If you have it within your budget to spray your cabinets white, then paint the walls a nice grey!

Please show the entire space you want to paint, including the great room and your furniture. Also show a closeup of your floor. Your cabinets are very attractive. I don't think you need to paint them. The current problem you have is that the paint is the same tonal value as the cabinets, so there's no contrast. And the wall color doesn't work with the wood.

Here's a kitchen with similar colored cabinets. The paint color is Sherwin Williams Alabaster White. It's a beautiful combination.

Here's another way to go Benjamin Moore's Whythe Blue though it might be too much blue if you have a really large room. The room shown has those very tall arched windows.

Oh, a P.S. on this photo. Notice how selective the items on the cabinets are. Consider removing all the fake plants from the tops of your cabinets and elsewhere. It's a bit dated and detracts from the room. After you paint and live with the newly painted room for a while, consider not having anything more on the cabinets or just very selected pieces up there.

Light sources are a consideration as well. How many windows do you have? With black counters, fridge, TV, and possibly a dark couch not visible in your photos, going lighter with the right off-white may be your best bet.

Thanks for the help... We are purchasing the home and agree with all the helpful hints... The floor in the kitchen is tile and there is dark hardwood in the TV room. I am also think backs pals and possibly some stone or etc on the kitchen island wall facing the TV...

a light grey such as balboa mist or wish from BM. or a color such as sea salt. That mustard is a assault on the eyes with the wood color and the dark countertops.

Your cabinets and counters are very nice, but I think I would change the wall color... it is a bit harsh and in the photo at least, doesn't go very well with the finish on the cabinets.
