on so much easier, even when I am not at home I can do it from my smartphone. Pro Electrical Services showed me how to operate my home system, and did so with class and professionalism. I can't thank this company enough. The ceiling fans operate multiple ways to push heat down in the colder months and elevate heat in the warmer. I couldn't be happier, I highly recommend this group of professionals!"

"My wife and I maintain a second home, a summer/weekend residence, on the North Fork of Long Island. While not our primary address, we consider it our most important real estate investment. That said, given the storms that we've begun to experience, in addition to the routine power outages that occur on the North Fork, we decided to investigate the installation of a permanent full house generator as a solution. I had done my own superficial research and learned that for our needs I was interested in a Generac Generator. I quickly found an ad for an outfit on the East End in our local paper and made an appointment. While the meeting was certainly pleasant enough, the contractor did not instill the confidence in me that I needed to proceed with this job. Not only was I interested in the specific mechanics of the unit, but even more importantly for me, what was the impact to my home and property? Where would we place the machine (I certainly had my own ideas!)? What would that mean to surrounding landscaping? Was my buried propane tank sufficient in size to fuel the generator. Since I have a finished basement, what impact would there be in that space? And with all of this "construction" what would my additional costs be to put my house and property back in finished shape? My wife and I decided to put the job on hold. The week following that appointment another ad appeared in the local newspaper placed by Rich Wright of AllWright Electric in Mattituck. I immediately called for an appointment. In our meeting Rich listened to our needs. He confirmed my feeling that Gererac was the product to use and what size unit we would need. He explained very clearly how the unit would operate, what we could expect, what the costs were, noise, and what impact the installation process would have on the house and property. He even went so far as to admit that there would be damage to our home and property that would need to be repaired (additional costs!!). We then went outside and discussed the placement of the unit, trenching, and exterior electrical box; all of which were very important to us since we wanted the generator to be as hidden as possible. Our generator has been installed and operational for over a month now. AllWright's service specialist Steve came over for a walk through with us. Noise is not as loud as was expected. Costs were EXACTLY what Rich had said they would be...no hidden expenses. And best of all, the job was the cleanest project ever done at and in my home...EVER! AllWright Electric's team was so neat and so skilled they never had to break through a ceiling or wall in my basement, they carefully and respectfully worked around and within our landscaping, they wore "booties" when in the house, and reconnected the electric power leaving my family confident that the job was done correctly and expertly. Our only additional expense was with my gas company to disconnect and reconnect the gas line to the tank. Rich, thank you for a job well done."

What do licensed electricians do?

An electrical contractor plans, installs and repairs wiring in structures. He or she works closely with the home’s general contractor or remodeling contractor to determine the specific electrical needs for the project and to ensure that the wiring will meet Boston building codes. An electrical contractor’s job also includes installing and repairing fixtures, switches and other visible components of electrical systems.

With today’s technological needs and advances, many electricians in Boston also are trained to install fiber optic and coaxial cables for electronic equipment. Certain electrical companies may design and install data systems and wire for security features such as alarms too. Some electrical contractors specialize in specific areas, such as HVAC, low-voltage appliances and systems and more, so be sure to ask about their training to see if it fits your project needs. You can find more electricians in Boston, Worcester, Springfield, Lowell and Cambridge.
