ABOUT PHILIP SLATER AND CONTRACTING IN CARPENTRY LLC Philip Slater began working part-time in the trim carpentry and cabinet building trades during high school. After graduating college he began working for a remodeling business as a lead carpenter eventually forming his own company, Contracting In Carpentry in 1985. With a variety of projects successfully completed in the first two years, he established a trusted reputation within the historic community of Crown Heights. In December of 1987, he incorporated his business as Contracting In Carpentry, Inc. and began expanding his reputation into the greater OKC metro area including Quail Creek, Nichols Hills, Blue Stem, Heritage Hills, The Greens, Val Verde, The Village and Edmond, Offering professional remodeling and construction management services since 1985, Philip understands homeowner's concerns and the importance of a clean well-executed job within an occupied home or construction project. His trusted network of specialty and licensed trades also share this philosophy and offer the same level of expertise. Philip's attention to detail was exceptional. He always would let us know how the project was proceeding and if problems occurred he would present the issue and some ideas on how to resolve the issue. This is something that I felt was extremely comforting knowing that he cared as much about the project as we did. You can tell that he takes pride in his work.

Very professional. He gives detailed estimates and bills. He does excellent work. He is thorough and efficient. He built a closet, made baseboards and solid core doors for me. He remodeled a bedroom and retextured and repaired several walls for me.

Philip did a full kitchen remodel for us. It included removing a 20+' wall. He did a fantastic job! His communication was great and he stayed on top of the subcontractors, especially when cabinet delays kept coming up. I would not hesitate to hire him for any other work we need done.

We found the work to be superb! We've had several projects completed including replacement, repair and original creations. In the case of the repair work, it is better than the original construction. We also had a unique challenge for Phil installing an attic lift, which he accomplished with professional ingueniity and outstanding workmanship. We recommend his work, his experience and the peace of mind knowing that the job is done correctly and to the highest quality.

Philip does excellent work and is very attentive to detail. He has worked on several projects for us over the last twenty years, and all have been completed promptly and within budget. Every time, we felt we got more than we paid for. He has replaced doors, removed and replaced windows, and remodeled and transformed an old farm house into trendy and beautiful office spaces.

Contracting In Carpentry was incredible on building my pergola! I would recommend them for any carpentry you need done. Philip was meticulous on his work and was very knowledgeable. His prices are fair and you will have the best work performed when he is working. Not only is he trust worthy, he's super friendly and great at his job! I plan on using him in the future for other projects!

Since 2005, we have utilized the skill and expertise of Philip Slater on multiple projects. We interviewed several contractors at that time as we completely gutted and remodeled the interior of our home that was built in 1978. Philip provided the most reasonable estimate to work within our budget. The project required that we occupy one end of the house, while his crews worked on the other end. He was able to accommodate our needs and privacy during all phases. In addition, he worked well with a kitchen design team that we also utilized. The project was extensive, and Philip was both helpful and efficient. This past year, we added a walk-in safe room/tornado shelter/Master Bedroom closet to accommodate a shelter for our daughter who could not walk down stairs into a standard shelter. This project also required Philip to coordinate with another specialty contractor to connect the two projects in a seamless manner. Philip utilized excellent sub-contractors on the projects. All were knowledgeable and skilled craftsmen. In fact, we have continued to use several of his subs for routine repairs and maintenance projects that occur in the course of normal home life. I would highly recommend Philip and will continue to contact him for any additional work that may arise at our home.

I have used Philip Slater for a porch roof addition and a smaller job of replacing exterior trim and cedar siding. If you care about your house and want your project done right the first time, Philip is your man. When getting quotes for the porch roof addition he had the best recommendations and a very reasonable price. One person wanted to just stick something on the side of my house. Philip recommended an overlay and tie-in to the existing roof. The porch roof addition has been standing and beautiful for over 10 years. When I needed a small job of repairs to the siding and exterior trim I wasn't sure he would do that small of a job but he did. Issues with the original construction where the brick met the siding had to be addressed and Philip knew exactly what needed to be done. You cannot beat the quality of his work and I wouldn't use anyone else.

A number of years ago my wife & I installed a DuPont Kevlar above ground storm room in our home in NW Oklahoma County. When we decide to build a similar room in our new home in Granbury, TX we called Philip Slater at Oklahoma Storm Rms and he agreed to install a storm room in our new home. Phil worked closely with our contractor and our contractor and we are delighted with the result. Oklahoma Storm Rooms has a great product and Philip Slater is a fine professional and great to work with.

Our Aero Safe brings peace of mind! Love the size (41W x 90L x 81 H). Fits in the garage nicely with easy access, even with the cars in the garage. Hope that we don't have to use it, but glad it's there!. The installation was professional -- quick and very tidy -- no mess to clean up. I would recommend this company.
