Bramel Design and Construction

Bramel was recommended by our architect but after months of delays and large unauthorized cost overruns, they abandoned our project, leaving significant work paid for but unbuilt and a long list of deficiencies. We learned that structural inspections had failed multiple times and much work was condemned, incurring huge remediation costs to fix major structural issues and errors. Upon completing half of the work, Bramel demanded most of the remaining contract price to be paid up front for work not yet started, threatening that progress would slow or halt if we didn't give in to demands. We learned that subcontractors had difficulty getting paid and we had to pay some of the trades directly in order to proceed. In the end we completed the construction with an experienced commercial builder, but it was very costly to correct all the issues and we had to forego many of the things we dreamed about for our home. Based on our experience we do not recommend this firm.
