R. Olson Design

The most recent of several projects the Olsons have done for us is a top for our dining room table to replace the original ash veneer one damaged by water. They were able to match the original while extending it a foot and making it our of better materials. A great job at a grteat price!

We loved working with R. Olson design. They really stepped in and helped us move from our 'nebulous vision' phase to the finished product. Rick offered us guidance and expertise so that we could make the best decisions for our budget and vision. They were responsive to our materials requirements and questions - like when we wanted to use FSC certified wood products. From craftsmanship to material use and considering the client needs, it was clear that they really cared about delivery high quality work. Overall they are an honest company and we enjoyed our experience (and our beautiful new kitchen!!!).

My girlfriend and I hired R. Olson Design to make us a simple but unique bookshelf. Rick was very easy to work with, we told him an approx. size, budget and he took to it. He made the bookshelf unique by using a walnut inlay on the beautiful maple selves. We always get compliments on it and it has become our most valued furniture item. It really ties the room together. Rick is professional and fair. He was great to work with and I would trust him with any job, small or large. We look forward to hiring R. Olson Design in the future.

Rick was amazing. His work on our cabinets was fantastic, as well as his custom design of our "dirt bag deluxe" truck bed outfit. Always very personable and willing to take in basically any project within reason. We are currently looking to contract home to make a custom live-edge wood bed frame for us, it's going to be amazing. If you need quality work at a great price this is your guy.

Last winter, I moved into a flat in Portland, OR and was perturbed by the lack of counter space in the kitchen—it not only looked odd, but I also had nowhere to prepare food or mingle with guests! As a renter, a permanent island was not an option for me, and I had a terrible time finding something I liked. I hired R. Olson Design, and all I told them was that I wanted something that… A. Incorporated reclaimed wood They came up with a unique yet highly functional piece that completes my kitchen perfectly—I use it everyday and absolutely love it! They were wonderful to work with, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for custom wood furniture or cabinets.
