I have had the pleasure of working with Sarah as we updated our dated kitchen. I think it is better to say, Sarah transformed our kitchen and living area into a well organized, comfortable open space integrating modern, highly efficient appliances and a European style that truly brought a beautiful finishing touch to our home. Her extensive experience and knowledge of interior design reaches far beyond anything you will imagine. I welcomed Sarah’s proactive approach and watchful eye from the work of contractors, staying on top of orders that were placed, working closely with the cabinet company, even to making sure where outlets should be placed. Because of her we saved money, prevented multiple mishaps, kept the work moving along in an efficient manner, and ultimately ended up with improvements we absolutely loved. You can see our kitchen in these pictures, but the work extended also into opening up the kitchen to the living room, new flooring throughout the home, new windows, window coverings, paint, along with new stucco and a redesign of the front of our home. She has a keen eye for color, will work with you to stay within your budget, and is efficient with her time to keep costs down. Our family hired a contractor in 2021 to build an ADU on our property here in San Rafael. With no experience in this area and little familiarity with the process, we found ourselves frequently overwhelmed with all the choices and decisions that had to be made along the way. Flooring, cabinets, appliances, fixtures, shades and the list goes on… HGTV makes this looks like a fun process! The reality, not so much. Early on in the project we had some concerns that our contractor was cutting corners and utilizing questionable business practices. How do you know if you are being taken advantage of? In order to eliminate all the guess-work and insure that we got the best possible results, Sarah Evers Hoffman was hired to oversee the project. Sarah is an expert in the building/design process and was able to translate contractor-speak into plain English. Her expertise helped us avoid all the pitfalls and delays that can plague a new-construction project. Now that the project is complete, you can see Sarah’s influence in just about every corner of every room. Her advice regarding appliances and fixtures was invaluable and the final product is better than we expected. The new custom quartz countertops are beautiful and better in every way than the cheap material that the contractor was going to install. Sarah showed us how to get the most out of our budget without sacrificing quality. Her network of vendors and craftspeople offered us choices that we didn’t know were otherwise available. Hiring an interior designer to oversee a construction project might seem like an odd choice but in reality, Sarah saved us money and protected us from a contractor that was not always looking out for our best interests. If you are building a new house or simply remodeling a kitchen or bath, I strongly encourage you to contact Sarah. Without Sarah’s guidance, there’s no way our ADU would have turned out so great!

Our first project with Sarah was a complete remodel of our second floor bedrooms, offices and two baths in 2017. Sarah pays very close attention to detail and a has great depth of experience and knowledge of products. There were no surprises due to lack of planning only wonderful outcomes. She has a great eye for style and color and coordinated everything with our contractor and all subs. We were so pleased with the remodel that we are now working with Sarah on our second project. We are replacing most of our old family room furniture and she is working to coordinate with the remaining furniture and decor. This is harder than starting over with a clean slate! Sarah really listens to her clients and is cost conscious. Sarah is a pleasure to work with.

Sarah has worked with us on a number of projects starting about 5 years ago with new construction for a 2 bedroom guest house, as well as an I8 seat home theatre, lobby and bar. This year she helped us again when we redesigned two bathrooms. In addition to being a pleasure to work with, she is very thorough and detail oriented. Sarah does extensive research to find the perfect selection of everything needed for the project. She has a strong knowledge of the building process and was a perfect conduit between us as homeowners and the contractor. Sarah made the sometimes difficult process of remodeling easy to manage.

Sarah headed up the interior design team on our Modern Farmhouse in San Anselmo and her work was extraordinary. She has a keen sense of design for a clean, modern aesthetic without sacrificing warmth or livability. We love the feel of the home she helped us build, and not surprisingly, so do the many people who have visited our house over the years. Her work was beautiful and not a day goes by when we don't appreciate something, some nuance or some convenience or something just really enjoyable that she helped us select. Sarah is outstanding - would love to work with her again.

I recently purchased a home in Petaluma that needed a complete update. I needed to find an interior designer I could trust, both in terms of their knowledge of the process and the many products available. Simply put, someone who could deliver. Over the past six years Sarah Hoffman has worked with us to remodel and renovate our home. She has listened carefully to what we had to say about our lifestyle, our home, and our intentions. She has shown remarkable patience, thoughtfulness, and humor in collaborating with us on decisions large and small. Over the past 10 years Sarah Evers Hoffman has assisted me with various home projects. Our first project was a large scale renovation that included the kitchen, laundry/mud room, dinning room and bar area. Sarah was an extraordinary project manager & designer - ensuring the architect, contractor and subs (tile setter, plumber, electrician etc) were well coordinated, pulling the project in on-time and on-budget. As full time working parents, my husband and I found Sarah an invaluable resource to recommend products (ie; sinks, facets, window coverings, flooring, granite, lighting, the list is endless..) that met our personal style, budget and purpose. Our last project together was our children's bathroom complete with a custom vanity. Since the initial renovation we have engaged Sarah in every home project we have undertaken - it's simply beneficial for us to hire Sarah to ensure the best possible outcome.

We worked with Sarah over a two-year span to update the furniture in the living room, dining room & bedroom of our home; to select new paint colors throughout the house; and to completely remodel two bathrooms. She helped us achieve a more clean-lined transitional look for our 1903 home, with beautiful results. The kitchen will be next!
