A special shout-out to Shay, our project manager. Shay was patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and always took the time to explain every step of the process. He was also extremely resourceful with vendors and even took the time to personally drive me to vendor appointments and consistently follow up on where we were in the process. His efficiency, organization, and dedication made everything run smoothly and stress-free. From the architectural renderings to seeing the final result in person, the entire experience was truly professional and exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and highly recommend this team to anyone looking for a smooth, well-managed, and high-quality build experience.

We had the pleasure of working with Lux Construction this past year on the brand new build of our ADU. The whole process was amazing with them. They always came with choices for solutions if we had to find a workaround, and never had surprising costs beyond what we had discussed. If something did come up unexpected we were all informed and making decisions together with our approvals. Various times they took initiative to redo things that I thought were fine, but they wanted them to be even more perfect. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy the entire time, and everything happened according to the timelines we initially agreed upon. Knowing we could count on costs and timelines was amazing, but even more than that, we enjoyed the people we worked with and felt like we reached our milestones all together as a team. Their knowledge from other ongoing projects and previous builds carried over, and everyone was trustworthy on our property and hard-working. We can’t wait to do another build someday with the Lux Construction team!

I recently had the pleasure of working with David and Shay at Lux Construction for a comprehensive home renovation and landscaping project, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results. From start to finish, their team demonstrated exceptional professionalism, skill, and dedication. Home Renovation: The renovation team transformed my home into a space that perfectly blends modern functionality with classic charm. They were meticulous in their planning and execution, ensuring every detail was addressed. We had the chance to work with LU on 2 big jobs at the same site: (1) a new 730 sq ft ADU; and (2) a gut renovation to about half of our main house. Besides factors which were beyond all of our control (mostly related to COVID changes and supply chain issues), the projects were on time and completed as intended. We just finished our Final Inspection in excellent shape in Saratoga. I would definitely recommend working with LU and, in particular, our project manager JOEY, because they aim to please. As you all know (or should know), any construction project is going to be really stressful. Joey/LU do a really great job of working to please the customer and being flexible when unexpected issues arise. Here are some things I thought went well: 1. They are an integrated design/build shop so that you don't have to get caught in a trap of dealing with the issues that arise with multiple changes to your plans and waiting for turnaround from two different entities. We made a fair number of revisions to our plans, which really gave us the structures that we are really happy with. Both Nadia (architect) and Delphine (designer) worked with us in person and virtually to perfect the decisions we were making. 2. They try their best to please their customers: for example, Joey/LU insisted that we do the jobs in sequence (rather than at the same time, which would have probably been cheaper for them) so that we would have a working kitchen and dining area throughout the entire process and we could stay in our own property. This helped avoid as much added stress as possible. 3. They have a lot of jobs in the South Bay, so they can show other sites at many stages of progress and are close by when issues/emergencies inevitably come up if you are in the South Bay. Joey is very responsive when urgencies come up. 4. Inevitably, things come up in the build process that can be a surprise. For example, we had to put in a new sewer clean out to the main sewer line which they helped with. There was uncertainty about what elements were structural in our main house and, once we had a chance to open everything up, they helped figure out the best design given our constraints. We decided we needed a half bath near our kitchen area and they were able to adapt to that need. Over the years, our home had many different floor/subfloors and they helped us figure out how to make it uniform/level for a single wood flooring. PGE was a real challenge and they helped us electrify the home while waiting for PGE to approve needed upgrades. 5. We did look at several other companies and, overall, we thought the bid was competitive with what others were offering (given how $$ everything is these days in the Bay Area). In fact, we initially were only going to do the ADU, but Joey helped us make a plan to also renovate our living areas which we could afford.

Can’t say enough about David and team’s commitment toward our remodel work that we recently got done. From signing the contract in the first hour of our meeting to closing of all major and minor issues, David and Shay were always on top of things. We were very skeptical of getting any structural changes done during the pandemic but David assured us of completing the work within a certain period and stuck to his word. There were some issues with the permits but that was totally on the city and the team handled it very well. I can’t say enough about our designer Tal who helped us achieve exactly what we had in mind. People can’t stop complimenting us for our beautiful home. Highly recommended team.

TLDR: LU is BEST in business. Consider them if you want high quality work delivered in time on budget! David and Joey did a phenomenal job and we highly recommend LU construction for your home addition/renovation needs. Wife and I were 5 months pregnant and wanted to add a master bedroom(closet and bathroom) as our family was growing. Ideally we wanted this project to be completed before our babies arrived! Also we were on a budget. Given these constraints, we got quotes from a bunch of construction companies listed on review websites. We picked all the top rated ones and some of them said it's impossible to deliver due to our time(winter rains) and/or budget constraints. This sounds like a build up to my review but it is indeed what happened. We had given up on our hopes our addition and thought maybe the time was not right. But then I found this GEM hidden in some of the review websites. They don't have a whole lot of reviews. But whatever they had (I read each review like 5 times and did some research to make sure these are not fake) were all good. We decided to give them a chance and spoke to Ben and David initially. Keep in mind there are a lot of horror stories about construction projects. Some that never completed. Some that got ripped off by the company and what not. I did not have a single acquaintance who had a positive experience with construction. It was really difficult to trust someone with a big chunk of our money.But going by gut feeling after having met David and all their detailed positive reviews we decided to take the leap of faith. It was also critical for us to finish on time since last thing we wanted is newborns and construction project gone wrong. Joey was assigned as the project manager to our project. As the project started taking shape my faith got stronger since each phase was delivered on time or even before time. Joey was patient enough to explain everything very clearly and thoroughly and going out of his way throughout the project to deliver. They were in "beast mode" starting from Foundation, Framing and all the way up until the finish line. There were a few minor bumps for sure but everything was promptly taken care fof. For example during the roofing, there was one weekend where it rained and caused leak into the house. However, Joey and David ensured they covered for all the damage.Also, I feel like the finish phase could have been handled a little better. But it was bad timing due to Jewish holiday during which most of LU is off. But since they were ahead of schedule it made up for the time lost. Again, there is no such thing as smooth construction project. The most important thing to us was quality of work, budget and time. They delivered a 10/10 on all 3 aspects given our tight timeline, budget and crappy weather. It has been about 2 months since completion and we are extremely happy with our addition. Like I mentioned earlier LU is a gem and definitely deserves 5 stars. I look forward to working with them in future when we are ready for another round of addition/remodeling project. Hope you guys maintain this level of quality and trust as you grow bigger as a company. All the best to David, Joey and rest of the crew!

We decided to extend our home, and we had some concepts in mind. We called a few companies to get an idea and high-level quotes. Looking at online reviews, we decided to get a quote from LU Construction as well. Ben, who is the project manager, came in for the first meeting. He listened to our concept carefully. He gave us a good background of the company. We liked the fact that LU Construction is a one-stop shop from designs, and city permits to construction, plumbing, HVAC, etc. After looking at the scope of our work, which was substantial, Ben decided to involve David, who is the senior manager of the company. When David came in and saw the project, he gave us some suggestions that we had never thought about. We immediately liked his idea and asked them to develop the concept further. They gave us 3D models for a charge, which they waived after we allotted them with the final contract. We are so glad that David gave us that suggestion now that our project is done and we see the benefit of his vision. Ben and David explained to us the process of city approvals and inspections to set expectations about the city's inefficient method of working. It turned out to be accurate, and it was less frustrating because we were prepared. Construction projects are complex. Mistakes can happen. We did have some of the missteps, but what we really liked about LU construction is that they owned them honesty and offered solutions to fix. We never had to argue with them about it. In some cases, they made us aware of the problem that we had not noticed in the first place and fixed them proactively. And there was an instance where we wanted bathroom vanity to be installed in a specific way next to the shower. While they agreed to do what we said, they offered advice about the cons of our approach. We listened to what they suggested, and that was the right decision. Ben is an exceptionally dedicated professional. He goes the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied. In some case, we asked for changes after work was completed, and Ben got it done without any hassles. He maintained a high line of communication and kept us up to date on progress and future work. Ben and David stood by us beyond passing the final inspection. They corrected a couple of things even after all payments were made. Throughout the project, they made sure that we were satisfied. We never felt insecure about LU completing our job. In the end, we are pleased customers of LU and delighted with the final results. Currently we are in progress of a full house remodeling/expansion project with LU. We had to move out of our house and 10 month in, we have just passed the Shearwall inspections. The project is still ongoing and I'd like to give this review for what has been completed so far. There definitely has been struggles and hurtles due to structural designs causing delays until now. LU has been very patient through out the issues we encountered. We were behind on schedule due to city inspection and other delays, after inspection was passed, David brought the crews and within 2 weeks, we saw significant progress done on the framing. The subs they use are very knowledgeable and professional. When it comes to discuss on any payment terms, David was present with an open mind and willing to help which made it easy to do business with. The only improvement I would recommend is so far a bit lacking in communication and status updates. I'm very excited to be moving onto the finishing and see the completed transformation of my house in next few months. I will be back after the project completion with an entire review then.

I’m extremely lucky I found Lu Construction. I will be forever grateful to my friend that recommended about Lu construction and specially to Jordan the project manager and his entire team for our remodeled home. We love it!!! The work was extensive as it included remodeling the entire house plus the addition of 400 sq ft. The project included demo of the entire house down to the studs, removing the floor, and removing and/or moving walls. The remodel included the addition of a fourth bedroom including a new foundation for the addition, a new kitchen, two remodeled bathrooms, addition of a storage closet, addition of a pantry in the kitchen, installation of new floor, insulation in the house and garage, all new electrical and plumbing, and re-stucco of the exterior wall including new paint. Jordan basically gave us a brand new home! Since this was my first major remodel, I was very worried especially with all the horror stories I've heard from other people about their experiences with remodeling. The first time I met Jordan, however, I knew he was the one I would chose to fix our home. I told Jordan my budget and what I wanted to have done. During that conversation, he actually 'toned' down my requests (I admit that I went a bit overboard) by offering ways to reduce cost but still get what I wanted. He was very honest and candid which I absolutely appreciated. Jordan gave me a 5 month timeline to complete the project but he finished a little over one month ahead of schedule! Jordan was absolutely great to work with. He was always pleasant to speak with and was so responsive to my phone calls or text - he always responded right away. His crew was also awesome! They were all very polite, experienced in their field, and worked hard. My neighbors consistently commented on how his crew was polite, there by 8a, didn't leave until around 6p, and they always cleaned up before they left. My favorites were the tile and electrical crew. They did such an awesome job with all the tiles in the kitchen and bathrooms and Also was awesome with the electrical especially the lighting! I am so impressed with the quality of work that was done to our home! I would highly recommend Lu Construction to those looking to remodel their home. In fact, I already recommended them to my aunt who will be starting her remodel with them soon. Thank you again Jordan and your team for our beautiful new home!!!

We hired LU Construction to do a large addition to our home adding more living and entertainment space. Ben was very nice and helpful as well as being easy to talk to. He assisted us through the audition process and was always available for questions. The room addition project was completed on time as expected, and we were very happy with the work. I would highly recommend LU Construction to others!!

We worked with Yotam at LU Construction to build a dream kitchen. Yotam was passionate and creative. Throughout the project, he communicated with us daily. He was always true to his word. Great team. Excellent work. We hired LU Construction to help transform a bonus/attic space into a master bedroom with walk-in closet and master bath along with some repair work caused by falling tree damage. The entire team has been friendly, helpful and customer focused. We have been very pleased.

We have used LU Construction for two projects so far and would highly recommend. Our first project was a kitchen and we absolute love it. We have gotten so many compliments on it and appreciate all the extra details. When we were unsure of anything, Maurice would offer suggestions, which helped with decision making. In particular our lead on the day to day project at our house Ben was exceptional on so many fronts. Both projects were performed with professionalism and grace. Sol was our project lead and handled all parts of our project in a professional and beautiful way. We are very happy with the final outcome. Honestly the work could not have been done better in our opinion. The estimated cost of the work and any extras during construction were honest and nothing was a surprise. Sol mentioned some challenges that may or may not come up depending on the work. However, when those challenges came up, they were handled in a way where we did not feel cheated. We also want to say thank you to Alexis who works in the customer service department. Alexis and Sol handled a problem which came up, a year after completion of the project. We could not be more grateful. LU Construction is a multi-talented organization that handles all aspects of a project. They work to the resolution of issues during and post completion. We like that they are doing away with subcontractors and think that when one company does the job it always turns out better. A lot of big companies hire outside and so it is a nice relief to see everyone working as a whole. We will be using LU Construction for all of our future projects.

We live in the Berkeley Hills and have been looking for the right contractor for our project. We needed a bathroom remodel. We did not mind paying more for good quality. We signed up with HomeAdvisor and let them know what we were looking to remodel. Within hours I heard from a couple of places including LU Construction. I talked to Greg who booked me an appointment for a free estimate. The next day Sol, our project manager met with us to go over possible options. We had a great relationship with Sol. He is energetic, personable and extremely knowledgeable. Because of the great experience we went through with LU Construction. We were not disappointed in the work and LU exceeded our expectations. When something was loose or needed tightening, Sol would be on call to fix it.

Shout out to LU Construction for making my family's dream a reality! My friend referred us to LU construction after she had her kitchen remodeled. Our home was built in the 70’s and we have slowly started redoing the inside and eventually will move to the outside. The kitchen has been a big issue for us because it has a big wall that blocks the view of the living room and dining room and our cabinets, floors, and stove were all outdated. David, our project manager layed out a plan and explained what we could do to update our kitchen. We wanted our living room and dining room to all be connected to the kitchen. We couldn’t cut down the entire wall which was unfortunate. The beams would need to remain there in order to support the house. However, David was able to cut out a section of the wall so you could see into our kitchen from both the living and dining rooms. This has made a world of a difference! It's so much more open and fun. The LU crew continued replacing everything with the new tiles, and cabinets that I had requested. I have dealt with contractors in the past that have been just ok, But LU construction was outstanding to me and my family. Our kitchen looks so modern! I really do owe it to these guys for keeping their promise of prompt, professional and quality service. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LU CONSTRUCTION and will be using for all my future renovations!

Great experience! Everything about this company is amazing!! From a very professional and friendly staff to the great work that they did on my roof! The project manager John walked me through the entire process, listened and addressed all questions and concerns I had, such a sweet guy. My roof was completed in less than a week and I love it!! I was so pleased with the professional approach, high quality of building materials, and the quality of his various teams. What makes LU Construction stand out from its competitors for me is the Company's reputation AND the Project Manager assigned to my project. Not only is John an outstanding project manager, but he has a keen eye for design, detail, color, and architecture. He is passionate about his craft and it shows! He partnered with me to design every element of the exterior and interior of my house in real time as we went through the many project phases. And, when we found some structural issues, he thoroughly explained it to me, often several times, so that I could understand it and make an informed decision. As a project manager, he was on every detail, most often 2-3 steps ahead of me, and made things happen in a very quick time frame. His financial estimates are accurate and fair. Renovating your home is a big construction project and stressful. After a little more than 3 months he delivered on schedule and my vision became a reality! Their was one issue with one of the cabinet doors, but when I called they came out and fixed it the next day. Excellent customer service!

I've been putting off getting my kitchen remodeled for years now but I'm very satisfied seeing the finished product and how easy it was along the way. In my past experience with projects involving any sort of construction, the project had always lasted longer than I was originally promised and had gone over budget but LU Construction made sure to stay within our budget and completed the project ahead of schedule. Make sure to ask for John as your project manager, he was very helpful and made sure we got everything we wanted out of the project.

LU construction did a great job at my house by remodeling the kitchen and the bathroom. Our project manager, John was very personable and the rest of the works did a great job getting the job done fast and not interrupting our daily routines. The remodeling took close to 6 weeks and John came over to the house on a daily basis supervising the workers. Overall I'm very pleased with the process and the results and I will definitely work with them in the future.

I was referred to Shai by a close friend. I was told he is honest, attentive, and most importantly he would listen and will do each job on the best side. My friend was right! I had my detailed specifications and drawings. I knew all the final materials that I wanted to have prior to beginning my remodeling project. I knew exactly what I wanted and Shai totally understood me. Though Shai was referred to me, I still did my homework, getting 2 more bids. I had given my specifications to each of them so that they would all have the same information in order to give the same exact bid. I checked out all of the contractors on the Contractors State License website and, I called and spoke some of the prior clients for each of the contractors. I compared all of the bids and found them all to be in line with the scope of work to be done. Pricing was also a factor, I wanted to stay within my budget. Of all the bids I got, Shai's was the most inclusive and detailed of the work to be performed, giving me the right confidence that he was fully involved and hands on in the entire construction process. I remodeled 2 bathrooms, bedrooms and one dressing room. Shai was always available to me and when it was necessary, he would come over at a short notice. Shai's team of workers were unbelievably great guys! They are detailed, neat and cleaned the areas each day before leaving and never left the trash around. They arrived to the house each day in the morning with smiles on their faces. It seems that they enjoy their work. Marcus, the tile artisan, IS FABULOUS! For the shower floor, they cut close to 400 – 3.5”x3.5” tiles from 24 x 24 inch porcelain tiles. 3 of the bathroom walls were done by 15 x 35inch porcelain tile laid stacked horizontally. For the inside and edges around the bathroom window, which were finished in tile, I did not want the usual tile nor the metal edge strips. I wanted the tile to be mitered. Marcus didn't blink an eye at my request. The shower have a column that holding the shower fixtures that is made of glass. One each side of the column are 1/2 inch tempered glass walls. Marcus's work is the most beautiful work I have seen in a very long time. There was very little waste of my very expensive tile and no waste of my glass material. Juan (Painter & Drywall and a multitude of other items), is also an artist. Besides all of his drywall work, he also removed the acoustical ceiling in my dressing room. Shachar (Electrician) followed my specifications perfectly putting everything in conduit as was my preference. Herman (Plumber) also followed my specifications perfectly putting everything copper to copper, no plastic, hooking up the rather complicated rain head, proportioning valve, and hand shower. My home was built in the early 80's and was never remodeled. I was worried what would be found behind the walls but thank god, there were no problems. Because I am so detailed, and knew exactly what I wanted - having my fixtures and tile on hand prior to the start of the job, along with the detailed specifications and drawings, there were no add-on's. The remodel went smoothly and stayed on budget. Shai is a pleasure to work with and I look forward to working with him again. Thank you Shai, and your entire crew for a beautiful job.

We had a great experience with LU construction. The designer of LU construction helped us to design an amazing new kitchen with extra storage (which was our main demand). Our kitchen was quite a challenge because of the considering the size of the existing kitchen (15’x10’). His design was great and he was able to include everything we wanted including additional extra space that we didn’t thought he could include. We had a previous design and few estimates from another construction company but it was real bad and expensive. David, who managed this whole job, helped the workers to install the cabinets, counter top, appliances and paint. He was a real professional person and he solved all the problems that we had (such as the uneven walls). Daniel was also educated me about how to read this type of plans, which really came in handy for understanding the work process of the contractor's people. Most of all, David was responsive to my questions and concerns throughout the many months it took (we also gave them to do the popcorn removal on ceilings throughout the house). I highly recommend this company.

Ori from Lu construction renewed my confidence in general contractors-- his team is absolutely amazing!!! Here's about our experience with Ori and his workers. I purchased a home and when I moved into the home, the kitchen was the main space at the house that I wanted to remodel. More than that, the master bedroom at the house turned out to have numerous issues that needed me to remodel it as well. That was the time when I started shopping around for a general contractor that can do it. My plan was to search and ask people that I know if they know any one and to search online for a contractor that will be responsible and reliable. Then, to meet with each one of them and try to compare apple to apple so I will know what I get myself into. After meeting with several companies and one man construction companies, I decided to go with a friend recommendation... Lu Construction. The first weekend that Ori came to the house, he brought with him many samples of work that he did in the past for others and few samples of materials such as cabinets, paint color combinations etc.… The first meeting was very good and productive. Ori explained me his general idea of things that he would like to do and as part of his estimate, he will make me a 3D design of the new kitchen so I will have a close idea of how the new one will look like. During all my meetings with Ori, I didn’t have the feeling that he is trying to push the sale or to add me items that I don’t need o asked for. After 2 additional meetings, we wrapped the deal and Ori provided me with a work schedule so will be on top of the things and I will know what will be done and when. The kitchen work started after a week and during that week, bulk items start to arrive the house. Ori and his office staff organized the deliveries and they actually made sure that no delays will happened with them. Work went as scheduled and the workers worked fast and clean. The new kitchen was completed after 3 weeks of heavy work and the last payments proved me that no hidden charges were added to the final bill as Ori promised me. Good work results, Great people to deal and work with and reliable as well.

Over the past few years, I had the opportunity to work with several contractors on the renovation of our home. The experiences were varied, but LU construction was absolutely the best. They are very professional and mainly great communicators and meet all their commitments. I found out that they are very easy to work with. David came to my house as scheduled to see the project and within a few days he was able to provide me with a bid for the dining are remodeling. He took pictures and clearly explained the work scope including some external repairs that I wanted to include. He provided a well-made written estimate. He answered all my questions and I was pleased that LU construction take care of everything from A-Z without the need to involve me much. Once the decision was made to proceed with LU construction, my communications were all with David. David was consistently responsive to my phone calls, provided the scheduling and explained the process in detail. He explained that all the materials would be delivered a few days before the installation directly to my house, and the work would be done over 2 weeks. When I asked about the invoice..........he let me know that the estimate also served as the invoice. Very nice, they stand behind their bid. Overall, this was a very nice experience with a contractor. They are reliable, professional and handle all the details, i.e. permits, etc.
